Banks Mansion is a memorable hotel with a great location on a canal, helpful staff, and unique added extras! The included breakfast was plentiful with eggs/ omelets, muesli, fruit, chicken sausage, breads, pastries, salad .... You get the idea! Many options. The chef serves with a smile. She has worked there 27 years and enjoys helping the guests. Wine and cheese hour, snacks, open bar all day. You need to experience it to believe it! We will recommend to all our friends.

This is NOT my hair. I'm a natural blonde

We booked this hotel for the last 3 nights for the end of an amazing Europe trip where everything else has been amazing (like check in early, bag in room). We were recommended this place in Brussels (sister hotel) and looked forward to a repeat experience. Come in here and less than hospitable, won't bring our bags to the room if we were to leave (will bag check), and everything else is basically self service. There is no 4 star hotel quality (which the rest of it was or above). You are wasting your time and money here. Self service bar, room is like a motel 6 and we booked above basic. If I come back to Amsterdam I will not be going to this place. Basic cleanliness is sorely lacking and the common areas are tired and unattended. The bar in your room is minimal at best. Book the hostel and save your money for a fine dining experience instead.

Check out time is 12 pm!

We were here for 5 days and 4 nights. On the morning of our last day a woman from front desk called our room and told us check out was at 11 and basically get out! June 2023 Omg! Thank you so much for Jay, young man at front desk who said no, not to worry check out was noon. I also read this on the room card. My first time in Amsterdam and I'm so sad having to leave this way. NEVER have I been called and told to leave! We loved the people at breakfast who went above and beyond. Thank you.

Fantastic top class Hotel! Centrally located in the canal district within just a block of Rembrandt square as well as the flower market and many other attractions like the RLD, Dam square and the museums. The room was very comfortable, the full bathroom was large with a huge tub with a separate large glass shower, we also had a separate 1/2 bathroom by the front entrance, 2 large comfy recliner chairs by the TV, large windows, super comfy bed - the slippers and bath robes were also a nice touch. The hotel has great Wi-Fi signal, the lobby is modern and also offers computers and ipads for people to use along with a fancy coffeemaker which prepares anything from Cappuccinos to Hot Chocolate, the lobby also had a beautiful fireplace, comfy chairs and plenty of magazines. This is an all inclusive hotel - the rooms have 3 full decanters (Whisky, Gin and I believe Brandy) and a stocked mini-fridge with snacks, plus a 24/7 help yourself fully stocked bar at the lobby with a fridge full of Becks beer, wines, and liquors, lots of variety including Baileys and regular juice and drinks. To top it off they also offer a Happy Hour in the afternoon and serve cold meats, crackers, biscuits, cheese cuts and other accompaniments. The staff is extremely professional and very helpful, they definitely made us feel at home. The breakfast (also included) was just as spectacular, they have a ton of variety including an omelette station, eggs any way you want them, lot of fresh breads, hams, cheeses, pancakes, more cheese, cereals, yogurts, waffles, fruits, bacon, croissants, OJ, and pastries, I don't think we could have found a better breakfast at a restaurant, and the breakfast staff was lovely and very accommodating. We rented bikes from a local shop and had an amazing time exploring Amsterdam by bike, but the best part is that anytime we wanted to grab a drink or take a quick rest we could easily bike right back to the hotel since its so centrally located. I loved the all inclusive concept! So refreshing and welcome! We most definitely will return to the Banks Mansion.

If I could've stayed here for just even one more night in downtown Amsterdam, I definitely would've, but our schedule was so busy shuffling from Bonn to Cologne to Leverkusen that if you don't have much time, you should book this place because they go above and beyond to make your experience an amazing one! My top reasons as to why I'd return: 1.) The alcohol is all inclusive and includes a good pour of cognac, gin and whiskey PER ROOM along with happy hour during select times for wine + cheese + olives. There's coffee, tea, liquor and beer that is accessible 24/7, so you already know this was my favorite spot to hang with my family after a canal tour, visiting Ann Frank House & Rrembrandt museum. 2.) Breakfast is included & absolutely phenomenal, very Dutch and the way I'd eat if I had more time in the morning before work to put together a small plate of cured meats and cheeses on bread with fresh fruit + granola. If that's not your cup of tea, there's an omelet/waffle station along with a juicer where you throw in a couple oranges and watch the gears crank & transform it into orange juice within a minute (pretty mesmerizing & magical)! 3.) The décor and precision in the lobby with fresh flowers and cozy fireplace as well as stellar customer service was really the icing on the cake. Shout out to Mickey for his kindness and beautiful smile! 4.) All three of our rooms were spacious, especially surprising because of expensive real estate and apartments in general are already so tiny in Amsterdam & our beds were so comfortable with what I thought was a large bathroom! I want to come back so badly in a couple years to see family during springtime when they have tulips blooming! 5.) You pay equivalent to +$250 - $300/night in the US without any alcohol or breakfast included, so that's only downside of staying here - you'll be permanently spoiled!!

Banks Mansion is a superb hotel. It has a wonderful location in the heart of Amsterdam's city center with a short walk to most attractions. The staff are wonderful and ready to answer your questions and address your needs. The breakfast is great, and having the mini bar in the room and downstairs bar included in the rate was a nice treat.

Very nice and friendly hotel with a great location. All inclusive, in that breakfast and evening drinks are included (wifi is also free - and fast). Same goes for the minibar and liquor in the rooms. Nice views, fantastic shower. Staff is helpful. Lovely cheese service in the evening!

Everyone I interacted with there was professional, helpful, and friendly. Unfortunately, the good service at the front desk didn't extend to the rest of the hotel. The bar and Lotti's restaurant were both consistently understaffed, and the service was extremely slow. Lotti's also seemed to be out of a lot of the main dishes, even though the menu is already pretty limited. As for the rooms, they were okay, but felt a little worn and could really use some updating. Nothing terrible, but for what the hotel charges, I think you should be able to expect a bit more comfort and quality. After checking out the W Hotel nearby, which was much nicer for a similar price, I couldn't help but feel disappointed. For nearly $4500 after taxes for three nights in two rooms at the Hoxton, I honestly felt a bit cheated. Again, the front desk team deserves credit, but overall, I think the Hoxton needs to step up its game to justify these rates.

I melted into it...and, yes, treats from local coffee shops definitely made that even more of a luxurious experience. The single room wasn't as claustrophobic as some reviews mention, but definitely would be cramped if two people were staying there (I was on my own). The room has a large bed, desk, and two bedside tables, and that's about it. There's a rather spacious closet (given the room size), and while the bathroom is lacking in counter space, there are drawers under the sink where you can store your toiletries. The location was perfect for being far enough away from Central Station/Red Light District but close enough for arrival/departure purposes. Situated on a canal adjacent to, if not actually in the Jordan area, super close to the Anne Frank house and walking distance to a handful of cafes, cocktail lounges, eateries, etc. Super easy to get buses/trams/walk to other neighborhoods as well and separated from the hustle and bustle so when you arrived back each night, you could leave the hectic nature of the day outside. While I didn't indulge in the dining/bar on site, it's absolutely stunning. An extremely welcoming, romantic vibe, complete with goth-y and velvet accents.

The hotel itself is quite unique, consisting of a collection of historic canal houses connected together along one of Amsterdam's beautiful canals. The property has a lot of character and charm that you won't find in a typical luxury hotel. Service throughout our stay was personable and attentive. The standout feature for me was the hotel's bar located toward the rear of the property. If you're a fan of Old Fashioneds, be sure to try their version--it was one of the highlights of our visit. One thing prospective guests should be aware of is the noise level. Due to the age and construction of the historic buildings, sound insulation is virtually nonexistent. We could easily hear noise from neighboring rooms and hallways, so light sleepers may want to bring earplugs or consider another option. Overall, the Pulitzer offers a distinctive Amsterdam experience with excellent service and a fantastic bar, but the lack of soundproofing may be a concern for some guests.

The room was definitely on the compact/modern side--typical for European city hotels--but beautifully appointed and very sleek. On the smaller side though. The absolute standout feature was the private balcony. The view overlooking the lively square, historic architecture, and tree-lined streets of Leidseplein was great! The hotel itself is an absolute stunner. The blend of historic Art Deco charm and modern boutique touches is executed so well. From the grand staircase with red floral carpeting and stained glass to the dark, art-filled hallways, every corner feels photogenic. We grabbed drinks at the bar and restaurant area, and the ambiance here is elite. Magnificent vaulted arches, plush red and emerald velvet seating, warm brass accents, and massive stained-glass windows that let in incredible light. As soon as my cab stopped in front, a man immediately came down the stairs to help me with my bag and escort me to the check in area. They asked if I wanted anything to drink and I said of course champagne! They gave me two! I checked in with Lisa who was amazing! She had me pick out a scent for my room. What? I didn't know that existed! Super fun! My room wasn't ready because I had booked late even though it was 3pm but I didn't mind waiting, especially when they gave me that 2nd glass of champagne. When I got my room, Lisa and Fae escorted me to the room to make sure I liked it and it was beautiful. I loved how the light came into the bathroom. On that note the bathtub was so nice I almost fell asleep in it! You receive welcome chocolates in the shape of Amsterdam shoes which were so cute and delicious! I ordered room service as the bar only served snacks and did not want to go to the restaurant by myself as it was really open. I got the Waldorf Astoria Burger which was amazing and so good! I'd go back to this hotel just for that burger itself. The next day I also had the breakfast and was able to get the whole tray of assortments and all the juices and coffee I wanted PLUS another dish! All complimentary with my Hilton Diamond status. I ordered the French toast and everything was delicious! Obviously I couldn't eat it all but was able to take some left to the room for later. I also had a spa appointment while here. Massage was great and the masseuse mentioned to see a physical therapist to help my lower back pain that I was complaining about as she said it was coming from my glutes, legs, knees. I've seen a couple of masseuses in the last two years in the states and one in Canada and NONE had ever even mentioned that that could help. I love this! Very professional staff. The spa also very serene with sauna, jacuzzi, and pool. They have a door to the garden which I'm assuming is beautiful in summer but I was here in February so it was freezing! When I checked out it was with Lisa again and she was great as usual and the guys helped me with my bags again when my uber came. They let me sit in the other room and said they'd let me know when it was here. Very nice. I did not want to leave. Haha!
