Jay from Norman's Home Improvements made the decision easier for us, as he was thoughtful and willing to discuss our possible plumbing issues right away, before even booking an appointment. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Norman's to anyone who was looking for assistance. Our experience was a good one, and our issue was resolved with one visit. The total cost was especially reasonable, and we feel we learned a lot in the process - it is always a great thing when someone is willing to explain things to you and answer questions, versus just completing the job. I reached out to numerous plumbers and companies, but Jay's response stood out right away. While most people were happy to give me a (fairly high) ballpark quote which left me wondering if I would be taken advantage of for my lack of plumbing knowledge, Jay was happy to discuss the possibilities of why our kitchen sink had stopped working for no apparent reason ahead of time, before even booking an appointment. He was able to come take a look at our sink just a couple of days later, on a Friday evening. He spent some time discussing the plumbing of our house with us in general, which was extremely helpful as we only moved a few weeks ago. He was happy to answer questions and make sure we understood things, which we really appreciated. He was professional and explained the cost ahead of time after diagnosing the issue and prior to completing additional work beyond the base service fee for the visit. Norman's Home Improvements was a good first experience for us, and I would gladly hire them in the future for additional work. In addition to plumbing, they also do work on electrical, HVAC, and carpentry. We would highly recommend Norman's and we especially appreciated the willingness to not only perform the work but explain the process to us as well.

My husband hired Todd to install an attic access door in our garage. We purchased and picked up the…read moredoor ourselves. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the quality of the installation and the attention to detail. When Todd began the installation, he did not place a drop cloth over our garage shelving, resulting in sawdust being spread all over the shelves and surrounding area. Our garage is very clearly kept clean, so this was frustrating. After the installation was complete, I asked Todd to demonstrate that the ladder pulled down and functioned properly. When he did, the ladder hit our shelving unit, which was directly underneath the access door, and scuffed the newly installed door. Todd stated that the ladder had worked properly when he installed it. However, during the installation he had removed the 2-inch installation portion from the ladder, which affected how it operated. He told me that removing the top shelf from our storage rack should resolve the issue. After removing the top shelf, we inspected the installation more closely. We found several significant workmanship issues: * There were approximately 1-inch gaps between the access door and the attic beams, and these gaps had not been shimmed. * Only the minimum number of screws had been used to secure the access door, despite the fact that those screws were essentially what was supporting the ladder and the weight of anyone using it. * The anchors that came with the access door had not been installed. * The framing around the access door was visibly crooked, indicating that the opening had not been measured and cut accurately. We contacted Todd about these issues, and he did return to make corrections. However, during the repair, he added wood to bridge the gaps but then failed to reinstall two of the required screws in the access door. Ultimately, we were left having to inspect the installation ourselves and identify problems that should have been caught by the person performing the work. If you hire Todd, I would strongly recommend having a good understanding of the job yourself and carefully inspecting his work afterward to make sure everything has been installed correctly and securely. Based on our experience, we would not hire him again.

He never pressured me into rushing to get the service done and he worked around my schedule. He called me halfway to my service date to see if I had any questions and to let me know that he didn't skip town with my money lol. That is something I truly appreciate since i went a few months before having my roof finished. His team made it to my home early setup and ready to work at 0700 and by 0815 when i was walking my son to school they had already stripped my roof. His team made sure I was good with the noise and music even though they were working on my roof they went out their way to make sure they weren't disturbing me. These guys finished my home in one day when others projected three days. They also swept my entire yard with a magnet to search for any nails or staples.
