Just writing this review makes me smileI dropped in here the other day to get some pansies. Well I…read moreleft with a trunk full of goodies! This is a great place to find local plants and flowers that will thrive in your garden. They have unique garden decor and pottery. I was able to get two really hard to buy for people birthday gifts. They have fresh fruit, veggies, nuts, and other food items that you cannot find at awalmart. For Fall decorating, you could not ask for a better place. The hay bells, unique pumpkins, and other fall fun is available. Even before we moved to Weatherford, we would drive here just to visit and this was a must stop on our list. If I need some retail therapy, to treat myself, of a special gift, you can bet I am going here. They have such friendly staff. The prices are mostly fair too You are highly likely to catch me here. Make sure and tell them Ashley sent you and that I said I would be back soon!

Going to a farmers market you go with an expectation that you are getting local grown products,…read moreright? Well, today I saw that is a lie, I'm paying a farmers market price mark up for the same berries and things I could walk across the street and get at the big name grocery store. As I stood there in awe watching the girl take the strawberries from the plastic containers "from California" on the side- great from the poison insecticide place I was trying to avoid- and putting them into cute baskets to charge me 350% more I guess I will stop believing this is local and just go to the grocery store. This was really sad to see this place isn't shooting local farmers and selling local produce just the same stuff you can find at the store for less and get the same insecticide sprayed produce at less cost. There are some local products (honey and canned goods) but the produce and things are straight from the grocery store and made to "look" local.

Steve's is apparently THE 'Meat Market' in this sleepy burg just to the far northwest of anywhere…read more We found out about Steve's after asking around at the BBQ joint up the street because we needed some peppered beef jerky to keep us rolling on our 2 day road trip. I figured that this was a good a place as any to ask, because meat heads in these towns usually stick together. Located just a few blocks north in an unassuming building on the main strip going through town, I found it curious that a meat market this small could be a going concern. We parked and walked to the door. As we entered to the 'tinkle-tinkle' of a little bell, we found the meat counter to be impressively stocked and prices quite reasonable. Everything was quiet. Too quiet. To our surprise, the clock suddenly struck high noon! Twelve bells!! For the jerky, the guy at the BBQ joint said 'you gotta talk to Steve personally'. So we asked the young man at the counter for Steve, the helper said "SShhhh!!" and we were quietly shuffled right back out the front door. He whispered that 'Steve' works in the back and he STFD. And locked it. WTH?? Really??!! So knowing we are desperate for a dried meat fix, we went to try the back door. We knocked three times and the door opened - but cracked only slightly. A pale man in a ball cap held out his hand, but said nothing. I fumbled for $10, handed it to the man and he quickly gave me the 'product' in a brown paper sack. The door slammed shut...locked tight. As the hair stood up on the back of my neck, I dared not open the bag - we just looked at each other, ran to the car, got in and hauled azz. Once out of town, the bag was opened....dried, peppery, chewy/crunchy....yep....THIS was the real deal. Just remember to knock three times.
