I had an Amazon package - large box with an office chair in it - that was undeliverable to my mailbox because my mailbox is full!!!!Seriously? It's a chair! It should be delivered to my front door as contracted with Amazon. I have even tried to change delivery choices w Amazon to delete the USPS in Bandera, based on their inability to do their job! I totally despise having to fight this again now that I have returned from living in Salado! The service has gotten worse than before, if that is even possible, and the delivery service is horrible! I could order something, in Salado at midnight, and that item would be delivered between 4a and 8a to my front door! How I miss the service and efficiency! USPS Bandera Texas doesn't seem to answer their phone, so good luck trying. Six calls to them in the morning averaged 5 minutes before automatically disconnected or someone hung-up on me. USPS Bandera doesn't offer delivery to private letter boxes (your mail box.) Instead, they will try to charge you for a post office box. Helpful tip from Bandera City Secretary. If you move to Bandera Texas and have water & trash service with them, they can print a sort of 'proof of residency' form. By law the USPS cannot charge for a PO Box if you live there and they don't deliver mail to actual mailboxes inside the city. Bandera City Administration: 5 stars. Bandera USPS ability to answer their phone: zero; they don't seem to do this. Bandera mail delivery to your home: Zero. They don't deliver mail inside the city. This oddity can be more than just an inconvenience. New Texas Driver License or one with new address? DPS will mail to address on your license. Where official mail from State of Texas goes to Bandera USPS is anyone's guess. What a mess! read more

Never answer the phone and always losing packages... when you go by to track a package they cannot find it and will tell you that it is on the carriers vehicle. But yet the carrier will tell you they don't have it because they did not have enough room on the vehicle. read more

My mom tried to pick up a package for my dad for Father's Day. She went to the area where you can pick up packages and there was a man listening to very loud music. So my mom banged on the door. Something is wrong with their phone! Every time I try to call they never answer, it goes to a fax or something else! I can NEVER get ahold of anyone. I've had trouble contacting them since I moved here a few years back. They need someone answering the phone. Some very important mail of mine got returned to the sender and I had to go through all kinds of stuff because of this and it took a very long time to get that back right. They never told me why they returned my mail to this company but after trying to get ahold of them for days and then when I finally did they said oh idk sorry! And that was it. The people here are idiots. And we wonder where our tax money goes. I came in with my mom, and the idiot at the counter couldn't find a customer's mail. 20 minutes later, another employee wheels 2 giant carts of mail, and this dumbass at the counter is still fretting on why she was too stupid to find their mail. Needless to say, it took mom and I 35 minutes to ship 2 packages - 20 minutes in line, and 15 minutes for this dumbass to ring us up. Where does the buck stop ?? The post master, perhaps ?? Oh yeah, government workers..I forgot ! I sent a Xmas card to a cousin in the Cedar Creek Nursing Home with their physical address on the envelope (been doing this for years I might add ) and it was returned to me in West Texas. I called thinking perhaps my cousin had passed away and no one informed me, but no, the facility now uses a PO Box for their mail and the post office help could not even put the card over in their PO box for delivery. How very stupid can we get ?? I wonder how many more patients did not receive Xmas cards this year because of their ineptness? Sad! I recently sent a letter to an established automotive business on Hwy 173 North in Bandera. The address was labelled clearly, with the correct zip code, in an appropriate size legal envelope and the correct amount of postage. The letter was returned to me in San Antonio with the yellow USPS return label stating, "Return to Sender, No Mail Receptacle, Unable to Forward". The business is less than one mile from the USPS in Bandera on the same highway as the post office. This is very strange and very unlike the USPS. What's up Postmaster? read more

I moved from Boerne where the post office is horrible and looses all your stuff but since living in Bandera for almost a year I love the people there they always have my packages and if I need a package placed in a lock box they will do it no problem. read more

Totally useless, I placed and order through Amazon and the package was shipped via USPS. My package arrived at the Bandera Post Office and was out for delivery. Around 2pm I received a message from Amazon that my my package was undeliverable due to location unknown. Well my address is listed on google maps and I've never had any delivery issues with UPS or FEDEX. Funny they can find my house. Any time I have a package I do not get it unless I have to go to the post office my self. I have requested re delivery and they refuse to redeliver. I have also "received" packages that were never actually left for me. It was marked delivered and taken back to the post office for me to pick up. I live 100 ft across the street and the policy is not to leave at the front door if it is over a mile away. I think that does not apply to me. I wish the Bandera Post office had better customer service. They do not even answer there phone or respond to complaints to the main USPS anymore. read more
