Additionally, we needed a garage fan installed in gable of garage for airflow. The team did all this, and even came back a few days later to confirm fan louvers were closing as intended when fan turns off (for a moment, looked like they weren't working properly so we let Sun Glow know). They also had a plumber come out to do a quick fix on a bathroom faucet that had gone askew when Electricians were installing new wall outlet. Sun Glow wasn't the least expensive of all quotes we got, but as new and first time homeowners, you have to make a decision to invest in your house for yourselves in the now and for potential sale in the future. They had good representation and presence on Yelp, Google, and Angi's listing, showing longevity and commitment to tasks and efforts for quality service. So, yeah, we went with Sun Glow and now we have the satisfaction that things were done to code, and we know if anything did go wrong (related in scope of work) they'd be sure to come out and fix it. I called to get 3 pendent lights replaced. They said it would take 2.5 hours or more, which I…read moredoubted as it was fairly straightforward. The guy did it in about an hour, which is what I expected. He asked if I had anything else, and I mentioned that I'd like 2 new outlets on the other side of the wall from an existing g light switch. He said it was quick and easy since the light switches were right there. I asked about the cost and he said it would be quick and it would just be his time. The work was solid. The communication was not. I received a shockingly high bill with additional charges that had not previously been discussed. In effect charged me almost $400 to install those 2 outlets just on the other side of the same wall. No attic, crawlspace, or panel work. I emailed them asking about the high fees and extra charges, she said that was standard for them. I paid the bill and then went to leave a review. I would not have had him do the outlets had I known, and would have ended the job with the pendent lights. When I left a review reflecting this experience, they accused me of trying to convince them to do work without a permit, putting their license in jeopardy. Completely false - I only questioned the permit fees when I received the bill, as no one had mentioned it. The level of customer service, lack of communication, and vindictiveness was shocking. Would not use them again because of this.

I wasn't expecting to be able to get an appointment so quickly. Tristin and Gannon were the service technicians that completed the project. I needed to change one outlet to a 3-prong and had two outlets and a light switch that had stopped working and then started working about a week or so later. They replaced the outlets and, because they weren't grounded and didn't have a ground wire, they used two GFCIs to ensure safety and one regular outlets. They were very professional and personable, and explained everything clearly. I highly recommend this company for any electrical work that you need. They are prompt, professional, and very reasonably priced. I will be calling them again when I figure out where I want some additional outlets and built-in lighting.

I want to update that review because Portland Metro Electric ultimately went above and beyond to address my concerns. I originally called because I was experiencing flickering lights and was concerned that several appliances seemed to be having problems at the same time. The electrician evaluated my electrical panel and did not find a problem with it. During the visit, he suggested adding a whole-house surge protector as an additional precaution, and I agreed to have it installed. Afterward, I had concerns about the $450 charge for the surge protector, as well as the fact that I wasn't informed about the 3% credit-card fee until I was ready to pay. I contacted the company and explained my concerns. The owner took my concerns seriously and ultimately provided a total adjustment of $450. I genuinely appreciate that he was willing to listen, work with me, and continue addressing the situation rather than simply dismissing my concerns. While I wasn't completely satisfied with the initial experience, I am very satisfied with how Portland Metro Electric ultimately handled my concerns. They demonstrated that they care about their customers and are willing to make things right when a customer feels something wasn't handled appropriately. I'm updating my review to five stars because of the way the company ultimately stood behind its service and worked with me to reach a resolution.
