Are YOU ready? H*ll…read moreyeah! D*mn Right! Hotty Toddy, Gosh Almighty, Who the H*ll are we! Hey! Flim, Flam, Bim Bam, Ole Miss By D*mn! It took me nearly the whole season to remember that chant! Well, it's true, this girl is officially a college football fanatic! I've been to quite a few College Football Stadiums, so giving this stadium a review is warranted! Let's start off by saying how fantastic the fans are. Opening game we ventured to the square before going to the grove and we thought we were in a whole movie! I'm a Barbie girl in a Barbie world? Yeah, if you watched the movie Oxford, MS is giving natural beauty in the residents and guest who come here! On to the stadium, let's get into it! Fan Base - These rebels are dynamite! Super nice people and bet ya, they all say "Hotty Totty". Food Choices - Literally have anything you want! For those who are new, bottle sodas are in the lower section area, grab and go! Super convenient! Fountain Sodas? Go to the top! Seats - If you have no tooshie fret NOT. They rent out nice comfortable portable seats to enhance your experience and comfort. View - Clearly the Vaught has great donors so if you leave your eyeglasses at home you're in luck! They have BIG HUGE screens that you can look at! This little town makes their smaller stadium look BIG! Technology is on point! I can't complain! Kudos to this stadium.

Visiting fans perspective. First time to Oxford. I have been to many SEC stadiums and campuses…read morebut this was the first time here. If you are going to tailgate, the only place to do it is in the Grove. We tailgated at the basketball arena parking lot and there were zero people there. Everyone was at the Grove. Parking was about as easy as any SEC game I have ever been to. Be sure to get a parking pass (stub hub or other places) to take make it a better experience. Traffic, pre and post game, was about the easiest I have ever experienced. The traffic management worked very well. We got in and out without any problems. The Grove exceeds expectations. Hundreds of tents all packed into a few acres on the grounds of the university. The amount of people is overwhelming. I found it difficult to socialize due to the mass of humanity but it made for a great people watching experience. Vaught-Hemingway stadium was nice. I felt the logistics of the stadium was much better than most. You can walk all the way around on the inside. The vendor food and drinks was respectable. I did love the vendors walking around the stands selling drinks. Very convenient. The stadium atmosphere wasn't bad. I thought they did a good job showing scores of other games. The large video screen was okay. The in stadium wi-fi worked okay. The Ole Miss fans were friendly. You don't have the same jackassery as you do at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge.

Does it count if I visit Davis Wade Stadium but don't actually attend a game??…read moreAccording to my friend Chris, it does NOT COUNT! C'mon Chris really?!?! But in my book, yes, it's a check off the list! So yesterday, on a beautiful spring morning in Starkville, Mississippi, I showed up on the campus of Mississippi State University and walked around Davis Wade Stadium. And for those who are familiar with TikTok, G-Fed tours every D-1 college football stadium (not on game days) and gets credit for it. Now it's my turn, lol. Davis Wade sits in the middle of Mississippi State's campus. First up from the parking lot, you have an undisturbed view of the home side of the stadium. It's perfect for a picture moment with Mississippi State's big "M" logo highlighting this section. Also noticeable were a few banners hanging parallel to the "M" State logo of their famous alumni now succeeding in the NFL. Players like Dak Prescott, Darius Slay and Chris Jones. Walking to the right hand side is the first of two end zones. And this is where things got dramatic, real fast (yes for me being a college football fan, lol)... Mississippi State's lettering was boldly painted behind the end zone scoreboard. Now...if you follow the brick path away from the scoreboard, you approach a statue of their mascot, the bulldog. Then if you turn around for a picture, you not only get the bulldog mascot, but you capture the Mississippi State signed scoreboard in the background too. Within one frame, they make a terrific college football stadium setting, with plenty of charming green grass and trees surrounding it all. I definitely took too many photos here, but I was having fun in the moment. And...for 11am on a Sunday, the campus was quiet and I didn't have to contend with students interfering with my picture taking, lol. Moving on...the horizontal back section of the stadium didn't offer much. I walked past a police station but at least there were more trees and grass to admire (which I didn't mind, lol). Lastly, the second end zone showcased a simple brick building facade. It had an old fashioned feel to it. Underneath the awning representing this end zone were large puzzle pieces embedded into the pavement comprising all the counties that make up Mississippi. It was interesting to observe. And Starkville is located towards the northeast section of the state. Then finally, the walk around felt like a mission successfully completed (from my pov, hahaha). It didn't take long. I finished in under 90 minutes and that was slowly taking my time. Here are some extra thoughts... - I wasn't able to get glimpses inside Davis Wade Stadium or onto the field from outside. - I parked in the front parking lot, but come game days, that won't be feasible whatsoever. - According to Google, Davis Wade Stadium only holds 61,000 seats, but by the looks of walking around, I would think it could pack in a lot more fans, maybe 80,000 - 90,000. - I hope to attend a game someday in the future. There's nothing like SEC football. The best players from the best conference in the country with some of the best stadium atmospheres. And I'd love to hear those iconic cow bells ringing all game long. Overall, I'm glad I made the effort to stop at Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville, MS. For me as a college football fan, I've watched plenty of games on television, but to actually be here with my own two feet and standing on Mississippi State's campus, in person, was a huge thrill whether there was a game being played or not. Thanks for having me Bulldogs!

At Ole Miss, in the famous Grove, "F*CK YOU AGGIES" was yelled at me - more than once - while carrying my young daughter on my shoulders. At the game, Ole Miss fans spit sunflower seeds on my wife and son. Very classy. At Mississippi State, we enjoyed touring the beautiful campus, stopping to see the Grant and Lincoln collections at the library. We were among State fans a lot, at Bulldog Burger before the game and in a State section of the stadium. To the last person, everyone was friendly or least polite. I would be at 5 stars if not for cowbells! I didn't have preconceptions about these schools before, but now there's only one thing left to say. HAIL STATE!

Walked right up to the ticket booth and hubby and I both being military was able to get in for $5 each. Security checked us in with ease (no drama) and I got to bring in my small Spider-Man umbrella (I don't do direct sunlight) which totally made my day. We had two friends with us and we don't ride anything but we love to walk around, people watch, eat, laugh, eat, talk to the vendors, eat more. The setup was excellent. Indoor vendors (not a lot) but they all had some great prices on their items. We had fun talking and I think hubby got talked into buying something for the tv! Lol! We had a nice cool area to sit down in with huge tables and chairs where we ate our fried bologna sandwich (oooh sooo good) and fried oreos (ooh even better)! This fair is quite a bit smaller than the Delta Fair but we all agreed that we liked this one better because we had a chance to walk around without the crowds and the food was still good. The kids that were here early were able to ride without standing in line. We didn't have to wait in line for food or the bathrooms. Oh and speaking of the bathrooms-you might want to bring your own wipes, paper, sanitizer or whatever you use. I keep an arsenal of stuff with me so I'm good but the bathrooms were not as clean as they could have been. Other than that everything was great. At around 2 we started to leave as the crowd started moving in which worked out great. We will definitely return next year.

High rise apartments for baseball weekend rental have balconies looking out on Right Field. Statues of Bulldog legends, such as Will Clark & Rafael Palmeiro, stand outside the entrance The fan base at Mississippi State is legendary for its love of baseball. They drive or fly long distances to follow our Diamond Dawgs. The closest the team has played to me was the 2013 Super Regional at UVA. I spent the weekend in Charlottesville loving the opportunity to watch my Bulldogs sweep the Cavaliers. But there is no post season game location better than The Dude. The many College World Series the team has participated in have drawn large crowds from both Starkville and graduates and fans from across the country. The Bulldogs won the College World Series in 2021 by defeating fellow SEC powerhouse Vanderbilt. The team has sent many players to both the Minors & Major League Baseball. I enjoy following our grads on television, some of whom I have watched in person during their professional career. I've taken my Grandson to the ballpark in Brooklyn to watch and meet one of our Bulldog legends Jake Magnum, who now play for Pittsburgh. Jordan Westburg played for the Norfolk Tides before reaching our Baltimore Orioles. I'm sorry to report that The Dude wasn't built until after I graduated. My roommates & I watched the game from a much smaller ballpark. I especially enjoyed cheering on a group of starters that I tutored through Music Appreciation in 1967. What fun it was! Regardless of your college affiliation you will enjoy tuning your television to watch a game at The Dude. You won't regret it.

In addition to the high caliber baseball played at the stadium, Dudy Noble holds most of the all-time attendance records for the college game. With a capacity for 15,000 fans to attend, DNF creates a unique chance for a college ballplayer to experience a big crowd. The history and tradition are second to none. John Grisham has written about the uniqueness of DNF. One of my favorite experiences is seeing a player from another school step on to the field and get chills from the noise of the fans. In the tradition of good sportsmanship, the Bulldog supporters will feed the players after the game is over. Tailgating in the "Lounge" is another tradition that defines Dudy Noble. Fans will bring in grills and cookout all game long. At times, the smoke can wander onto the field and create a bit of a fog. The players do not typically mind as it is a reminder of the food waiting to greet them later. If you ever have the opportunity to visit Starkville in the spring, please go to a baseball game. Dudy Noble Field is full of passionate fans who really know the game and will overwhelm you with hospitality. The baseball is quite good too!
