Bigger stadium style seating, better projection, and higher quality sound, with Dolby Atmos offerings for certain films. That said, you're going to pay for it. Whereas a late showing at Cinemark runs $9.50- $9.75 (as of 26 May 25), Malco is charging $11.25-$11.75. On Tuesday specials, you have a similar gap, with Cinemark around $5, and Malco around $7. I generally find this reasonable given the differences. We swung by on Memorial Day during a busy opening, holiday extended weekend. Booking online (and having to pay extra for it) helps get past any lines, and skip to the kiosk. Like most modern theaters, there's no traditional movie stubs; rather cheap receipt paper tickets, about as thin as toilet paper. Being a stub collector I find this disappointing, but again I can't ding them for it, as it's par for the course with most theatres. The staff was courteous, and the theater clean. Until that point I was sitting on five (5) stars ... unfortunately I cannot ignore or forgive the state of disrepair my "luxury" seat was in (picture included; House 5, Row J). And the two (2) next to it, weren't far behind, so it clearly wasn't a one (1) off. This is not something that gets accidentally missed, nor something that happened suddenly. Because of that, I can't get past a two (2). However, being a film lover, I will try again in about a month, booking the same House, to see if there are any changes. As a bit of a theatre fanatic, I have high standards when it comes to my movie going experience. Malco Tupelo Commons meets my expectations, but doesn't not go as far as exceeding them. The staff is generally friendly and accommodating, thought a bit slow (time counts when those process are running out!) The popcorn is always warm and fresh, and they have a great stock of snacks and candy available! The theatres are usually really clean and the seats are very comfortable; the last time I went my seat was broken however and would not raise the footrest. The bathrooms are kind of dark but generally clean. Pro tip: buy your tickets in advance! You'll get your pick of seats and pay a little less! read more

I will say I was a bit tentative coming here after seeing other reviews but I'm so glad I did! Every employee I spoke to before watching the film was super polite, 10/10 customer service. I wish I remembered their names. The food was SUPER good, I got the boneless chicken and fries tossed in buffalo sauce and I'm craving it right now writing this post. Funnel cake fries were delicious as well. Our food was delivered to our seats for an extra dollar and arrived pretty quickly! The seats are ridiculously comfortable, and I loved being able to recline back and fully enjoy the movie. I have no complaints and will be coming back again. read more

We came here as the ultimate finale of celebrating my 50th Birthday with Elvis! Last pit stop after traveling from Graceland in Memphis TN to his birthplace in Tupelo. After having a dough burger at Johnnie's drive in, this theatre was highly recommended as SAFER than watching in the evening at Malco in Memphis. We watched ELVIS the movie and flew back to California early the next morning, only to realize my second picture cell phone fell from my pocket lounging in their super comfy recliners. I called the manager and was able to have them ship it back to me the following week. I was so appreciative because this held so many sentimental memories of my trip. The theatre itself was nice, the management leaves alot to be desired. First I asked for a bottle of water which they were out of so they charged me $5.69 for a small cup of water, I had a child with me that wouldn't drink their soft drinks. Then we come out of the movie and go to the bathroom and there is absolutely no soap to wash your hands with. I asked the manager behind the counter and was told the truck hadn't run. I told him there are stores all around him. A late truck should not be a valid excuse to not have necessary items for their customers especially with the prices! 1 adult and 2 kids and I paid over $53 just for 2 drinks, 1 water, 1 popcorn and 3 afternoon matinee tickets. Concessions were maybe 2 stars. Popcorn was full of seeds, but they had good bags and the service was prompt. That's the best part of this theatre. The theaters themselves were ok, if a bit dirty. I'm pretty sure my son's seat had gum on the headrest. Luckily he was too short to get it in his hair. The projection was fine, but it's all digital now so not a big accomplishment. The biggest shock was the bathrooms. I took my son to the men's room and it smelled like a murder had occurred there, that the body had been left there for a month, that someone with IBS had eaten the body, then crapped it out into the vents. Management or corporate need to get a hold on this place. No security and no one pays for the movie. It was sooo many people who did not pay for Candyman movie. A lot of people walked in and just sat wherever they decided. No one checked to physically see if people bought actual tickets. More then likely will never go here again. read more

The only theatre in Tupelo with stadium seating. This location has been around for 7 years, and is kept up much better than the other theatre in town. Now that they have added a self serve ticket kiosk, it is much easier to order tickets online and pick them up at the theatre. Great seats, great popcorn and great picture. Nice from the outside, nice lobby, nice theaters, seats are amazing, all is clean and wonderful until you walk in the bathrooms. And then you're immediately assaulted by the overwhelming scent of piss like the floors and walls are saturated with it and no one has ever cleaned an inch of it one day of its existence. Walmart's bathrooms are cleaner than this place and they're usually the worst. So go see a movie, just hold your pee, unless you can hold your breath. But even if you hold your breath make sure you have a bucket of sanitizer with you because you'll probably want a bath in it. Or just go see a movie somewhere else. read more

I've tried to go to this theater several times, but still have never gotten to watch a movie there yet. They list their movies and show times online. The only problem is that they aren't accurate at all. Sometimes they show they are playing movies they've never even possessed. The one time I almost got to see a movie there I was told that I could see the movie, but I would not be allowed to sit next to my significant other because of assigned seats... Great Theater! Just saw Deadpool 2 and the movie was great. The staff was friendly and the popcorn was great. There was a problem where some guy was assigned the same seats as us and we had to get distributed for a minute but all was fine and everything worked out. LOVE the new lounge seats!! The concession stand pricing is typical of other theaters I have visited, expensive for what you get but not out of line with the industry. This Malco is such a huge step up from the other theater in town. It doesn't smell bad, the seats are comfy, and the theaters are fairly spacious. There's plenty of parking, and a Dipping Dots in the lobby, when it works. Bathrooms are always pretty clean, and service is usually friendly. The concessions have normal, escalated movie theater prices - not going to escape that, but they do have some bundled deals that seem good if you're into that. read more

I stopped by on my way through town to see a film, and enjoyed every minute of the movie I saw. The staff are nice and friendly, and the popcorn was fresh!
