Well, it's true, this girl is officially a college football fanatic! I've been to quite a few College Football Stadiums, so giving this stadium a review is warranted! Let's start off by saying how fantastic the fans are. Opening game we ventured to the square before going to the grove and we thought we were in a whole movie! I'm a Barbie girl in a Barbie world? Yeah, if you watched the movie Oxford, MS is giving natural beauty in the residents and guest who come here! On to the stadium, let's get into it! Fan Base - These rebels are dynamite! Super nice people and bet ya, they all say "Hotty Totty". Food Choices - Literally have anything you want! For those who are new, bottle sodas are in the lower section area, grab and go! Super convenient! Fountain Sodas? Go to the top! Seats - If you have no tooshie fret NOT. They rent out nice comfortable portable seats to enhance your experience and comfort. View - Clearly the Vaught has great donors so if you leave your eyeglasses at home you're in luck! They have BIG HUGE screens that you can look at! This little town makes their smaller stadium look BIG! Technology is on point! I can't complain! Kudos to this stadium. read more

Visiting fans perspective. First time to Oxford. I have been to many SEC stadiums and campuses but this was the first time here. If you are going to tailgate, the only place to do it is in the Grove. We tailgated at the basketball arena parking lot and there were zero people there. Everyone was at the Grove. Parking was about as easy as any SEC game I have ever been to. Be sure to get a parking pass (stub hub or other places) to take make it a better experience. Traffic, pre and post game, was about the easiest I have ever experienced. The traffic management worked very well. We got in and out without any problems. The Grove exceeds expectations. Hundreds of tents all packed into a few acres on the grounds of the university. The amount of people is overwhelming. I found it difficult to socialize due to the mass of humanity but it made for a great people watching experience. Vaught-Hemingway stadium was nice. I felt the logistics of the stadium was much better than most. You can walk all the way around on the inside. The vendor food and drinks was respectable. I did love the vendors walking around the stands selling drinks. Very convenient. The stadium atmosphere wasn't bad. I thought they did a good job showing scores of other games. The large video screen was okay. The in stadium wi-fi worked okay. The Ole Miss fans were friendly. You don't have the same jackassery as you do at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge. read more

Goooooo rebs! I have now witnessed the eighth wonder of the world, which apparently is the Ole Miss Hotty Toddy. This is the most fun football chant, which can be heard echoing across Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. Although I did not participate in tailgating prior to the game at the famed Grove, I did still have a blast here. The stadium is picturesque, the food/drink options were good, the bathrooms were clean and the staff were nice. We came to see the Auburn/Ole Miss game and unfortunately Auburn stomped the rebels. However, there was still plenty of entertainment between the chanting, the marching band and the energy in the stadium. One of the better SEC football experiences I've had! On a side note (which has nothing to do with the actual stadium), the parking was atrocious. We waited in intense game day traffic before finally paying some guy at an apartment complex to park there. Be prepared to arrive early enough to deal with this fiasco! read more

The stadium is built to where the seats are further back from the field than you would like. Atmosphere was good but not up to par with the rest of the SEC. The stadium is smaller than most. The Grove is a must see. Pick a big game (Alabama, LSU, Egg Bowl) to get the best atmosphere otherwise you will be wasting your time here. read more

Having now been to games in Oxford and Starkville, the experiences could hardly have been more different. At Ole Miss, in the famous Grove, "F*CK YOU AGGIES" was yelled at me - more than once - while carrying my young daughter on my shoulders. At the game, Ole Miss fans spit sunflower seeds on my wife and son. Very classy. At Mississippi State, we enjoyed touring the beautiful campus, stopping to see the Grant and Lincoln collections at the library. We were among State fans a lot, at Bulldog Burger before the game and in a State section of the stadium. To the last person, everyone was friendly or least polite. I didn't have preconceptions about these schools before, but now there's only one thing left to say. HAIL STATE! read more

Jon Vaught (Dad of the lovely Angelina Jolie) decided to open his own stadium to win her back from Billy Bob Thornton. Unfortunately all it did was push her into Brad Pitt's arms. Hopefully not into Brad Pitt's armpits because that would be gross and clichéd too. So Oxford is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, I should know, I was born and raised there. The one in England is nice, too. First-Hand Experience: Info on my personal visit to this stadium - not my fave stadium in the world and the crowd wasn't as loud as I thought. I've now played 3 concerts in Oxford MS, none of them were in this stadium... haha. And the second and third time, I visited this stadium before or after my show. I do love it because it's a gem in a tiny little sleepy place like Oxford, but I don't think it's one of the best stadiums in the country, not even close. Also they don't sell alcohol here which is unusual. And the stadium doesn't look as big on the inside as it does on TV. I've been to every cool stadium in the UK & North America, due to my obsession with travel & sport. I've toured America as a musician for 7 or 8 years. In that time, I've seen sports games at, or visited when empty (and usually both), at almost every major stadium in US and Canada. I have pictures of most which I will upload at some point. Also, on future travels, I plan to take new pix, and add more stadia! Watch this space! ***back to regular review*** This 60.5k seat stadium is one of the best in the South, with a really intense atmosphere for watching Ole Miss play, and of course Archie Manning once played here, and he spawned both Peyton and Eli (and three Superbowls). They also serve fried chicken here, how awesome. It needs to be a bit more bowled-in to get that 5th star, to intensify the atmosphere. read more

Geaux to Hell Ole Miss! Geaux to HELL!!!!! Attended the epic 2003 #3 LSU vs #15 Ole Miss game. If LSU won, they would have the inside shot to win the SEC-West and possible BCS Championship spot. If Ole Msis won, they would represent the SEC-West in the SECCG. The game featured nation's #1 ranked defense in LSU vs the eventual NFL #1 Draft pick and eventual Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning. Long story short....Defense Wins Championships, and Eli literally fell on his ass on a key 4th down late in the game. LSU 17 - Ole Miss 14 Until I go to a game at Mississippi State or Vanderbilt, Ole Miss will be the least impressive SEC stadium i've been to, to date. There is one part of the stadium where it's only bleachers. The kind of bleahcers you see at high school stadiums. Next, imagine how awesome it is to be standing under the bleachers with drinks dripping down from above. Well, Ole Miss puts half of the visiting fans in the bleachers with the concession stands underneath the bleachers. Awesome combo. Concessions: The line at halftime....45 minutes. I ended up missing the first 5 minutes of the 3rd quarter. What a half-assed way to do an expansion. Do it right! Misc: Banners hung up for non recognized National Championships. Although one of Ole Miss' teams did get screwed out of a championship for their '60 or '61 team. Ive seen pictures of a "2003 SEC West Champions" banner too. Whatever floats your boat. Tailgating is amazing though. It's is different than what we're used to at LSU, but definitely the most impressive tailgating scene I've been to outside of LSU. Definitely better than Florida and Tennessee. read more

Improvements to the stadium and the surrounding area over the last couple of years have been very nice. I'm glad they finally ripped that terrible turf up and put down some grass. However, the sound system continues to be atrocious. For some reason, they mike up the band but its off sync on the visitor's side and is always a few notes behind what the band is actually playing. Multiple times tonight you were also playing loud speaker music over the top of the band playing. Lastly, please fix the scoring for other games being showed on the score board. You showed 2016 scores all game for half of the games. Although, not a huge problem tonight because of the crowd size at the end of the game, parking/directing traffic post game is always a huge nightmare. I hope in the off-season you figured out last seasons problems. If not I will mentally prepare myself for 4 hours of sitting after the LSU game. read more

OK, well, now I HAVE been to a game at the Vaught. (Texas A&M beats Ole Miss in an epic nail-biter, 41-38.) It's a pretty good stadium with an excellent game-day atmosphere. It dumped buckets on the Grove right before I got there, but it was fun anyway. Fortunately, I was with an Ole Miss football player most of the time, so I was able to get drinks. Most people were very friendly if engaged, though most did not engage strangers (though to be fair, there were a ton of people there). A shout out to Bill Hall (I think was his name) who invited us to his tailgate and offered us all the beer and food we wanted. Very nice folks. The stadium itself is fairly old, and I was up in the end-zone bleachers with the rest of the Aggie fans. We were pretty loud (so I'm told by relatives who were in the Ole Miss portion of the stadium) but I'd have to say when Ole Miss mounted a comeback, the fans' "dee-fense" chant was the loudest I've ever heard (if only because Aggies don't use the "dee-fense" chant). You could tell the students had a good time taunting Johnny Football, though we got the last laugh. The fans are way louder and more into the game than the fans of that burnt-orangey school here in Austin. The outside of the stadium has a couple of chokepoints that make it hard to get around, but the ticket-takers are way faster than at A&M, and even with a huge line, we got into the stadium before the game started (not doing so makes me very nervous and unhappy). Vaught definitely lives up to its excellent gameday reputation. I'm sure it was rockin' even more the next Saturday when Ole Miss beat LSU. That would have been fun to see. It's also worth noting that I didn't get a single "Aggies suck" yelled at me before or after the game. Most fans were very friendly before and after the game, and we got a lot of congratulations when we left (I doubt Miss State or LSU get that treatment, but still, nice folks for the most part). Oh, and the "Walk of Champions" was fun to see close up (aforementioned player, a relative, was in it) and I appreciate the way Ole Miss kids slapped my back and said "good luck" as a sneaky way to stick Ole Miss stickers on the back of my Aggie jersey. Love the views from anywhere in the Stadium. Love the Rebels too. Only issue is that You Must use the exact entry gate on your ticket. Your not allowed to enter on the opposite side of the stadium and simply walk around the inside to your seats. read more

I've been to plenty of college football stadiums in my life, but hadn't gone to Oxford until recently. I was impressed with the place. It was a last-minute decision to take off and drive up there to catch a 8pm ESPN2 game. I didn't get there early enough to really take in The Grove, but I did walk through it a bit. I must say I was a little underwhelmed with The Grove... probably because I'd heard SO much about it over the years. It's much smaller than I imagined, and it seems like if it's raining, you could walk all over the place without getting out from under the droves of canopies and tents covering the grounds. I guess it simply wasn't what I expected. Back to the stadium, it's in a beautiful area, on a beautiful campus, next door to a really impressive baseball facility, and really nice inside. It doesn't have the largest seating capacity, but they've done really well with the place, considering. The fans are great, of course they dress to impress, and the girls are gorgeous (but then, that's pretty normal for the entire SEC). I'll definitely attend here again. read more
