I've been called the Banana King many times, but for totally different reasons. Anyway. I have a passionate loving relationship with banana king. I'm sad that several of locations have closed down. We're talking about a 24-hour Latin juice shop where they barely speak English and make all kinds of delicious and crazy drinks using foods that often you can only find in Latin America. So the five star rating is very obvious. The Maury or sonando drink is really interesting so I recommend starting with that one. It's the number one. read more

While working overnight in Patterson I was happy to find a restaurant open late that was not your typical fast food spot. I have to give it 3 stars, not for the food but because there were ants falling from the ceiling and I didn't realize until I got to my truck and had to shake my shirt off. The menu is a nice size of American and Mexican delicacy. I opted for a burger, fries and a lemonade. I'm not a huge burger fan but I wanted something simple because I was still working. Burgers just seem to be so simple to me. I don't think I've ever been wowed by a burger. Though it was not nasty, it was just a burger. The fries were crispy and crunchy how I like and the lemonade was very good. If I'm in the area again, I'll try the shakes and other food. Overall not bad. I've ordered from this Banana King via DoorDash several times, and I'm pleased to report that the food always holds up during transit. I love their shakes, and my go to is a mango orange shake. It does not lack flavor and is super refreshing. I do the combo with a chicken sandwich sans tomato. I love how crisp and panini-like the sandwich is. It doesn't have a life changing flavor, but it's still super delish with the melty cheese. A combo costs $12, minus the crazy DoorDash fees, and I think it's reasonably priced. I've also tried their empanadas, which are Colombian empanadas, and they're pretty good. Keep in mind that Colombian empanadas have a corn based shell, so they're slightly crunchier than your average empanada. I do have to deduct a star for the amount of greasiness that drips off the food and onto the packing. It's a little unsettling, but it's okay for a treat. read more

Honestly, I love Banana King. I always get their mango shake and my sister gets the strawberry shake. The steak sandwich is to die for because it is so delicious and you can add bacon to it. I also love the chicken empanadas and the steak empanadas. I always ask for the pink sauce to dip with the empanadas. Their pinchos are really good too but the steak can be a bit tough to chew. The wait can be a bit long so I recommend calling ahead to place your order and picking it up when it's ready. read more

This is my first time at Banana King, if always heard good things about the franchise but never had the opportunity to try it. This location offers curbside pick up, take out and outside dining. When I entered the resturant I was greeted with the most pleasant find smell. The dining room although closed, was very clean. My review is based on my shake/ smoothie. I ordered a banana flavored smoothie. The cashier asked if I wanted to drink blended with either water or milk which was very nice to ask. I asked if they had milk alternatives of which they didn't so I had my drink blended with water and added coconut milk at home. If you have never visited a Banana King location, I highly recommend you do! They are mainly knows for their shakes and have the quite the selection to chose from. All very good to be honest. I also think that their green and yellow décor makes it very easy to find them especially late at night lol Their menu offers typical Colombian style food that ranges from empanadas, sandwiches, arepas and even different size picadas...yum! I came here super late since they are open 24 hours after having a few drinks to satisfy that late night grease craving and was not disappointed. I order their Salchipapa which is French Fries served with Sliced Hot Dog with Pink Sauce drizzled on top and shared an Arepa Steak Sandwich. Both definitely hit the spot :) read more

This place was recommended to my by a coworker. What I like about this place is that it is open 24/7. We arrive at the location at about 2:30am and it was crowded. The food for the most part is reported to order. There are a few items sitting in the display case. It's no gourmet food, but a refind fast food. I've heard about this Colombian place for a while and also heard that this particular location is known for the best shakes. They have two locations in Paterson and others in Elizabeth and Jackson Heights. A group of us decided on our shakes. We selected Mamey (a fruit native to Central America and now also in south Florida), pineapple, passion fruit, and banana. Each was absolutely delicious in its own way! The mamey is sweet and tastes a bit like cantaloupe melon. The passion fruit was very tart and tasty. The rest tasted as expected. This location is on the corner of Madison and 21st, about 1 block from the popular Noches de Colombia. Perfect for dessert after dinner :-) All the street parking in this area is hit or miss but people tend to come and go frequently. I tried this place for the first time with a friend this week. I had the pernil sandwich with a mango shake and they had the Cuban sandwich with a guanabanana shake. Banana King is a Paterson staple for fast-food. It serves Colombian style fast food and rich shakes. We ordered the chicken empanada and a chocolate shake (with condensed milk). The service was fast and friendly. The empanada was delicious, chicken was well seasoned and the empanada was perfectly fried; not too oily and not to crispy. Empanadas are super tasty and usually my fav ones are the cheese and the beef.
