Unfortunately after spending 12 months living in India and South East Asia (and drinking a fair amount of sweetened masala chai each day) I came back to find out I needed 5 fillings - ouch! So it's with this in mind that every trip to the dentists is now a case of "God I hope this is just a quick in and out affair" and luckily it has been since the initial painful seatings! Manchester Dental Practice is situated just above the Ruby Lounge on the high street and the staff are always pretty friendly, the dentists and assistants are always pretty young guys and up for a chat/laugh. I've never has any problems with bookings here and you can change an appointment with 48 hours notice without being charged. They also have a hygienist that you can see at the same time as check ups if you book in advance!

Manchester Dental Practice is near my office and seemed to have the least arduous booking process of the city centre dentists - I turned up, filled in a form, paid a £10 deposit and was offered a pretty convenient appointment. My dentist was friendly and professional, as was his assistant. His advice on maintaining dental health was realistic and achievable, ie. you don't need to quit sugar just reduce how regularly you have sugary foods and drinks; try to floss 3x a week if you can't do it every day. He also didn't try to talk to me while I couldn't speak, which my old dentist always did, so annoying! Reception staff were all very friendly and helpful. Overall it was about as good a trip to the dentist as you could hope for!

They are a good dentists here and have an excellent service. They are known for their implants such as false teeth etc. So with a service like that, you know you are going to a well respected dentist. I had a polish here and have to say I was impressed with the results. The dentists are friendly and talkative and make sure you know how to brush your teeth properly and help you buy the right products for your teeth. They are great.

Formerly Ian Wood & Associates, Oasis took over the practice completely once he'd retired, and gave the building a thorough redecorating and rebranding. With dozens of practices across the country, they have a second local practice on Washway Road in Sale. They offer the full, typical range of services that most dentists do, from basic check ups through to orthodontics, as well as cosmetic procedures such as whitening. I'm not an NHS patient so pay full price for my 6-monthly check ups, but in the grand scheme of things it's a small price to pay to have a good set of teeth that'll hopefully be with you for life! Tip: you can currently park for free around the corner in the Warrener Street car park, though there are plans in place which could see it close for new development.

This dentist offers both NHS and private dental care which leads to a busy waiting room. Although they are often busy, they do usually see you within ten minutes or so of your appointment time. They say that if you're repeatedly late or miss appointments, they will refuse to see you - fortunately this hasn't happened to me yet! Along with your typical annual dental check up, the practice also offers private dental care including tooth whitening and metal-free crowns.They have their own care plan so you can attempt to afford the extortionate prices - no more than any other dentist, but still not cheap by any means!
