Best ribs I've ever had. The red velvet cake is a must!! You need to get there as soon as they open at noon because they sell out quickly

As a native Florida boy this was truly appreciated :-) The brisket was def above average for FL BBQ. The ribs were good, the smoke wings were very good. The sides were enjoyable too. I wasn't crazy about the bread - it was my only real issue here - which was minor. Johnson's is easily on my top 10 favorite BBQ spots in Florida! We loved the chopped Brisket! We will def be back ! Cheers !

BBQ: meat is really succulent. Tried both turkey and pulled pork on the Belly Buster sandwich. This comes with one side, sweet potato fries with cinnamon sugar for me! Bun was a little dry maybe because it was lightly toasted. Two sauces to choose from: original and sweet. Went with sweet which has a great taste but a tad runny. Fries were good and plentiful. Service is excellent. Employeee are friendly, this is Plant City of course. Drinks were readily filled. Food came out quick even with a packed restaurant. Original wait on a Friday around 6 was 25 minutes. Closed on Sunday for family time! Perfect spot to come if you're in town for the Strawberry Festival. Parking can be challenging and is a bit of a cluster. It is next to a commercial operation with employee parking, dumpsters and semi trucks everywhere. It also shares space with Fred's Market, another long-time southern all-u-can eat restaurant. If you can't find parking around the restaurant there is always diaganol parking along N. Alexander St.

And boy when I tell you this is some good dang barbecue! The brisket had some nice OAK smoke and tenderness, The pulled pork was also out of this world! I would have liked a little bit more vinegar and salt on my collard greens but they were great and Bethunes was protecting our blood pressure! LOL! The ribs were PHENOMENAL and the pull on the meat was just right and it melted in my mouth! It was obvious that the chicken was so good that they ran out of it before I got there but my friendsthat got there beforeme gave ittwo thumbs up! SMH! Their peach cobbler reminded me of my great aunts peach cobbler from South Carolina so it definitely won me over! I was able to wash everything down with Brian's special recipe of a Pineapple Tea that was SO FREAKIN GOOD That I had to buy another one to take home with me for my wife! Hands down some of the best barbecue that I've ever had in my life, AND I BARBECUE MYSELF! Also they have like 4 or 5 different bbq sauces and I grabbed the hot and spicey one to take home the flavor bomb for myself later! I highly recommend that you guys go online to try to figure out where Bethunes will be at next So that you can make your taste Buds Dance and be as happy as mine were! I promise you you won't forget or regret it! Thank you Brian and Amy for an AWESOME EXPERIENCE and I anxiously look forward to my next visit! YOU GUYS ROCK!

This would be my death row meal. And being a Texan, that's saying a lot! Best barbecue in Florida!!read more

I'm honestly torn on the rating for this place. We ordered through Uber Eats and they forgot one of…read morethe more expensive items in our bag. We called and they had great customer service and offered to let us come pick it up and throw in a dessert. However, when you've already paid for delivery and a tip, it's just really annoying. We are glad we did pick it up because the dirty dog was our favorite menu item and that was what was missing. My husband said the deconstructed rib sandwich was "ok". The Tampa 2 had so much potential, but the bread was soggy and the Mac and cheese really didn't have much flavor. My son did love his pulled pork sandwich and banana pudding. We're glad we tried it but would try something else next time.

The parking it tight, but I was able to get a spot in the few limited spaces. I can imagine parking can get dicey if it's super busy. It's a little tight inside too but luckily the majority of the indoor space is for seating. Order at the counter and they bring it out to you. The guy that took our orders started with all the item they were sold out of. Luckily, that didn't impact us too much. I ordered a two meat plate with pulled brisket, smoked turkey and two sides, tots and collard greens. My wife ordered pulled pork with mac and cheese and coleslaw. I would have preferred sliced brisket, but they were out of that. We also wanted to try the boiled peanuts, but that was also sold out. We grabbed a table. The food didn't take long. My BBQ plate looked pretty traditional, meats and sides laid out on a paper lined tray. Ample portions! Really good value for $18. The pulled brisket comes sauced. It was top quality, not fatty, moist and was exactly what I was looking for. This was excellent as is. The smoked turkey was also great. It was lean and smokey with a good bark on it. I topped this with their regular sweet house made BBQ sauce. The greens were cooked perfectly, tender with bits of meat in them, swimming in their own juices. The tots were crispy, crunchy and hit the spot for that fried bite. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our meal. It was filling and we had a great time of fellowship. I'd definitely come back here.
