I attended the Movement and Meditation class on Friday at 11am (as part of the deal) and got entry for just $4.10! I managed to find street parking right out front during this time. The entrance to the studio is tucked away in a little alley. When you walk in, you're warmly greeted by the colorful wallpaper, patterned tiled floor, and comfy lounge area. This building is very historical and looks to have been an old bible study building. You wouldn't think this would make for a good yoga studio but the high ceilings and large windows are just perfection! Elizabeth (owner and teacher) led the movement and meditation class expertly. It was a great class for centering myself and giving my body a rest since I mainly do vinyasa yoga and weight lifting. This particular class was super slow, gentle, and incorporated some releasing postures I had never tried before. I highly recommend paying a visit to Soulage! Your body and mind will thank you.

I think it's $17 for the average class, but they also offer $6 community classes that fill up so get there early! They also offer all of their classes by live stream for a lower cost if you prefer to practice at home! (They also offer membership and class pass options; I'm thinking of getting a class pack since it's a considerable savings!) I've only taken a class with one instructor so far (Billy J.), but I've loved his class so much, I'd love to try more instructors and more classes in the future. (I highly recommend Billy's hatha class; he and the class are approachable but the class is challenging and fun!) The building can be hard to find the first time but it's become part of why I love Yoga Union. It's in a small building tucked behind the light rail track and the new brewery in Woodberry. The only strange thing is that you have to cross the tracks to get to it. Pay attention to your GPS the first time, and you'll be fine! The building is pretty old - and it's sort of hot yoga by default (it warms up fast) - but not crazy hot or intentionally hot. You can hear the light rail trains go by which I find weirdly calming, too! The studio is just one room, with a check in area and a bathroom. The check in staff are very friendly. The classes I've taken have not been very crowded (unless a community class), and there has been room to spread out. It's easy to book and pay for classes online, too! I've enjoyed my experiences at Yoga Union, and I plan to keep practicing here regularly! Check it out!

Each instructor is down to earth, passionate about yoga and most importantly in my opinion are deeply dedicated to the study and practice about yoga. I take the Neo-Soul class that is mellow/chill. Dea takes her time, watches the students to see what their limitations are and works within those parameters. Some students are more flexible, others are better with balance. She deals w/ each of us one-on-one and as a group to keep us moving, stretching, and getting us to use muscles that hadn't been used much (for some of us). When I walked into the class, I couldn't balance on one leg at all. I'd fall over. Now, I can stand on one foot, I can touch my toes, I have become more flexible. I give my highest recommendation to the Che Yoga Mobile studio. Dea is personable and extremely kind and fair. She makes everyone feel welcome.

From the start, they did a great job making me feel prepared and welcomed. They provided clear, helpful information about what to expect as a first-timer and even what to bring--details that can make a big difference when you're new and unsure. This information is on their website but I also called ahead of time to verify. The studio itself is clean, fresh, and modern--an inviting space that feels great to work out in. The staff are quite kind, friendly, and well-organized. I appreciate how attentive and helpful they were during class. They gently stepped in with guidance when needed in a way that felt supportive --something I really appreciated. I've now taken two classes here: a reformer class and a hot Pilates class. Both were enjoyable in totally different ways, and I'd highly recommend trying both to see what works for you. Personally, I found a new joy with the reformer--it's such a unique and effective workout. But I also enjoyed the hot room, which offered an amazing sweat session and left me feeling less tense and well stretched from all the good blood flow. I'm so glad I started my Pilates journey here, and I definitely hope to return for more classes in the future!

I've also attended the Sound Bath & Meditation and the Rooted Breath & Body classes. The studio's atmosphere is welcoming, they have props (blocks, straps, boosters, etc) and the instructors create an encouraging space. I've never been that into Yoga but based on my recent experience and the sense of 'well-being' surrounding this space I think that's changing. It also helps that Sydney's instruction, cues and guidance make it accessible yet also encouraging to progress.

The teachers were good but I wanted more. I found Yatha Yoga by chance. The studio is absolutely beautiful and it felt right. I took my first class on Monday, December 29,2025 and I was challenged in ways that felt absolutely incredible. The individuals around me were so kind and the teacher was absolutely fabulous. I saw an ad in the Columbia Flier for free yoga, pilates, meditation, and Qigong classes being held…read moreon Sept 24-30. I decided on the iRest Yoga Nidra Guided Meditation that was led by Lucy held on Fri, Sept 28. You register online and they send registrants a confirmation and reminder email. I was grateful as they mentioned that the gps address is 8950 Old Annapolis Road and that the building faces Route 108 and that parking is located behind the building. Yoga mats, blankets, and pillows are all available for the session. Lucy starts the class by providing background information and the process for iRest Yoga Nidra. Then she walked around making sure that each participant looked comfortable by the way they were laying or sat. For me, she suggested putting a the pillow underneath my knees whereas I had laid it underneath my calves. That made it more comfortable. Lucy then began by telling us to notice the sounds around us such as the class next door, traffic, etc. Then she followed by having us relax different body parts and concentrating on our breathing. I had had a very stressful and frustrating day at work so I was really looking forward to this session. Although Lucy was a wonderful facilitator I found myself distracted and fidgety. I could not sit still, focus, or relax. All the more reason why I need take more yoga and meditation classes. I was closest to the wall that was next to a class in the next room. I would have preferred if it had been quieter. It was a bit distracting. The room was a bit chilly but I didn't want to use the blanket they offer because I'm a germophobe and I don't know how frequently the blankets get washed so being chilly could be one reason why I wasn't relaxed. Lastly, my fellow yogis who were so relaxed that they were snoring. My attention ended up being focused on that. I definitely need more mindfulness in my life. It was a great experience nonetheless. I highly recommend that everyone give it a try and take advantage of the free classes when they are offered. Namaste.
