After all was said and done I had a horrible dental abscess that caused the most excruciating pain that I have ever experienced in my life, and I blame this dental practice. Dr. Murphy spoke with me over the phone while I was in debilitating pain and had the nerve to suggest that he would "fit me in tomorrow for a trigger point injection". My initial interactions with Dr. Sirius were positive, and I developed a professional relationship with him due to his reputation as a prominent and respected dentist in the field, as well as my status as a police officer. However, I was disappointed to discover that Dr. Sirius informed me that the amount of work I required might exceed my dental coverage, which could result in additional expenses. Despite expressing my concern about surpassing my dental coverage, his team continued to schedule appointments for me to receive treatment, even though it was clear that I had surpassed my limit. This ultimately resulted in my incurring a debt of over $700, which left me feeling disheartened. I believe that Dr. Sirius and his team had the responsibility to inform me clearly and transparently that my upcoming procedure would not be covered by my insurance. As a result, I was left feeling as if I did not matter to the practice, and I now have a new dentist who prioritizes open communication and always informs me if a procedure will be covered by my insurance before treatment. We talked at length about different processes, and he referred me to an oral surgeon, Dr Richard Nessif, for further evaluation. In the meantime, we began the process of impressions, measurements and models. This process took 6 months with many appointments to get everything just right. At each appointment, which was usually a minimum of 45 minutes, I felt like I was his only patient. He never left me sitting by myself, waiting for his return. And if he had to step out of the room, his assistant was there in case I needed anything. He took his time, never rushing, to make sure every aspect of the appliances were perfect. On the day of delivery it was obvious Dr Katkow is an expert in his field. The implants fit perfectly. His precise measurements have ensured a perfect fit and a very happy patient! Along with an outstanding experience I had with Dr. Katkow, his office staff should also be mentioned. They are friendly, welcoming, professional and helpful in making sure you get the appointments that fit your schedule.
