It's always a delight visiting San Churro, who says no to covering their face in delicious Spanish…read moremilk, dark and white chocolate?! * Large range of desserts, sweets & hot/cold drinks * Reasonable prices * Fairly large portion sizes (I always leave with a happy full tummy of chocolate) * Friendly service but always depending on the day and time of the week. Friday, Thursday & Saturday night are the busiest from experience and employees feedback as employees always seem on their feet, stressed out and getting mixed up with who's orders what tables. Bless them! My recent favourite purchase from San Churro would be churro's dusted with icing sugar instead of cinnamon with white chocolate dipping sauce, yum! Always a perfect place to catch up and gossip with the girlfriends!

This first time was probably the best experience that I've had here, since then they have obviously reduced the staff load but this is fine as usually there isn't much of a wait. Provided you receive service from one of the few waitresses who are actually good at their jobs or the manager of this store that is. On one occasion we were seated for 20+ minutes without being served despite having been not so pleasantly informed we had to seat ourselves on arrival, only when we were standing to go elsewhere were we asked if our order had been taken by the same girl. The next visit saw me wait 10 minutes for an ice cream cone that I ordered then was forgotten about. Their drinks involving chocolate are typically good but their coffee isn't anything special. Overall the place is unremarkable. (I also don't approve of the staff all wearing leggings as pants, nobody eating their meal wants to see that)

I often crave Churros as a sweet treat after dinner, or with coffee. I've had Churros at the other…read morefranchise stores, such as Norwood SA, and Gouger Street. The one in Hyde Park offers the same delicious delights but unlike the other stores, the service was chaos - seemed to be other customers wonder about there orders too. A good number of staff seemed to be on duty - but the place seemed to be very disorganised (but friendly). I'll head to the Norwood store next time. As I noted the staff were friendly but nobody seemed to be in charge, or the franchise owner dropped the staff in the 'poop' with no systems - which I've seen before.

APPALLING customer service!!! TOXIC COFFEE!…read more Shocking how a coffee house doesn't know what kind of decaf they serve ... SAFE? OR TOXIC? I rang St Louis at Hyde Park ... to ask if their decaf coffee was chemically decaffeinated (which is toxic) ... or whether it was decaffeinated using the safer swiss water process. The woman (with a south american accent) ... who was VERY unfriendly/impatient, said she didn't know. She made NO attempt to put me on hold to ask someone who MIGHT know ... so as to prompt me to actually COME to there cafe ... she just told me (while appearing to mock me by laughing) that she didn't know. MOST coffee houses, (who could care less about the quality of their coffee ... or the health of their patrons) ... serve CHEMICALLY decaffeinated coffee ... because the average Joe has no idea about the dangers. This is where they use a chemical SOLVENT - usually methylene chloride or ethyl acetate (see below for info on dangers). The dangerous chemical residue remaining by using this toxic method, is more harmful than caffeine! Might also account for that migraine you get after drinking coffee ... --------------------------------------------- Methylene chloride ... (CH2Cl2) is a colorless liquid that can harm the eyes, skin, liver, and heart. Exposure can cause drowsiness, dizziness, numbness and tingling limbs, and nausea. It may cause cancer. Severe exposure can cause loss of consciousness and death. Ethyl acetate ... is highly flammable, as well as toxic when ingestion or inhaled, and this chemical can be seriously damaging to internal organs in the case of repeated or prolonged exposure. Ethyl acetate can also cause irritation when it comes into contact with the eyes or skin.

Actually, I was on the bus at the time, and normally wouldn't have gone down this route, so I guess it was fortuitous that I couldn't have the car that day. As such, I later dragged my friends down here for a pot of tea, and I must say that it was certainly a great spot to do so. Not only was the tea quite nice, but I found the service to be very good as well. Certainly worth spending some time here chatting.

The decor is clean, light and modern - a wooden bar with fresh newspapers, mini jars holding sugar and a range of cakes and light meals to satisfy a morning tea, lunch or arvo craving. My latte was not the best I've had in Adelaide, but still worth a mention. The banana bread I had however - delicious. Thick cut, homemade, toasted - what more could you ask for? How about wonderfully moist (shudder at that word) and yet light at the same time? You got it. Can I have the recipe please!? Overall the service was nice, just one guy was manning the cafe but that's all it needs on a quiet Wednesday afternoon. I hope to see them expand into breakfasts maybe! P.S. You can also buy your 2L bottle of non-homogenised Tweedvale milk here to take home for $4.50! Yay!
