Menchie's have started their Australian domination, giving ice cream and gelato shops a rival. This is their second Australian and South Australian store (yep, we got there first).
It's self serve frozen yoghurt, once your cup is full you can add in all your favourite toppings from maltesers, to almonds, to fresh fruit, and cookie dough.
The new Marion store only opened last week, and obviously the school holidays are a great time to set up a frozen yoghurt stall. It was hugely popular, but the small store size just doesn't cater particularly well to large groups.
If there's one thing to make a 20-something-year-old feel like a granny it's teenagers. They're enough to make you want to write letters, sign petitions, and sigh in constant disapproval. There were plenty hanging around, and half of them didn't seem to be buying anything, just grabbing the free samples. My inner granny grumbled but on the outside I just smiled.
It was definitely a longer process than I've ever experienced at the Rundle Mall store, but the staff seemed to handle the rush well.
It would be great if there was somewhere nearby to sit with your yoghurt, especially if you've got kids in tow, as Menchie's can get pretty messy with a 4-year-old. The store is nearby the cinemas, and so it's not exactly near the food court. read more
