I honestly wish I could give this venue a 10 star review to negate the the nasty reviewers who…read moreobviously have some sort of motive. I must say, when my niece announced she would be getting married here after her engagement last year, I was nervous for her after reading the reviews. The was one of the best venues I have been to. I would consider for my own daughter's wedding. I think the only issue my niece had was the crunch time for her rehearsal but all venues are having that issue with some many weddings rescheduled due to the COVID pandemic and wedding cancellations/rescheduling from last year. My niece had a Dr. Who themed wedding since she is a huge fan. We had a lovely outdoor ceremony along the banks of the C&D canal. Everywhere you looks, it is postcard perfect and the photos prove it. There are so many nooks with comfy seating hang out and catch up with people, games like corn hole and pool table on bottom. Lovely cocktail hour on the patio and bottom floor. The bartender was GREAT! I'm not sure who her caterer was but the food was good. Honestly, the star is the venue (and the bride, of course). There were no issues or snags. Just a beautiful day for a simple, fun family celebration. I just can't recommend this place enough!

But she would send someone down so we could pick and pay for the apples. I reiterated my son needed to use the bathroom badly, and she said we can't do that. Mind you this is a wedding venue and they advertise the apple picking is a great activity for childcare centers and schools. How is there not at minimum a porta potty or a back building bathroom that can be used? Since you're inviting whole classes to come on your website. My poor kid needed to poo in a bag outside in the rain as we were not close to anything else. Horrible experience! Will not go back.

The rooms & bathrooms are clean, nice, comfortable & quiet, and buffet breakfast is good - pretty standard. The people at the front desk are by far the best of any hotel where I have stayed in the past few years. Professional, friendly, & helpful in accommodating all requests I've had - big & small.

At approximately 12:54 am on September 13,2026 I found a roach in my hotel room. I took a picture…read moreand immediately reported this to the front desk. I received no assistance from the hotel staff, was told there were no other rooms available and that I needed to speak with the General Manager the next day concerning the matter. I told the woman Vickie that I would be checking out since an immediate resolution was unavailable to me. I also asked for a refund for my room to be processed. She told me I needed to speak with Expedia about a refund and insisted that I speak with the General Manager the next day, and told me she'd be in at 9am. I visited the the property the next day around 10am. The person at the front desk identified herself as the "Floor Manager", gave me Kathy Hoffman's business card, and also told me there was nothing she could do and that the General Manager wouldn't be in until Wednesday but that I should email her and also send a copy of the picture I had taken! This infuriated me having to wait until Wednesday to have this issue resolved. I emailed the General Manager on Sunday, September 12, 2026 with my formal complaint of having found a cockroach in my hotel room along with the picture. Monday morning at approximately 9:53 am I received an email from the General Manger claiming she was investigating the issue BUT, the "flooring" in the picture I had taken was not the color or the pattern of any of the flooring in their hotel rooms. I kindly replied that the picture was NOT of any flooring but of the DESK I found the cockroach on. The General Manager then responded by insisting that the furniture and again "flooring" in the picture was not like any in their hotel rooms! I then emailed her screenshots of the metadata from the picture I took which had the time the picture was taken, along with the GPS location of where the picture was taken. I don't appreciate spending $276 for a hotel just to find a roach, bring it to the hotel's attention and THEN basically be accused of falsely claiming so! Kathy Hoffman (General Manager) never offered an apology for me finding a roach in the hotel room or even an apology for the inconvenience I had been caused. There was no accountability whatsoever, from any of the hotel staff! This was the worse customer service I have EVER received from not only the hotel staff but, the General Manager as well! We had…read morebeen traveling cross country from Las Vegas and he wanted to show me his childhood hometown of nearby Middletown. This is not a hotel were travelers just book a room in a large chain-hotel, this is an off the beaten path and an actual HOME on a small street with no sidewalks. I was struck on how warm and homey this place felt and how welcoming the Innkeepers (Jeff and Linda) were. We were even greeted by the newest Miller-Dunham resident, Avalon "Avi", a 6-month golden retriever who Jeff and Linda just adopted days before. We were shown to our room (The Commander which was clean, tidy and spotless with a beautifully spacious bathroom) and then showed the rest of the house and the beautiful backyard. If stepping out of reality for a weekend and into a quaint, peaceful and relaxing environment - this place is your bet! Evening was an enjoyable time to relax out in the backyard, especially when at dusk the firefly's start their evening lighting dances. The overhead strings of lights added a warmth, just making the place even more charming. Retiring for the night was easy, as the bedroom and bathroom gave hubby and I plenty of room to maneuver. Then settling into that bed, oh my gosh, super comfortable! I completely enjoyed sipping my coffee outside in the early morning sunshine and listening to birds where I could collect my rambling thoughts before breakfast and live in the present, gratified at the quality sleep that I had. Breakfast was called out at 8:30 each morning. Jeff and Linda work very well as a team to prepare and present wonderful breakfasts each morning and Avi was sure to greet each of us with her good morning smiles and tail wags. A couple of the breakfast mornings, there were other guests in attendance and Jeff and Linda didn't miss a beat in tending to each of us with warm conversations and smiles. They even took the time to modify their pre-scheduled breakfast menu for those who had food issues. It was wonderful to come downstairs each morning to the smells of something delicious being prepared in the kitchen for us. One evening, hubby and I walked two blocks to another historical gem, the Cantwell Tavern. We were given a discount coupon at the house so we wanted to check out the menu. It was like stepping back into the Colonial times as you explored this building. This was my first bed and breakfast experience and I hope now that this won't be the last. How can you not fall in love with this secret little place? You feel like this is a little like home, even with the house pet greeting you every time you return back. I highly recommend this B&B experience at the Miller-Dunham house and cheers to Jeff and Linda for making us feel welcomed and even a little sad as we said our goodbyes.
