Much like others, I am leaving a review now and then again after my wedding. Shannon, Maranne, and Amanda have been nothing short of incredibly helpful, kind, professional, and compassionate. I booked my wedding very far out due to being Active Duty stationed overseas and they have been absolutely wonderful. Communication is consistent, payments are fair and always reminded, and the staff really cares. Plus, the vendors they recommend are the same- consistent, talented, kind, and professional. I honestly wish I could give this venue a 10 star review to negate the the nasty reviewers who obviously have some sort of motive. I must say, when my niece announced she would be getting married here after her engagement last year, I was nervous for her after reading the reviews. The was one of the best venues I have been to. I would consider for my own daughter's wedding. I think the only issue my niece had was the crunch time for her rehearsal but all venues are having that issue with some many weddings rescheduled due to the COVID pandemic and wedding cancellations/rescheduling from last year. My niece had a Dr. Who themed wedding since she is a huge fan. We had a lovely outdoor ceremony along the banks of the C&D canal. Everywhere you looks, it is postcard perfect and the photos prove it. There are so many nooks with comfy seating hang out and catch up with people, games like corn hole and pool table on bottom. Lovely cocktail hour on the patio and bottom floor. The bartender was GREAT! I'm not sure who her caterer was but the food was good. Honestly, the star is the venue (and the bride, of course). There were no issues or snags. Just a beautiful day for a simple, fun family celebration. I just can't recommend this place enough! read more

If you choose to hold your event at this venue make sure you take videos of everything you see in working order. If it is not working tell a staff member immediately and document that you were not the one to break it. My husband and I dreamed of getting married here for 5 years. Our wedding day was nothing less than perfect. Our day of coordinator was absolutely wonderful from start to finish and helped us every step of the way. Unfortunately, a month after our wedding we received an insurance claim for a broken item. We went back and forth several times with the insurance company we were required to have per our wedding contract and got no where. Eventually, all communication stopped and we received a large bill to pay for something we did not break. It really saddened my heart that this happened because we really had a great experience. Not only did the venue make the insurance claim more than 30 days and several weddings after ours was held there, but they were unable to provide proof of this item working before we arrived and when it specifically stopped working. There are events held there every weekend and part of the venue is rented out for others to stay in. I am angry, upset and disappointed in how the venue handled this situation. We went above and beyond to make sure the venue was properly taken care of and even stayed late to help our caterers and other event staff clean up. We even left behind decor that other upcoming wedding parties could use rather than just throwing it away. I had a sign go missing and when I asked a staff member, I was told they had no idea where it went. One of our signs was also broken while being moved around and no one ever told me. Not to mention the flowers, wedding props and wedding cake that were thrown away by the staff before we even had a chance to put it in our vehicles to take home. I did not complain nor make a big deal about it because I knew they were just trying to do their job, but now I am truly upset with how everything happened. Everytime I look at our wedding photos and watch over wedding video, a sadness forms in my heart because I think about how this venue got away with making us pay for something we never even touched. Our lawyers tried their best to fight it, but unfortunately you cant take away money that has already been given to pay for that item. All I have to say after all of this is, do better Thousand Acre Farm because your clients are paying $15,000 at the minimum to have the best day of their lives. You have ruined mine and I hope you don't get to do this to anyone else. read more

Thousand Acre Farm was exactly what I wanted. Rustic and gorgeous! I loved having my wedding here, it was such a whirlwind day but everything was absolutely gorgeous. We recently took pictures with our entire family of 27 at Thousand Acre Farms and it was a fabulous experience! We needed to find a beautiful venue where we could take pictures inside or out and Thousand Acre Farms was the perfect spot. Amanda was our point of contact and was so wonderfully kind and accommodating. She made the booking process so easy for us! The day of the photo shoot we were greeted by one of the amazing staff members who gave us the rundown of the space and we were able to use the back grassy area by the water as a backdrop for our first group photo for all 27 of us. We took individual family shots inside the adorable family shots inside the apple Orchard in the front, then a handful of other smaller shots inside the gorgeous barn. Since it was hot out, the barn also was a great place for the families to have snacks and have access to air conditioning while the other families were doing individual photos outside. We had a great experience here and would absolutely recommend this venue! read more

My daughter canceled her wedding and they will not refund any money for the rental of the barn. Yes the contract states no refunds, but do you really need to keep all of five thousand dollars with a 5 month notice of the cancellation? That seems really really greedy. I am sure you probably have that day booked already and making double money for half the work. Not a good way to have great reviews. I am currently in the process to have my wedding ceremony and reception here in October 2020. I wanted to write a review because I feel like the current reviews does not represent the owners and their organization. I will write another review after my wedding. This is the first place we looked at and it is absolutely beautiful. I didn't want a 4 hour wedding which is what most places offer. The amount of time we are getting here will make our wedding a family get together and not feel rushed. We meet Sue during the walk through and she was very straight forward and professional. The venue offers a variety of settings to exchange vows and a variety of locations your guest can mingle. The catering list isn't very big but Sue and her husband are willing to work with other venders as long as they meet their requirements which, I believe is fair. It's been easy to communicate with them. Sometimes the voice mail gets full but we shoot them an email and they respond in a reasonable amount of time. Payments have been easy to send through their site. Sue explained their whole process and what is offer and required, there are no hidden fees. My wife and I (we are already married)- saw some reviews that concerned us. We called The Owners and they explained those reviews. We are realistic and we understand not everyone is going to have the best experience; the ones that don't are more than likely going to write a review. The owners assured us that we have nothing to worry about and our day is going to be as perfect as possible. I appreciated their honesty; my wife and I decided to stick with this venue!! I feel it's the right choice and I'm looking forward to it. If you are worried about these reviews I would go see the place and speak with the owners. I guarantee you'll feel more comfortable. PLEASE READ ENTIRELY BEFORE BOOKING ANYTHING: When we first saw the site, it was a beautiful venue. We though this was the perfect place to hold our event. However, throughout the process, Mike and Sue were inconsistent with timing, as well as courtesy. They kept raising prices every other week even though we didn't add anything to our details. Almost a quarter of the details we paid for were not present at our event and when we mentioned it, they said "We couldn't set it up" and refused to take the price off of our bill even though they didn't even have the supplies to accommodate the details. It rained the entire time and they weren't willing to make the switch to an entirely inside event. Luckily, the THIRD coordinator that we worked with (in 6 months time) managed to make it seem decent to our guests. How she managed to deal with the two terrible owners AND make our event okay is beyond my knowledge. Mike was incredibly intimidating and FORCED me to speak with him alone when I had an issue with something when we had already started the conversation in front of other people. He was very rude and then aggressively told his wife to deal with us. She was more polite but was just as ignorant and unaccomidating as he was. I would suggest the venue if there were different owners, but it doesn't seem like there will be considering all of the reviews that exploit the terrors these people can create and how long they've been treating customers this way. I can almost guarantee the reviews good reviews (on other sites) were written by the owners or staff that they forced to write after they hosted an event. STAY AWAY. read more

BEWARE this business is owned by a separated couple who seem to constantly go head to head and the costumers get caught in the middle. We had my daughters baby shower there yesterday first it was 1,600.00 for 6 hrs so we paid it happily months in advance,then we ask to be able to set up the night before and was told it's another 175.00 no problem paid it gladly but then was told Mike the ex husband would be having a meeting there during our event , we didn't agree to that. So at 10pm the night before my daughters baby shower Mike called my daughter slurring his words and and arguing with my 8-1/2 month High Risk pregnancy daughter who was being treated for high blood pressure he was told he was upsetting her but didn't seem to care he then got frustrated with her and ask could he Deal with her husband as she was An Unreasonable Woman her husband also said No it wasn't ok for Mike to have his meeting during our event we ask did he plan to refund part of payment if he was to share the building during our event and was told no they do it all the time they double book events and charge both parties full price The ex wife called us the morning of and said don't worry mike will move his meeting so you can enjoy your party we was thrilled but apparently this really upset Mike So day of her event Mike showed and was extremely rude to my 75 year old father and was complaining about all the cars in the lot ( our guests) ranting that they all better be gone by 3pm my son in law ask how much more would it cost for 1 extra hour at the building so my guest wouldn't feel uncomfortable and we would have plenty of time to clean up afterwards and Mike said $400.00 so my son in law gladly paid that also. 22 minutes into our extra 1 hr Mike came into our party turned the PA system on as loud as it would go and started slamming chairs around and arguing with us in front of our guests So please be aware that at any point of your event Mike can show up and disrupt your event and cause a scene and disrespect you. I would never recommend this place to anyone read more

This was the first and only venue we looked at. We knew right away we wanted to get married here. My day of coordinator Lisa was so amazing and on point and I can honestly say bc of her my wedding was everything I wanted and more. People always told me "something will happen that you didn't plan for but it'll be fine, don't stress" well let me tell you, my wedding happened exactly how I planned and pictured it. Right on the water and the barn is gorgeous. The owners Sue and Mike are awesome too. I had the best night of my life last night so just want to say thank you to Lisa Sue and Mike. If I could give a zero I would. Thousand Acre Farm kept $7,400.00, of our money and we got nothing in return. The wedding was postponed due to Covid, we were only offered a new date into the next year and they arbitrarily added an additional 15% fee "for the new pricing". We contacted an attorney and was told 6 other couples were using his firm to sue for the same reason. I continued to leave messages for Susan because the phone was never answered. I asked if she would at least return the last check I sent. I had just sent that check only 10 days prior to Covid shutting everything down. Most people struggled in one way or another because of Covid yet they had no heart and continued to take advantage of the situation hurting young people who were just starting out. I'm certain they received a large PPP loan on top of keeping everyone's money. They have absolutely no ethics. My son was unable to purchase a home because of the lost $7,400.00. The only thing we could do is move forward and warn others who would consider using such a greedy, unscrupulous and entitled family. read more

I called the women and she didn't have enough room on her voicemail, so i called i guess her husband or the man When i called i told him that we wanted to have a tour of the property on a specific day. He said "do me a favor if your online can you look to see if theres a wedding that day? So i did what he asked. (First red flag, as the owner i don't expect you to have it on the top of your head, but at least have it on ur own phone). There was no wedding this day so he asked for the time, i said 12:00pm he said no problem just shoot me a text with your name time and date so i don't forget (second red flag). So here comes the day of our tour and we get there at 12:00 pm and i don't see anyone there. I call him and tell him that we got there and he tells me okay, i'm running late give me about 8 minutes(3rd red flag) i'm very punctual and first impressions are everything to us. 12:15 rolled by and he still wasn't there. I ended up just texting him and telling him we will go with a different venue. I'll be trying Chickberry Farms they seem way more professional. read more

The event planners did not communicate with each other and when we all showed up, (my maid of honor, me (the bride), my fiancé, my mother and my soon to be mother in law) the man there had no idea that we were supposed to be there and they had a wedding going on. I don't recommend them because they don't communicate with each other and he wanted to walk us through the venue even thought there was a wedding going on. How rude is that? All of the money those people put into that wedding and he wanted to walk strangers through the building!!! He told us to "be discreet" as I was wearing cut off shorts and a tank top. We had our daughters wedding here on May 9, 2019. We could not have asked for a better experience. It was truly a magical day! The venue and surrounding grounds are just beautiful. The day went on without so much as a single glitch. Lisa, our wedding planner at the farm is amazing. She was so easy to work with and answered everyone of my 5 million questions. when you rent a venue out until 11pm and the manager starts cursing at the bridal party to turn the music off and get your people the f*** out of here for no reason (it was 9pm) they had the staff start mopping the dance floor at 9 while guest were dancing. We were part of a wedding there and had a horrible experience with the owners. They are constantly posting on face book how great of a venue they are, but I promise you it is not at all what they advertise. The place is ridiculously priced for what you get. You are given a 1 hour rehearsal on a Thursday (regardless of what day your wedding is on). During the one hour rehearsal, the owner blasted inappropriate rap music. There were children present and the music included offensive language and racial slurs. It seemed like he was mocking us and we asked him to turn it down 3x so we could hear the coordinator. When we first went to visit the venue with the bride and groom, there were cats climbing on the tables in the dining area and kitchen area. They were assured the cats would not be inside the building during the event as a few members of the party were highly allergic. During the rehearsal, sure enough, the cats were still there. When they asked if the cats would be out by the time of the event, the owners claimed the cats were always in the building to keep the field mice away. Obviously at this point, it was too late to back out of the venue, but they eventually got the owners to agree to cage the cats during the wedding event. We showed up the morning of the wedding and the cats were still there, the air condition had not been turned on (it was about 87 degrees outside) and there was no running water in the building. The owner did not show up until an hour later to correct these issues. When he arrived, he had the nerve to ask the bride if a woman could come up to see the bridal suite while we were getting ready because she was touring the facility. They also had people touring the facility during the ceremony and reception. Do not waste your time on this venue. There are plenty of better options out there. read more

We all liked the location and venue. When we went back a second time to set our date we got a different feeling from the owner. He kept changing the final price to make it higher and higher. This seemed odd but we accepted all of his rules and prices because we liked the venue. He told us he would email us the final price the next day and we can book it then. He never emailed us. After two weeks we gave him a call and his reply was ''I did not take you two serious because you two are young and you guys did not look like you could afford it.'' I am appalled a business owner can say this to someone who is trying to do business with him. It is a shame I could not have my wedding there because of my age. I have never heard of anything like this. When I told him I was going to write this review, he told me that he would tell customers that I could not pay. So unprofessional. He did not even ask for any type of payment. Our agreement was to pay in full two months before the wedding. This does not even make sense because if we did not pay how would we enter his venue? I never thought I would see someone descriminate against my age. He did not even give us a chance to pay, he just assumed we could not afford it. Please do not support this ''business owner'' and allow him to discriminate customers because of the way they look.
