Excellent Service from initial visit to removal of trees. A storm caused several trees in our backyard to fall. Tim Ballard visited the tree damage gave us an estimate, worked with our insurance company. Nelson and the crew came first thing this morning and completed the job in a professional and timely manner. The crew meticulously cleaned up, placed a cover across the lawn so the tractor wouldn't damage it. Ballard Enterprises was totally unprofessional and couldn't care less about providing service as requested. I called Ballard Enterprises in need of a grass specialist. They informed me that the owner, Mr. Ballard was their turf specialist and that I could make an appointment for him to come out. I made the appointment for the following week. Someone showed up who was not Mr. Ballard nor was he a grass specialist. I asked him why they sent someone who was not qualified and who I made an appointment with and his answer was "I have no idea, they just put you on my schedule." I called the office and asked why they sent someone other than Mr. Ballard. They proceeded to tell me that Mr. Ballard had an emergency and couldn't make it so they sent someone else. They made no effort to notify me or to discuss rescheduling for another time. They sent someone who was not qualified for the job. They had no regard for my time or any interest in providing the service that I requested. So disappointing. I would not recommend them at all. read more

This is my first negative review in 10 years. my intent was to spend money locally with a small business to help them during COVID for a cord of wood to be delivered. Their website provides an estimated date/time for delivery. The date/time passed without any contact from them. After getting off of hold with them for 5 minutes I spoke with a lady whom obviously had been fielding this type of call a lot. She told me that there is a disclaimer saying that this time estimate may not be accurate (blaming it on "SQUARE" configuration on the site). I was ok with that, understanding small businesses have a harder time navigating technologies. But when they don't come that day and don't call to say they won't make it that is frustrating. Furthermore she was unable to commit to even a specific day when they will come in the future, it is very disappointing. I'm not mad just very disappointed that when I try to help a local business out they don't value their customers enough to make a simple call saying they aren't going to make their estimate. Thought customer service as the niche that small businesses could shine. Not the case with Ballard I'm sad to say. read more

Do not order firewood from this company if you are planning to burn it in your indoor fireplace. It was infested with bugs and had fungus all over it. My husband tried calling and received terrible customer service. They refused to take ownership. We are fearful of burning this in our house, so we've now way overpaid for campfire wood. read more

Very disappointed in there customer service and attitude. Had an Arborist come.out to provide estimate. Provided pricing to my wife and i verbally. Then when we done gave it to us in writing. When we went back later to ask questions, noticed different prices then what he gave us. When we called to ask about it, the Arborist was very snippy with us questioning him and said he never gave us the lower prices. We called back to speak to the owner on 2 occasions but never got a call back. It's a shame that's their attitude. read more

the most awful experience. Estimator was personable but over-inflated the price of the work and amount of materials needed. Not to mention they could not start the work for nearly 30 days! I requested a quick turnaround but they sent a job proposal stating sometime within 30days! GTFOH! Plus the estimate was so persnickety that they over itemized the bill by charging separately for tree stump removal who has tall trees removed and leaves the damn stump in the ground. I changed my mind after finding someone else already doing work in my neighborhood and who responded same day and completed the work within 5 days of giving an on the spot estimate not some email from the back office that took damn near a week to get! Worst experience there are other and better companies. OH and beware to not sign the proposal because they will pressure to pay a cancellation fee and a percentage of work they did NOT complete! read more

We had Ballard come out to give an estimate for tree work. Unfortunately we signed the estimate to move ahead with the work and were informed that they would contact us within 2 weeks to schedule. They did not contact us after 1 1/2 weeks, and we had to cancel the work, due to unforseen circumstances. We were then sent an invoice for $250 plus 5%, as this is their policy. In addition, late fees are assessed starting at 2 weeks, then additional late fees are accrued each additional week thereafter. The cancellation policy is written in small letters on the back of the contract, however, most businesses notify you at time of signing of a cancellation policy that stringent and they did not. We would definitely NOT recommend Ballard for any tree work due to this policy. read more

I called on 9/9 to place an order over the telephone for 3 yards of dirt and was instructed to place the order online from the company's website. I ordered 3 yards of dirt on 9/9 via the company's website. Order confirmation for delivery was provided immediately upon payment and delivery was scheduled between 9/10 and 9/12 on the website receipt. Delivery was not made as scheduled between 9/10 and 9/12 without any notification. I called on 9/12 to check the status of the delivery and the response I was provided was that "we don't know". On 9/12 I received only an email response stating delivery was now scheduled for 9/18. On the morning of 9/18 I called to verify delivery time and was guaranteed delivery that day. At 4pm on 9/18 I called as delivery was not made. I was told that the driver who was supposed to deliver did not come in to work that day and that somebody was supposed to and should have call me and let me know but did not. I stated the company owner needed to contact me to address the issue with no call from any management or any other representative. The delivery was rescheduled then for 9/21. No delivery was made on 9/21. I called late afternoon on 9/21 to find out why and it was stated that the scheduler did not come to work and did not schedule the delivery and the delivery would be rescheduled for 9/22. After expressing my concern over their ability to deliver on 9/22 I again asked for the owner to call me. Nobody from management called me from this request either. I called back on 9/22 to request a refund and it was stated they could not process a refund from the website system and the only way to get a refund was by check in the mail in 1-2 weeks. I recanted the refund request, stated the owner needs to call me and make this right. I asked for a delivery time window on 9/22. I was told between 7:30am and 8:30am the order would be delivered. On 9/22 the dirt was delivered on 8:47am. I received a call from the customer service representative to verify that I had received the dirt. I acknowledged delivery and restated my extreme disappointment in the service level. At this point was the first time I was provided with an apology and offered to give a minimal discount on my next transaction. I declined and stated I will never be doing service with the company ever again. Throughout the whole transaction I received no call from any level of management, no apology from management, and nothing discounted for the lack of delivery service or customer service. It took 14 days to deliver 3 yards of dirt a distance of 13 miles. read more

I was scheduled for an estimate between 9-11am on Saturday. I stayed home waiting for the person and they never showed. I called to ask why and I was put on hold for ever....I hung up and called another company. I don't understand how a company can stay in business if they no-show their appointments. read more

I would not recommend this company. There was one tree I taught it was going to be cut as part of a 22 tree cutting and many more stump grinding. Since the field crew did not want to make a decision I and the field crew called Paul (sales man who made the deal with me). No answer. After a day I wrote an email. I got a reply. I wish I was told its a misunderstanding and the tree was not part of the deal. That would have been it, but the first sentence on the phone was I was looking for free stuff.....followed by I would do it for you at $$$$. I expected Ballard to at least listen to me (the client) first and if they disagree, that is fine. But accusing client before they even listed is what happened. So much for their slogan "we are not satisfied unless you are satisfied" . Don't let this slogan mislead you. Also after cutting the tree, the stump grinding took another four days and one stump was forgotten. I admit once owner was informed the last stump was not done he got it taken care off. I would have taken care off the last stump myself if they had treated me well. Bottom line is I would not recommend this company at all. I'm not looking for any free stuff and I even let them keep the $5 dollar credit I could take by filling this rating. At this point, I will pay some one else to cut that one tree than Ballard cutting it for free. . read more

Ballard Enterprises LLC did a FANTASTIC job with our residential tree removal. They returned my phone calls promptly; I was able to speak personally with the owner to arrange some special accommodations and got a same day estimate. The workmen showed up early and took half the predicted time (which was already really short). They removed two trees in about twenty minutes and left virtually NO trace of their presence (besides not having any trees!). There was no damage, no cleanup left for us, and no hassle. The workmen were polite, cheerful, flexible, and efficient. I cannot remember a better experience with a contracting company in recent years. read more

We solicited 5 separate quotes on major tree work (one of the trees is over 100' high and situated between two homes on a steep incline). Ballards was as professional as it can get, from the arborist who initally came out and gave the quote to the owner, foreman and workers on site.
