I noticed Lili's #2 while driving down Spring Valley a while back and finally made it in to enjoy my first experience with Honduran food. The decor is busy and bursting with Honduran pride. Seating is simple. Tables with chairs and a line of booths along with east wall. There was ample seating during lunch on a Thursday. I ordered the baleada con carne and it was great. I think next time I'll order plantain ($1) or avocado($.75) with whatever I get to kick it up a notch. I also had the enchiladas Hondureños that were fantastic. It's more like a tostada than an enchilada to me, and it came with seasoned ground beef, cabbage, sauce, tomato, boiled egg and crumbled cheese. Was the only non-Hispanic in there and that's really a shame. Our immigrant neighbors have brought their delicious food to us and a pursuing the American dream of owning a business. I didn't think this was was gonna be as big or as popular considering the reviews and the location. But on an off hour Saturday afternoon, it was pretty busy. And judging from all the Honduran-pride knick knacks they sell here, it seems to be "un encuentro catracho," or a Honduran meeting place, for North Dallas. This is the second time I tried baleadas con carne asada in Dallas, and the meat was better flavored than the other place by the airport, but also a bit more gristle - so I'm not sure how to compare it exactly. But I had also forgotten to add eggs but I wasn't having it for breakfast anyways. Overall, the baleada was a bit skimpy even though the fresh flour tortilla was large in size. Would I come back? I don't know - I found the service a bit cold and I'm talking about two ladies, not just one, that manage the front end of the business - and I almost never complain about indifferent service anywhere. And I felt that the very affordable menu was also a bit smaller and limited compared to the other Catracho place near Love Field - although it expands in the weekends with their specialty soups (mondongo, caracol, etc). I also feel that the other place make their food with more love. If you want better Honduran food, and friendlier service, go to the other place. If you want a cleaner establishment and can forget about the rest of the things, then this one is definitely cleaner and more organized of the two, while also being more visibly appealing overall. The pollo con tajadas, y el bisket en cebollado are really good. The baleadas don't like because the use beans from a bag that they sell there and one tome there was an egg shell in mine so don't order them again. My mother loves their baleadas. Overall great Laplace and have been there tons of times. My only recommendation is that they stay selling pupusas but one of the kitchen employee told me their grill is too small. For those reading my review who are not familiar with what a Baleada is, it is a traditional Honduran dish consisting of a flour tortilla folded in half and filled with mashed fried beans. That is the base for a baleada, then they are often also filled with cheese, eggs, sausage, chicken, and/or pork etc. I was not a fan of the food, found it to be very average at best. Seriously, nothing popped out at me as being out of the ordinary or beyond just ok. What I had a hard time with was the service or lack thereof. I've been dying for a taste of home and my sweet husband found this one close to our apartment. The service was slow and a bit confusing but we seated ourselves, the waiter came by pretty promptly to take our orders. We both got orders of baleadas and maracuya to drink. If you're looking for a taste of Honduras, this place has got great food, good options on the menu, and a very relaxed atmosphere. The fresh crema and cheese were amazing and reminded me of home. If you're in a hurry, don't bother. It appears several of these reviews have no clue how catracho service works and how much time it takes to get the food that seems to be made when you order. The waiter spoke both English and Spanish and was very polite and friendly to us. All in all, we plan to go back with some of my family members to enjoy the maracuya juice and food again! read more

This restaurant is almost hidden in a street mall. It neighbors Andre Store and Noodle Waves. I am glad I went- really good Hondurian food, large portions. They have a cabbage/ onion kind of salad that is very good- perfect to balance with beans, rice and meat (milanesa, in my case). Everything tastes homemade, very well prepared. And they have some juices, one of them is cashew fruit. I can't recall the name they call it but it is interesting for those who think there is nothing other than the nut in a cashew fruit! I don't understand why if they are not that busy, they take forever. I called at 8:01am to place an order. I got there at 8:42am. There was ONE table. And they still hadn't even started on my food. WHAT? How much time do you need? It's not even a complicated order - 4 baleadas sencillas. They seriously need to get better. I'm coming from Mesquite and work in Plano. Stopped by randomly because I have never had Honduran food before. The woman who was my serve, who I also think was the owner, was so nice! The food was good. I can't remember the name of what I ordered, but it was a fried pupusa like meat pocket. It came with a cabbage slaw salad. Both were pretty good. The absolute best part was the homemade tortillas I ordered to go. They were buttery, soft deliciousness. It was dinner. I was hungry and I saw this place driving by so I ambled on in. The inside can best be described as chaotic. The floor was patchwork quilt of various styles of tile. There were random columns popping out of the floor. On the right there is a column of booth seats with a decorative thatched roof. In the front there's a counter, where they sell strange cough medicines. Three televisions blaring futbol were on. The food took forever to come because I'm pretty sure they forgot my order. I tried the yuca and chicarones, or something to that extent. Yuca turned out to be a sort of fibrous potato thing. Chicarones was fried pork belly. It came on a bed of chopped cabbage and some intensely fuschia tinted pickles of some sort, along with white onions and two pickled jalapenos. On the whole it was different and kind of good. The water comes in a plastic bottle, (Niagra, which is Aldi's store brand). The forks are plastic. The plate however, is ceramic. Having been here twice, I would not recommend it if you are not Hispanic looking. They will forget your order, or give you a mess of overcooked crud. read more

Have been there a few times, the place is ok, nothing out of the ordinary. Their baleadas are bomb though. The reason I am giving it 3 starts and not 4 is because of their customer service...every time I go there the lady is always rude or they serve you like trying to get rid of you, always in a hurry and for some reason every time I've been we've always had problems at checkout because of mistakes with our bill! read more

I am an Honduran native,food is good but service is awlfule , stay away from this place, if youdont like it, justsuck it up,..my son always order the Horchata drink, it was very good, last time we went, he order same but tasted very difffrent, we ask the owner if she could exchange it for another drink but she suprisely said "no we dont change anything" sorry if you dont like it its your problem....wow....again, stay away from this place, they dont have any concept of what service is about, they treat you same way they treat people in third world country unfortunally read more

Great spot! I'll find myself craving a good baleada, like the ones made here. The tortilla itself is fresh, beans, delicious cheese (reminds me Salvadoran cheese), and perfectly grilled carne asada. Been coming here for many years! I always order pollo frito con tajadas-- delicious! I also recommend buying a bag of Zambos at the counter for the road! I've personally never had an issue with customer service but I will say that in general, most ethnic hold on the wall spots place less emphasis on customer service-- which isn't really a big deal to me. As long as my food comes out in a timely manner & is hot, I'm happy! read more

Food is ok. I really like the chicken with cabbage. The baleadas they used to put alot of beans and cheese but it has downgraded. Place is pretty clean. Suggestion to this stablishment is to have better customer service. Sometimes they have been not very fruendly even when you call to place an order.
