Hello, My name is Erick Mendez and I had one of the worst experiences in my life when I visited the Baldwin Auto Body shop on January 13, 2021. I not only was harassed but I felt in a hostile environment when asking a question regarding the owner's (Javier) pricing of my uncle's "free estimate" car repair. My uncle had gone in to get a "free estimate" and left with a $700 bill for leaving the car overnight. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CAR OVERNIGHT or they will try and hold your car and claim that they already took it apart. I don't know if the owner was having the worst day of his life (January 13, 2021) but he got in my face (no mask) and asked me to leave. He made it seem as if he was going to fight me and was screaming in my face to leave (keep in mind I am 25 and he is probably 60). I was confused and asked him why he was being so disrespectful if I was simply asking him regarding the pricing of a "free estimate" that resulted in a $700 bill for my uncle. I left his shop because I am a teacher and I do not want to get in any type of fight and ruin my image or my career. The owner proceeded to forgive me after my uncle's car was approved for repairs at his shop. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY A FREE ESTIMATE unless you want to go in and get harassed and confronted face to face over fees. read more

I absolutely hate dealing with insurance companies when it comes to car damage. I'm so glad my Father took me to Javier and his team. My Camry was backed up into and damaged the front of my car mainly the hood. I was confused as to where to take my car since the insurance was only willing to pay very little (almost nothing). Based on unfortunate circumstances with my vehicles (not by fault), in the last 15 yrs I've had taken my cars to Javier at his shop at BP Auto body multiple times for body shop work. All I have to say Javier and his team do an awesome job, they are very professionally, easy to work and to communicate. I'm impressed with their work as their highly experienced, as very time I take my car there the results are flawless, I feel like I drive out of their lot with a new car when their done. Their work is so phenomenal, I could never tell my car was badly damaged at all, not one bit. Javier uses the same high quality of paint used as the original paint of the vehicle and works all the details on the car regardless of how severely damage is. I'm very detailed oriented, and I can never see a single small scratch anywhere on my car during my inspection, when is time to pick it up from his shop. The outcome results are spot on, have referred family, friends and coworkers throughout the years to this body shop, and we are all happy with the end results and how helpful it is to work with Javier. The service I got at Baldwin Auto Body was great! I had a relatively bad experience getting my van repaired, It was partly due to my insurance, but I can mostly put the blame of my bad experience on my insurance adjuster. My car had caught on fire because of a faulty relay, It wasn't smoking, it just over heated. When I got it home and popped the hood is when I noticed all of the damage, I am talking about major front end damage, it looked as if a small incendiary device went off under my hood. All kinds of major parts, wires and hosed melted. Dealing with my insurance took months and it felt as if they were accusing me of doing it intentionally. I had towed the car to the dealership I use for maintenance and was going to pay out of pocket. It was only after the repairs they had estimated went above 3K that they recommended I go through my insurance. The insurance gave me a list of authorized repair facilities of which of course I looked up on Yelp. Baldwin Auto Body had great reviews apart from a few bad apples and I informed my adjuster that this place would be where I wanted the repairs done. Fast Forward 3 weeks, my adjuster never bothered to call me or inform me that my car was picked up and taken to Baldwin Park Auto, nor had they informed them what the car was there for. It was only I finally got a hold of the guy that helps me at Toyota that he told me it was picked up, by then I had already called and left several messages for my adjuster. It was shortly after that I was contacted by Javier via text and asked if that was my preferred way to communicate (it is). He let me know that my vehicle was there, and that he had just received the claim and information and would be reviewing everything. I don't understand why people claim he is unresponsive and fails to communicate as every time I had a question he would respond within minutes, even after hours. Furthermore He would text me every few days to let me know what the status of parts and the progress made on the repairs was. He had told me my car would not be ready for an extra day but ended up finishing it the day before closing and still kept his shop open and waited for me to get to his location from Los Angeles in traffic. He really went above and beyond with his customer service and courtesy. When I got home I popped the hood and was very pleasantly surprised to see all of the brand new parts installed and cleaned up. read more

Sounds to me they do bodyshop fraud to exaggerate damages to make a profit for the crap insurance company named Infinity insurance. They claim its with all after market oem parts. Bullshit I say. An econoshitbox dosnt cost this much to repair. Maybe the airbags and setbelts but not the whole thing. Take your chance to take your investment somewhere else to protect and fix. read more

Not sure what happened to my review but back in July the son of the owner, Javier hit my car and Javier told me about the fixes he would make. The whole time it was all miscommunication until the end. Lies after lies. He first told us he would need to keep the car for a few days, so my husband called out of work to take the car only so that Javier could tell us that he didn't need it anymore. The day before taking my car Javier told me to go early morning and he would set up for someone to bring me back home. So the next day I got up early in the morning, took my car and suddenly he said he never set anything up. I had to walk almost 14 blocks home with my 3 year old's daughters heavy car seat. Then when he returned our car I thought it looked good until later when my husband got home and inspected it, we saw paint drippings and the bumper didn't seem fixed right. It had bumps. They didn't bother to work on my car they just try to cover up the damages. Javier also told us we would get a new spare tire case cause his son broke part of mine when he crashed into me, he didn't give me a new one he just fixed it. I was nice enough not to call the cops nor the insurance company when his son crashed into me because I thought he would do a good job but I regret not calling them and having the insurance take care of it. I know they did this job for free because Javier was protecting his son so no insurance was involved. But it was their responsibility to fix the damages. If I wanted to I could have done everything the right way and gotten my bumper and tire case case fixed professionally not sloppy. Based on my experience these people are not trustworthy and this coming out from someone who got hit by the owners son and promised us to do a great job. I wouldn't recommend this place. read more

Had my car repaired and took over a month. They really did a good job, but they lack communications. They told me my insurance extended my rental car, but they didn't. They were gonna have me wait for the refund from my insurance for the rental, but I told them they need to handle it themselves and they could wait for the refund since they were the one who told me that they spoke to my insurance and said rental will be extended. I only paid the difference. I wasn't about to loose out when they couldn't even communicate well between me and my insurance company. Then, when a I paid I gave $50 extra by accident and they just let me leave without telling me. I had to go back and tell them they were gonna jack me off $50 without saying anything. They just straight lied to my face and said he didn't count the money right and he was sorry. Who doesn't count their customer's payment before letting them leave?..what a liar! read more

The owners son crashed my wife's vehicle and so this is how I learned about this place. The owner Javier is not a man of his word, too many misunderstandings with this guy. Made me miss work because he needed the car for two days. Got there to find out he wasn't keeping it at all. He told my wife to take the car for fixing and said he would provide her with a ride back home. The day of he made her walk 15 blocks home with a car seat because he didn't schedule anyone. They gave us the car and it looked good but then we started noticing the bumper wasn't even sanded right and it had paint drips. My wife wanted to do things the right way so this guys son wouldn't get into problems with the law and he he couldn't even fix our car right. He did us wrong. read more
