I am a former triathlete and someone who has struggled with almost constant back and neck pain for…read moreyears caused by a combination of scoliosis, poor posture (I work at a computer all day), and a sports injury to my lower neck that eventually required surgery last year. I know pain medication for many is a critical part of their doctor prescribed treatment plan and I don't fault anyone for making the decision to use it. For me though even after my surgery I've always chosen and had success with other mechanisms to manage my pain including stretching, acupuncture, chiropractic, and massage which has always been my go to solution. I've literally had hundreds of massages over the years of almost every variety...except for Ashiatsu. I found Acadian Massage while on a recent visit to Baton Rouge from Austin, Texas and after describing to Mandy the combination of physical conditions I was dealing with she explained and then recommended Ashiatsu (a barefoot massage technique). It was without question the most amazing massage I've ever had!!! Beyond being one of the nicest people you'll ever meet Mandy is an extremely talented therapist that I would highly recommend. I always look forward to visiting Baton Rouge for LSU football and great food, but every single visit I make from now on will also include an appointment with Mandy at Acadian Massage.

The staff were extremely nice and accommodating. We arrived 30 minutes early, filled out paperwork for 10 min and was called back right at our massage time. The lobby smelled like old lotion. Not in a bad way lol, just like a bottle of lotion that is expired and lost its scent. Almost like a clay smell? Anyway, I ended up getting a facial and husband got the massage. My facial was extremely relaxing and my husband said that his massage was great! She even gave him homework to stretch because he was super tense. I paid online, but ending up adding a few things so at the checkout, they said that they would wave the fee for the couples massage to be performed in the same room (which I was confused because we booked the couples massage assuming this would be done as a couple in the same room). Either way, glad it was waved! This place has nice and accommodating staff. Would recommend.

This one had an appt the next day available, so I grabbed it. I decided on the "Rapid Tension Relief", which is a 30 minute session using the massage gun. First time trying the massage gun, and it was an experience for sure! Juloni was my massage therapist, and she was awesome. Communication is always most important in my opinion, and she asked me all the right questions and was attuned to my body's reactions. Prices are good here. My 30 minute session was only $21, which means I'll be back with my gift card! Juloni recommended 2-4 weeks for me, but with my schedule and the holidays, hopefully I'll make it back in a month. I definitely will return and recommend this location for anyone looking for a great massage!
