One of the worst business owners I've ever met. I would just stay away from this business as the owner doesn't care to uphold her own values. There are way better yoga studios to go to. Someone has to stand up and say something about this selfish person who treats people like garbage.

I have come for a few classes here now (FYI: there is currently a groupon available, $50 for 10…read moreclasses). There are 2 studios, a large, airy warm/hot studio and a smaller room temperature studio. I would say this yoga studio really caters to those who like hot yoga, which I didn't realize until I took a better look at their schedule. I'm not really a hot yoga fan and I find the smaller studio a bit cramped (even during weekday day time classes), so it's not ideal for me, but I still have enjoyed warm hatha, flow and restore, and yoga and meditation classes here. The owner, Ruby, is an excellent teacher who gives good corrections and is very alignment-focused. The hot flow classes have a lot of good teachers whose names I recognize from other studios, so it looks like you could get a really good variety here if you do hot yoga. The space is very welcoming and nicely decorated, with a living room type lounge area where there are tea bags and a kettle. The change room has showers and there is a separate washroom. One thing I wish they had were lockers. The big studio has cubbies where you can leave your bag, but the small studio gets crowded with people's bags. That said, I would not feel comfortable leaving my wallet/laptop in the changeroom as there are many classes and wellness therapies, so lots of people coming in/out of the changeroom at any given time. Overall, an inclusive and inviting yoga studio. I will definitely come back for restorative classes and any workshops/events.

Oh yeah, baby, I'm coming out of Yelp retirement to write this review…read more I have attended nearly 100 classes at Yogatree, so I hope I have qualified to write a review of this studio. Today I was left very disappointed by the studio. I bought a 20 class pass a year ago (c.f.: have attended nearly 100 classes!) -- at the time, I didn't know that the class passes EXPIRE AFTER ONE YEAR! Well, I suppose you can guess what happened. I was abroad for six months in the previous year, so I didn't get the chance to finish using all my classes before they expired. When I visited the studio to ask if they could take pity on me and my expired classes, since I was out of the country for most of the previous year, I was told that the policy is that they charge a $100 fee to "reactivate" expired classes. Now is probably a good time to mention that the 20 class pass, which I was not told would expire in a year when I bought it, was over $500. I'll let you judge whether you think these policies are appropriate. Regardless of whether you think they are or not, I should say that, before writing this review, I looked all over the Yogatree website to find any evidence of these two "policies". Maybe it was my fault for not knowing? Well: I could not find a single mention of the $100 reactivation fee ANYWHERE on the website. I do have to credit them for listing the class pass expiry date... AFTER you have purchased the class pass but not anywhere before payment!!! I wish I didn't have to write this review -- I have met some wonderful teachers and enjoyed some great classes at both the Bay/Dundas as well as the Richmond/Spadina locations. But you cannot have "policies" that people aren't aware of until it's too late.

I can see a lot of potential for Yoga Tree Midtown to be one of the best yoga studios in the area. - 3 spacious practice rooms that able to offers different yoga style and heated/non heated classes at the same time - Love the 2 studios with windows letting natural light in and the different colour scheme for each studio! - The grand opening schedule offers a diversity of classes: Yin, Jivamukti, Vinyasa, Core, Power, Restorative... you take your pick! - Tea Lounge with Complimentary herbal tea from Herbal Infusions and lemon infused water - All the little things that you need: showers, shampoo/body wash, hair dryers and plenty of props to deepen your practice! Unfortunately, since Yoga Tree Midtown is located inside an office building.. there are restrictions in what they can do to the facilities. - Washrooms are not located inside the studio. Luckily, they are just located right across from the main entrance.... so make sure you go washrooms before you take off your winter boots!! shh.. ask for the secret code! - 2 showers only.... so there might be a wait if you need to take a shower. Hopefully they are smart enough to schedule the classes accordingly to minimize the wait! The studio has a mild social vibe, which I feel adds to the practice, the experience. For me it helps reinforce my consistency of yoga practice. The indoor space is a chance to see one of few remaining houses in this area with Toronto's 1930's (or so) architecture. The studio room is clean and has a bohemian good vibes. Often there are health and wellness events hosted by guest practitioners, which teachers will tell you about if they know your interests.
