What a wonderful space and how incredible the teachers…read more I have been taking classes now for 2 years here, including hiring for private classes with friends at home or office, and the fact that I am writing a reviews shows how appreciative I am of this space. Each teacher has their specialization and style, but are all very welcoming and helpful. (And each teacher is often bringing new techniques and variety to their classes.) The studio has a mild social vibe, which I feel adds to the practice, the experience. For me it helps reinforce my consistency of yoga practice. The indoor space is a chance to see one of few remaining houses in this area with Toronto's 1930's (or so) architecture. The studio room is clean and has a bohemian good vibes. There is also a meditation/social room, deck and backyard space. Often there are health and wellness events hosted by guest practitioners, which teachers will tell you about if they know your interests. Yoga mats and blocks are available but must be sanitized after use.

If people know of your studio provinces away, than it must be pretty good. This studio is very clean and just the right amount of space to not be overwhelming. When I arrived, the front desk person was very friendly and helpful answering my questions and helping me get set up with a pass. Some studios feel intimidating when you enter them, not this one. I felt welcomed and comfortable. I attended a number of classes with a few different teachers who all seemed to be well trained and had a great rapport with students. I felt a sense of community and was pleased when I would see teachers chatting with students after class and answering questions. Also, the prices for drop-ins and such seem to be on par with other studios around. After some time, I noticed this studio had programs for different ailments, such as the Yoga for Multiple Sclerosis and Cardiac Program. I don't know much about them as I didn't inquire, but I think it's great classes like this are being offered. I have since moved away from Toronto, but visit frequently, so when I'm in town I like to stop by here for a refreshing class in my favourite style of yoga.

At the last opening in October, I had renewed my class hours + I had made a small donation in November 2020. I have been a student of Yoga Centre Toronto for almost twenty-five years and had enjoyed working with the teachers and students. I feel as if they gave up on us, because throughout the difficult year of 2020, we never gave up on them. Whether or not we'll get our money back is up to the legal system. When this Pandemic ends, we will be faced with finding a new studio and teachers!

However, because of its popularity, the classes can get quite busy. So if you do use your Passport, please make sure you arrive at least 15-20 min prior to the class start. I took advantage of their intro special and went a few times. There are two practice rooms (tons of blocks on the wall outside the rooms), men and ladies change room. The lockers are located in the change rooms. Make sure you bring our own lock! There are several shower stalls and I believe two toilets in the ladies room. It was nice to practice again in a heated room. I usually went for the noon classes and had no issues with parking (ample!) and didn't feel like I was being squished into a practice room full of people. Lots of space. I wish they offered more power/vinyasa flow classes. I'd LOVE to do some ashtanga or a class that would push me a bit further. Looking forward to coming back though!
