Second, the owner and staff: From receptionist, hair dressers, owner and the lovely Adina Pignatare, my new hair dresser they are very welcoming and warm. They will make you feel at home and your time will be enjoyable. Truly appreciated that Adina set up my chair next to my son so he felt good customer service and considering that he is very shy he told me after appointment that Adina will always be his hair dresser. Third, let's talk about quality assurance by saying that Adina's work: impeccable, best consultation prior to the work I got done. Her skills are immaculate and she is an expert in the art of hair color and everything relate to the hair. She is honest and straight forward with what goes well with your skin and hair color as well style. Trust her she knows her art. You will not be disappointed. Make sure if you schedule with her do not miss her appointment because she is highly request. I wait 2 months before see her but totally worthy. She taught me so much about how to do my hair the right way AND to look the way I wanted! Now that I've moved, I drive an hour and a half for an appointment and it's worth it. The only criticism I have is that the salon itself is a little small, and the chairs for sitting under the dryer are metal (in the style of a hipster ice cream parlor?) and so uncomfortable! The sinks back up from time to time as well, which might be something to take up with the property owner to get permanently fixed. That said, this is a business I'm happy to support and I think will only improve given the skill of the stylists.

Normally, I don't ever come back to a colorist with issues, so this was a first for me, but I was glad to work with her to fix it. The management was awful from the start. I called to make my appointment and she had me tell her what I was having done. I have no idea, I don't know the different color techniques or what I should have done. Turns out they wanted to know how much time I would need in the chair. I would have no idea. Then I had a serious issue with the color itself. The front is brassy blond with odd root lines showing and the back is almost a white blond. But I was happy to go in for a fix. Management called me prior to my "fix it" appointment and I was grilled demanding to know my entire hair color history over the phone, I'm not a colorist so I had no idea how to explain it or what I was going to need to have done to fix it. The I was accused of being unhappy with what I told the colorist to do. Huh? If a customer is unhappy and kindly requests a fix, why didn't she have me come in and evaluate herself, rather than grill me over the phone? Turns out she was concerned about how much time I would require in a chair, again. Also, she informed me that I'd have to pay for the blow out after it was fixed. I am supposed to walk out with wet hair and assume the color looks good? She explained you weren't happy with the color, not the blow out. So, you have to pay for the blowout. WHAT? The tone used, the excuses, the blame the customer attitude and my hair still isn't the way I'd like it.

Seriously. We had Katie on makeup and Megan on hair. They arrived on time with everything they needed and were friendly, fun and kept everything running smoothly throughout the day. Katie made me the woodland fairy princess of my dreams and Megan definitely understood the assignment when I asked for a bohemian fishtail braid with flowers integrated into the whole thing. She even practiced on a mannequin at home after my trial to get everything just right. Truly can't say enough good things about HHB! I asked do not take more than an inch off as she was cutting. She cut off so much I look like a kindergartner who cut their own hair. I said they were too short . Her response - "don't worry they'll grow back" . But in the meantime I need to deal with super short bangs?? Really?? - Secondly she added toner to my hair after the highlights (was never done previously) which made my hair look darker. Why? I specifically said I liked my previous hair color. Why change it without asking me ??? - THE KILLER - charged me 25% more than my last appointment without any notice. So expecting to pay $140 (w/o tip) for my hair appt was now $185. It's ironic that I continually get reminders of my hair appointment via text & email but no forewarning of the price increase.
