The ER doctor recommended my mother to physical therapy after being hospitalized for almost two weeks. She had pain and swelling in her arms and feet. I went on Yelp to check reviews and Balance and Motion Physical Therapy had the highest best rated reviews. My mother called and made an appointment the same week. We arrived on a Friday late afternoon for her first session. Location is clean and well managed. Leonard is the MPT and he is the sweetest! He was very welcoming and my mother felt very comfortable. He is very personable and knowledgeable. Within my mother's 60 minutes session, she would do the following: stationary bike, assisted pull ups from the chair, weights, and treatment for her areas of pain. After a couple sessions, my mother was able to see results. Her swelling went down and she started to gain her strength back. Leonard has been a God-send for my husband who has developed tendinitis of the shoulder and elbow. My husband has been muscling through the pain for a over year and half now. He tries to massage it himself daily, stretch and practice exercises he had learned from another physical therapy office. I worked with Leonard at a local hospital in the area 20 years ago. I called to set an appointment with him... and I came by one day for shoulder, neck and back stiffness. When you come to his office and business, you just sit in his lobby until he finished with his current client. Once he called you in the rehab therapy area... he does full assessment of what issues or problems you have physically. Leonard worked on the knots and muscle stiffness with his hands and gadgets to loosen up the problem area. I could not even stand when I had my cast off for a few days from having it on for a month from breaking my ankle. Leonard was able to get me in with a same day appointment and in that one appointment, I went from not able to stand to walking without assistance to my car to go home for the evening! Amazing! Leonard takes about an hour with me each session and he takes great care in the treatment of my ankle and getting it back to full functionality. After about 6 sessions I was able to almost walk without any kind of limp or impediment. I'm going to continue my sessions and I know with Leonard's skill that I'll be better than new in no time. I'm brand new to working out and when I started, I went REALLY HARD and because I wasn't being trained properly and because I am not conditioning, I ended up having painful tendinitis in my knees!!! When I came, Leonard was very welcoming, kind, and professional. He helped me learn and practice new stretches to do on a regular basis to help warm my muscles and help prevent future injury. I have been going to this particular physical therapy center for about a year or more now and have to say that overall, the therapist and the type of therapy I have received thus far and continue to receive is absolutely superb! The therapist really knows what he is doing for your particular need, has the right tools to use, gives great advice that you can use at home on your own, and really makes you feel comfortable overall. He really takes his time and is very careful not to overdo it when not needed (particularly when the injury is fresh), but also knows when to push you within the constraints and/or consistent improvement of the injury/medical need of your particular body part. I was having elbow pain for about 2 months and was told by Doctors that I should be resting my arm, doing cross friction massage, and icing due to inflammation. I was doing all three for a while and was still in pain and wasn't seeing any improvements. I looked around for physical therapists near me on Yelp and found Balance and Motion PT. It looked like the perfect place for me. I called first thing in the morning and was scheduled for an appointment in the afternoon for the same day. I was seen by Leonard R. Bautista (the owner). He was attentive, friendly, and helpful regarding my elbow pain concerns. He also answered any questions I had for treatment and recovery. The session lasted for about a hour where I received deep tissue massage, cupping, laser therapy, as well as ultrasound and icing. I immediately felt a difference in my elbow area hours after the treatment was over and cannot express how thankful I am to have found this place. Leonard is a miracle worker! He has been helping me with PT the last few weeks after a torn ACL and meniscus tear and I have progressed so well. I had started seeing a different PT early on post surgery but had to make a change due to where I was recovering and I'm so glad I found Leonard. He does multiple treatments to help your muscles loosen up so that you're able to do the post surgery exercises with less pain and discomfort. He'll also look into other areas of your body that could be affecting your recovery. I even referred him to my parents and now they wish they could see him every day. He definitely works with you individually to make sure each treatment is specialized. Highly recommend for anyone who is recovering from surgery or has any ailments in their bodies. First of all, I hate going to physical therapy... they send you to some large over-crowded, far out-of-the-way place (in a town you'd never normally go visit), show you some stupid exercises, and really don't listen or help you with your problem/ailment. so when I turned 65, medicare said I could go anywhere I wanted... and hey, I spotted 'Balance & Motion' in Cerritos. I went in and Dr. Leonard listened (and asked the right questions!) and worked with me on solving my shoulder problems. his small office and therapy rooms are tidy/neat/clean (so is the bathroom). you lye down, soft music plays, lights are low. he spends about an hour with you, and uses various therapy techniques to address the problem, plus a hot or cold pack at the end. Leonard is knowledgeable, professional, very likable, and easy to talk with. he even plays catch with me (it's part of my therapy, and I now go twice a week). thanks again for solving this maddening "therapy nightmare" of mine! your new pal and fully satisfied customer/client, The High-Mileage Varmint (P.S.
