I used to have intense pain during normal activities (sleeping, sitting, driving) and Stephanie is the best at providing both compassionate care and fast results! She has always doing such a wonderful job at understanding and validating my pain and providing explanations for my scoliosis misalignment. I have learned how to target specific muscles groups and engage my core during my normal activities to prevent my back pain. I have also noticed a big difference after learning breathing and stretching exercises to re-align my scoliosis. Not only does she show me how to do the exercises, but she also explains the purpose behind them. I love how Stephanie is so flexible, from writing/drawing/videoing my exercises and walking to my car to evaluate how I drive. My pain has lowered tremendously! I was referred to MoveWell by a friend and to Miguel in particular to deal with my hip pain. I'd only done PT once before in my life and that experience was less than stellar. Miguel and the MoveWell team changed my thinking on PT! The staff is super friendly and they remember you each time you come in. Miguel worked with me in creating a plan to get my pain in order. He listened to my concerns and tailored each session to create lasting results. I was actually sad when my group of sessions ended, but Miguel gave me the tools I needed to move forward. I found MoveWell PT on Yelp and they exceeded my expectations! I've been recovering from shoulder surgery and was treated here for about 6 months. As someone who works in a rehab program I am pretty particular as I work with therapists all day long. Kevin was my primary PT and he is very skilled/knowledgeable. He really helped me understand my limitations and work through some big barriers. I also worked with Miguel and Karen and they are great as well. I appreciate that each therapist has different yet effective approaches to treatment. Another plus is that your primary PT works with you the entire session. In some programs the PT works with you for about 10 minutes then passes you off to an assistant or puts you on a piece of equipment for 20-30 minutes but patients get a lot of 1:1 here. Kristen, Delaney and Arlene were always helpful in the scheduling/billing areas. They are all very friendly and willing to help however they can. The facility is clean and well-maintained with a variety of equipment for patients to use. I would highly recommend this place for anyone recovering from an orthopedic surgery/injury. Came here with some nagging shoulder pain due to years of wear and tear through tennis. It got to the point where it would bleed into my everyday life. Kevin took care of me right out the gate! Highly recommend this amazing office. All the ladies in the front desk are so sweet and welcoming. Everyone is so friendly. Came here to rehab my knee after surgery. You get one on one sessions with the physical therapist. They try to keep you with the same therapist throughout your time here. Miguel was my physical therapist who helped me gain range of motion and strength back in my leg. He was always so positive and encouraging. Anytime I had a question about knee pain/twinges he was able to explain and show me how to address it. We catered my plan of care base on my personal goals and always revisited our progress every session. I have since graduated from physical therapy and now back at work. I came in yesterday to see Miguel after experiencing some hip and back pain following a long biking trip, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. Miguel was incredibly patient while listening to how I thought the injury occurred and was very thorough in understanding exactly where and when the pain was being triggered. He took the time to explain what was going on in a way that was easy to understand, which gave me a lot of confidence in the recovery process. He then worked through several exercises with me and provided relief to the painful areas during the appointment. When the doctor ordered physical therapy yet again for me earlier this year (2026), I was reluctant, thought I was wasting my time, $ and visits. (My insurance only allows a limited number of visits of a combination of the three (3) (physical, occupational, & speech) therapies per year.) I searched Yelp to aide me in the painstaking and dreaded endeavor of finding a place to go through the motions yet again. After 45 years MoveWell proved me wrong... Been in & out of physical therapy my whole life and never have worked with someone as knowledgeable and intelligent as Kevin Galacgac. From our first day, Kevin blew me out of the water with his knowledge and smarts! Kevin is a master mind when it comes to the physics and mechanics of a person's body! Most physical therapists just treat the "surface"of a person of a person's body....and tell you to TRY NOT to do this or that. Kevin's approach is and was completely different with me where him and I together achieved results for the first time; we and I've been in and out of therapy since I was like 3. During the course of our sessions, Kevin explained why things are the way they are and more importantly, HOW I can lessen or improve certain aspects by giving and showing me good quality exercises that I can do. None of this "just stand there and try not to bend your knee" or "get on the treadmill and try not drag to your right foot" business. He basically told me what I've been doing wrong my whole life where no other physical therapist (before him ) was able to tell me the how and why... and EXPLAIN what I've been doing wrong. I don't know if it's because previous physical therapists were lazy or truly didn't know how to combat my challenges. I hope Kevin never leaves MoveWell or at least tells me whee he is going because he is truly one of a kind. We should how be so blessed and lucky to be treated and seen by someone of Kevin's caliber! THANK YOU, Kevin! The only constructive criticism I have for MoveWell is their billing procedures.. I understand it above all else, MoveWell is a business (which is why I'm not lowering my rating). I got a call in between sessions to pay my nominal bill. I thought that was distasteful and unpleasant. I could see if I wasn't coming back or the balance was sky high, but I was on the schedule to come back....with a nominal balance. Furthermore, my mom was also a patient of MoveWell and was escorted(so she didn't have to walk back and forth) to her car so credit card information could be WRITTEN DOWN and processed (for nominal payment) once the representative got back to the office. This happened on a Thursday and my mom was coming back the following Monday. I get the general gist of everything, but still not cool! I can totally see these drastic measures being taken if patients aren't coming back or MoveWell is having problems with certain people, but most of us are on the honor system and pay for services rendered. Patients don't want to be sent to collections just as much as providers don't want collections paperwork so to me the whole payment experiences were in poor taste--especially for such nominal fees. read more

I've been dealing with lower back pain for the past two years, which started during my second pregnancy. One day, I woke up with weakness in my right thigh -- something I'd never experienced before. My occasional lower back pain turned into constant burning, pins and needles, pressure, itchiness, irritation, and muscle spasms. After getting an MRI, I learned that I had a disc bulge and an annular fissure with scar tissue, meaning I'd had a prior injury. I had a great experience over the 5 months I received physical therapy at Movewell Physical Therapy. From the moment you walk in, the front office team--Arlene, Delaney, and Kristen--make you feel welcome. They're always friendly, helpful, and greet you with a smile. In my opinion, having a strong front office staff really sets the tone for a practice, and they absolutely elevate the experience here. The environment is clean, comfortable, and relaxed, which made it easy to feel at ease during every visit. The entire staff is friendly and creates a welcoming, supportive atmosphere. One thing I really appreciate about Movewell is that they don't use PT aides--every session is one-on-one with a licensed physical therapist. I retired a little over a year ago after working as a Law Enforcement Officer for 28 years and completing a 6 year enlistment as a combat MOS Marine before that (translation: broken body parts). During that time I had seven orthopedic surgeries to patch things up along the way, all requiring lengthy physical therapies to get back to the job. All of that means little, but it most certainly did give me a familiarity with the whole physical therapy process. I got very accustomed to the grind of attending physical therapy, which became a love/hate relationship, with the emphasis on the hate! All four of the previous practices I visited were pretty much all the same in that the first few visits included attentive interactions with the physical therapists, before being released to work mostly with the young physical therapy assistants. After a while it always felt like I was on autopilot from there on out, though I didn't know any better and just accepted it as being the norm. Enter the Move Well Physical Therapy practice in Cypress California! I was fortunate enough to find this practice and "especially" fortunate to have Kevin Galacgac be assigned as my therapist! Not only is Kevin super personable, his knowledge on therapy blew me away when compared to my previous therapists. His ability to understand my hamstring and forearm injuries were immediate, and his prescribed courses of exercises were deliberately designed to layer my strength rehabilitation by gradually starting with my tendons and working up to my muscles. Even better, I was never once released to a 20 something year old assistant, who often times very obviously did not know what they were doing. Nope, every single session was 100% Kevin the entire time and he was on me the whole way not only ensuring that I was performing the exercises correctly, but ensuring as well that I knew why I was doing them and how they were going to help heal my injuries. No BS, no pomp, no fluff, no coddling, just professionally focused physical therapy! As a Mr. Nobody, I felt compelled to write this review and praise Kevin for helping me get back on my feet, which is definitely harder to do these days at 55 years old. Over the past few years I have been a patient twice at MoveWell and both experiences were very positive. They provide a 1:1 patient to physical therapist model which helps to ensure optimal attention and focused treatment by the therapist. I have always struggled on and off with lower back pain. It got so bad that I couldn't sleep through the night without waking up with pain in my back or neck. I tried virtual PT offered for free through work, but it didn't help. The reviews for other PT clinics in north OC all looked really fake, but this one looked really promising. They sadly happened to not take my insurance, but you can come in for a free initial consult and talk through discounted cash payment options. At the initial consult, Karen was so kind, empathetic, compassionate, and wholistic in her care and assessment. She also didn't let me leave without generously equipping me with many tips on my posture before I had even committed to any program. There are options for 8, 12, or 16+ session packages. I left feeling very hopeful! I chose the 12 sessions. We started out with fundamentals including properly activating your core (I've had it wrong my whole life) and proper body mechanics when sitting, walking, getting up. We built up from there to progressively harder stability and strength training exercises. If you arrive already in pain, she's able to perform manual therapy to loosen you up and reduce the pain before you start doing exercises. The whole time was 1 to 1 with Karen. She is very attentive and gives verbal cues and feedback as you're doing each exercise so you get the most out of it. I recently gave birth and was in pretty bad shape, plus I have mild scoliosis. She would tailor the exercises down to my level while factoring in my scoliosis, so that I could build up strength gradually without overexerting or injuring myself. She is also able to adjust your program (sometimes on the fly!) based on your goals, feedback, and lifestyle (e.g. I preferred being able to have exercises that could be done at home without any equipment). I didn't feel like it was a generic program at all. I was afraid I wouldn't remember everything, so after we learned an exercise, she would use my phone to record me doing the exercise WITH her verbal instructions and reminders. That was SO helpful for being able to keep up with exercises at home! She is also super encouraging and optimistic, and never makes you feel judged, weak, inadequate, or lame. This was my first PT experience and I have no regrets coming. I can now sleep through most nights without discomfort and do "normal" life things without needing to lay down at the end of the day. I have more energy and I am starting to feel stronger than I have in many years. I truly enjoyed the time with Karen and wholeheartedly recommend her to everyone! read more

Scheduling my consultation was easy and I was guided through the process by Arlene. I can't begin to say how great this place is. The office staff is friendly and very helpful with my scheduling. Having gone to different PT offices in the past, MoveWell far exceeds the other PTs. I had a torn meniscus and have been in rehab for the past 8 weeks. What I find exceptional is that the therapist, Dean, works solely with me for the whole duration. I received personalized attention, which makes sense because we are all different. He is able to assess my progress and customize new exercises. Previous PT places I've gone to have you finish off with a trainee to work with you, but not here. There are many physical therapy locations closer to my home, but the 20-minute drive is well worth my time because I know I'm being taken care of. read more

I'm a very active surfer who has dealt with ongoing shoulder dislocation issues for several years. This past winter I ended up in the hospital after dislocating my shoulder. Not wanting surgery, I decided to turn to physical therapy and can without a doubt say that I made the right choice with MoveWell, and specifically Karen Wakamoto. The facility is well-kept and efficient, and all of the staff are attentive and friendly. Karen was able to help me not only get back to full strength, but also address a litany of other bodily imbalances and improper muscle engagements that have made me significantly healthier overall and will protect me from any back or hip issues I likely would have faced later in life. It's hard to imagine anyone being more well-versed in DNS and kinesthetics than she is, and I really wouldn't want anyone else to be my physical therapist. On a personal level, Karen is one of the most genuinely caring, empathetic and kind people I've ever met, and I can't thank her enough for what she has been able to do for me. 10 stars! Worked with Stephanie for a couple of months on a complex issue involving the need for strength, core and balance. We began with a thorough evaluation and built the exercises each week. Going above and beyond, Stephanie helped adjust my car seat and find other options to reduce pain and gain strength and balance. Each week, I went home with a manageable program to keep up with the exercises and upon graduation, finally, after almost two years (and trying other PT offices), had regained my strength and balance and reduced pain. I recently finished numerous sessions with Kevin for plantar fasciitis. From my first appointment I was impressed with this facility. It is a clean and welcoming environment. After my first session, I was greeted by name by very time I checked in. The front office staff were very friendly. Kevin is a wealth of information. He took time at every one of my sessions to explain the "why" behind everything we did. I never felt rushed and he always answered my questions thoroughly. He modeled each exercise I was to do at home and made sure I understood before I left. I first came to Move Well before having hip replacement surgery in 2019 and I continued with my relationship with MoveWell for post op recovery care, and chronic back problems, some great afternoon clinics, core stabilization and now for a broken and sprained ankle. Every single therapist who has been assigned to me over the years has been intelligent, attentive, effective and compassionate. The entire office is run by excellent staff, and the energy in the office is positive and friendly. I have referred several friends to Move Well and every one of them has genuinely thanked me, as they have benefitted from the care and professional expertise of therapists and the efficiency and kindness of the office staff. The office prides itself on being up to date on surgical procedures and methods of recovery, strengthening and conditioning. Nice variety of personalities, sports and dance backgrounds to make therapists and staff relatable to all levels of patient recovery and care. Following spinal surgery (both fusion and laminectomy), I had severe neuromuscular pain in my back and my legs. I also developed "foot drop," in which one foot drags as I walk. After visiting several nearby physical therapy facilities, I chose MoveWell and I am very glad that I did. When I discussed my symptoms with the management, they recommended Calvin Chow as my therapist. I am an athletic 71 year old man, and Calvin has worked with me to tailor a rehab program that meets my needs perfectly. He's very empathetic, knowledgeable, and personable. Thanks to Calvin, my symptoms have improved substantially. I could go on and on, but you get the idea - I am very grateful to him and have a very high opinion of him. I should add that the MoveWell facilities are very modern and well-maintained, and the front desk staff is competent and cheerful. I'm a physical therapist who has worked in a variety of different PT clinics, but when I personally need physical therapy THIS is where I go. There are plenty of places where you can get good rehab despite the fact that you'll spend a good portion of your time in the clinic with an aide or exercising on your own, but at MoveWell the therapist's eyes and/or hands are on you almost full time. There is a good balance in that they include both manual therapy and instructions for "homework". Exercise instruction is precise and progressive. There is absolutely no "busy work" nor filler activities--every moment is spent working on your individual issue, and toward a specific goal. Karen is honestly the best therapist I've ever met--not just knowledgeable but intuitive and kind (so you never feel judged as she corrects your form). I've not been treated by Michael or Claudia, but I've watched/listened to them enough to see that they are also top notch therapists as well. As a person in my mid 60's who loves the outdoors, I was concerned because my walking gait was becoming more uneven, resulting in tightness and pain in my hips and lower back after a long walk. Conincidentally, I was reading "Outlive" by Peter Attia where he addresses various aspects associated with living a long, but most importantly, productive/active life. Peter talked in his book about DNS (Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization) a system that aids in proper muscle activation to minimize stress on your joints, ligaments etc. during various movements. While googling this discipline I found Karen Wakamoto close by at MoveWell, who in addition to the normal physical therapy studies, visited Prague to complete training in DNS . I'm so glad I found her!. My walking gait is more even and pain free than it has been for years - I am certain her treatment will add greatly to the active years I have remaining. Full service. The staff is very efficient and friendly. The Therapists here take their time to listen and carefully watch how you do the stretches/exercises so that you are doing each element correctly. Even your breathing! This is not the type of office where you only see the therapist for a few minutes then they pass you off to an assistant. Each session is spent with the expert. The treatment I received has improved not just my neck but my overall day to day living from driving, to computer work to athletics. read more

I came here when my Dr suggested therapy for moderate damage to my Cervical spine. I had never been to PT before and wasn't really sure what to expect, but I knew that I needed to find a way to strengthen my neck to reduce the pain without reinjuring myself. Stephanie was great. She helped not only with the pain, but giving me exercises that allowed me to strengthen my neck over time. This facility was great for the physical therapy I required. My physical therapist, Emily provided me with excellent exercises in order to recover from an injury suffered in a car crash. She also emailed me the exercises with explanations that helped me to continue to recover at home. Her knowledge and diligence really were integral in helping me get full mobility back in my leg. I will continue to do the exercises and feel that I have learned a better way to walk and run. read more

I'm giving this physical therapy place a 5 star review for many reasons. I'm a retired ballerina who had to have a hip replacement sooner than most. I still love being active and am a Pilates instructor as well. So letting this surgery keep me from my lively hood wasn't an option. I highly recommend this place for high level athletes who have injuries! It's not just the run of the mill exercises. They go above and beyond! But yes, you have to do the work on your own as well, if you want to improve quicker. The staff is well trained and knowledgeable from the front desk to the actual PT'S. They are welcoming and helpful and will stir u and keep u on the right path to help you recover and get back to your life before injury/surgery. Great care. Kevin was awesome with my rehab after reverse shoulder replacement. He designed the exercises to fit my profession and got me rolling again very quickly. He was understanding and easy to work with. I would recommend him for anyone who needs physical therapy. read more
