I love how clean this place is . With that being said I hate to have to write this review. After getting my eyebrows done I noticed a chunk of my natural brow was taken off pls look at my pictures . I do not like to have my eyebrows cut with scissors . I am alittle upset because this is my go to place to make me feel girly. It wasn't the owner that did my messed up brows it was whomever she has there which upsets me. Make sure before you leave that you let them know how you like your eyebrows because I didn't. This is a husband and wife operation. The wife does the Threading and husband takes care of all the business and operations. I got my eyebrows threaded on a whim. Been traveling for a while and needed to use the restroom. I came in and immediately the husband asked for my phone number. When asked to use the facilities. They flat out lied and said that they did not have a bathroom. But noticed there was an out of order sign. They treated me like a little kid and did an OK job with my eyebrows. If you had your eyebrows threaded in, and if they're thick like mine, it feels like you're getting scalped on your upper hours. I just wanted to be comfortable, getting my eyebrows threaded. When finished, I did not bother giving gratuity, usually I am a very generous tipper. When I asked for my information for marketing purposes, I ended up giving a fake name and a fake number. I was looking for a local brow service I could go to and stumbled across this Gem. This is actually my second time coming here and the first time I was very impressed with my eye brows and it was also my first time trying the henna eye brows. The ladies did not disappoint me at all! I loved how they did my eye brows and they introduced me to henna tinting because my eyebrows are so light. I am so glad they did! It lasted me a good 3.5 weeks! I loved waking up to full eye brows and not having to darken them every morning. This has become my new brow home permanently now. My second visit Bala herself was able to do my eyebrows and henna ! She did such an amazing job and I was asking her to teach me about the henna as well so maybe in the future I can try myself. My hands aren't as sturdy as hers so I'll probably keep going back for henna as well. Very clean and sanitary business , and easy to find. Right next to the massage place. The two stars is because of the pain. I guess technically giving it stars would make me a masochist - two stars is for quickness and pricing. I hate to do this, but I feel like it's very odd how no one mentioned anything about the searing pain that is threading (here). I have had my fair share of eyebrow threading, the place I frequent at home rarely hurts (if at all), and the only part that does is underneath the eyebrow. The other place in San Leandro didn't hurt either, for some reason this place almost made me tear up and I was so close to telling her to stop lol but beauty is pain right ? Luckily she finished mine in 2minutes, maybe even less. Bae on the other hand was not so lucky; his brows are thicker and he had more strays than I did. If I was in this pain for 2min, it made me shit bricks for his turn. Bae said the thread kept snapping and whole heartedly agreed that that was one of his most painful beauty experiences ever. My lady at home provides an aloe massage and some witch hazel once the process is complete, this lady ripped your hairs off and trimmed a bit all the while for you to bite your tongue. For the redness that proceeds, I do think some aloe would be beneficial. I guess you do get what you pay for. $2 off if you checkin, but is it really worth the pain to have your face framed better? She's a nice lady BUT IT HURT SO MUCH. read more
