Currently they have free delivery from Naarden to Bussum. So, you'll still be able to get bread, drinks, and sweet and savory pastries.
During when it's normal, Bakkerij Kwakman is a homey, clean, little bakery that's located very conveniently (on the other corner, same side) of the hop-on hop-off canal boats' Leidsestraat stop. Super basic bakery stuff, nothing too fancy, but tasty and done well with a pretty good variety. In addition to their small loaves of bread (there seems to be a focus on sourdough), they also really emphasize themselves as a croissanterie (?). I got a croissant as well as a frikandelbroodje (sausage roll). It was a cold day and munching on toasted, warmed up pastries during a cloudy day while out on the canal was so GOOD. Additionally, they also had smoothies, bottles of fresh squeezed orange juice, and just a bunch of little treats set out for sale. Just head up on keeping an eye out cause they kind of have little things all over the place.
They're a small place, and overall is pretty narrow. There's not much in terms of seating, just small counter inside with a few bar stools indoors. They do actually have a small outdoor space, which is a bit comparatively different to the surroundings. Outdoors, they have this little L-counter that encloses another two or three other bar stools, practically set onto the sidewalk. It was very cute.
Overall, I thought the variety of simple but delicious food and drinks and cute, homey space makes this a great breakfast nook if you live nearby. I'd encourage people to visit when things are okay again. read more
