a box of assorted breads in a car

I've tried alot of panderias in San Diego and this is easily the best, it has a huge selection, and you find pan here most other panderias won't have. Definitely going back when I'm craving some great pan dulce

This panadería never disappoints. Delicious bread, friendly staff, and great service. Try the custard pan dulce of any type ... it's delicious!

    Fresh everyday tamales- sooo yummy

Ok, so the parking lot is small and the center is t super fancy- but please give this place a try! The kindest most generous small bakery! I walked in and shared I didn't know much about Hispanic breads and pastries-Well the owner walked out and shared, explained and put me at ease! He even sent me home with samples! Their sweets look and taste amazing! Dinner rolls are hugs and fluffy! And they have fresh Daily pretty big and hot tamales! I went a bit crazy! But our local community has rallied around this business to support as Covid has been harsh. Please stop and support.

Bolillo (Mexican sub roll) 3 for $1

I was craving donuts and my husband told me let me surprise you...as we pull up, I was like where did you bring me? From the parking lot the place definitely didn't look the most appealing bakery. It looked like a small and not very busy bakery. From the views outside, it looked like half of the bread cases were empty. Given that it was 3 hours before closing time I was skeptical I would find fresh tasting Mexican sweet bread. Well I was wrong! As I walked in, a whiff of fresh baked bread hit me. Even though there were sides of cases that were empty, they still had fresh bolillo (Mexican rolls) out of the oven and some conchas (bread covered with sugar paste) too! As soon as I picked a tray, a storm of customers walked in. Their bread sells fast and why probably explains the empty cases. They also sell other items. Saw a fridge with Mexican jellos with a variety of color and flavors. Might try their coconut one next time I come by. Once checking out I also noticed they sell coffee and Mexican hot chocolate, champurrado. Had not had champurrado in a while so I grab a cup of that. It wasn't too bad, just a little thick to my liking but it was great otherwise not too sweet and perfect companion to my sweet bread. Great place to go on a chilly night if you ask me! It might not look all that from outside but inside is where you find the good stuff! In the end for $7 i ended with 3 bolillos, one champurrado, 4 conchas, and one sweet bread. Not bad at all!

    Only masa literally

horrible tamales, only masa and not any filling. masa had no flavor whatsoever and the spicy was not even good. We paid 20 bucks for just unflavored masa.

I would say one of the best mexican bakeries around. A hole in the wall, but delicious.

The cashier let me know that the apple fritters I was looking at were fresh out of the oven and still warm, so I had to try those and they were the best apple fritters I've ever had! (Fresh is always better, of course). But we also tried their blueberry cake donuts, maple bars, glazed old fashions, and a few others and all were very soft, luscious, and just a perfect version of that type of donut. I have high standards for baked goods and it only took touching one of their classic sugar covered donuts and feeling just how pillowy soft it was to know they have an amazing rise and fantastic quality. I will be returning here from now on for all my donuts!! The shop is cute inside too. They have small tables for eating your purchase afterwards and offer coffee and tea. It doesn't feel like you're in the way here and the service was incredibly friendly and welcoming. No critiques whatsoever!

The pastries are definitely on the higher-priced side and we weren't too hungry, so we opted for the strawberry croissant since it was the last one left. I was hoping to try their cinnamon roll, as it looked amazing and had a selection of flavors to pick from. The lady who helped us was friendly and packed the croissant for me, and we took it to go. The strawberry croissant had some vanilla cream along with strawberry slices in the center cut of the croissant. The cream was nice, light, and not overly sweet, which tasted great with the strawberry. The croissant was a little disappointing, as it wasn't flaky, very dense, and on the softer side. It still had a good buttery flavor but overall it was mid. As we continued eating, I ended up chewing on something plasticky, and I believe it might have been the front cut of a plastic piping bag. I'm glad it was a fairly small piece or else I probably would have swallowed it...It is disappointing that a big piece of plastic ended up in the cream where no one had caught it during the process of making it.
