My client set the appointment with the company which I arrived the owner did contact me 10 mins before to notify me the locksmith was running behind which I understand you can't predict how long other appointments will take the tech shows up 45 mins later. Upon arrival he was very professional and I showed him the locked I needed rekeyed and replaced as instructed by my client. When I asked how much the cost would be he quoted 65 per set and 35 for labor per lock. I do not do this on a daily so I took that as that is 65 plus 35 per door. This home is a 2 bedroom 1 bath home with 4 doors and a closet door exterior for the laundry room. Ok, I agreed. After he completed I got the total and it was 892. My client where VERY upset as they felt they should of been told it was going to be double which I do agree as I stood there I clearly asked ok 65.00 and 35 a set. I think with dealing with locks, new locks, rekeys etc. I would recommend that you quote the price right then, have customer sign, then complete work. If I would of know it was 892.00 My client would of just did a basic rekey on 2 doors and went through there warranty. That cost was more than there house payment and they just bought the home. so I had to pay the bill for them. I hope that doesn't happy to another elderly person in fact anyone. Based on their excellent Yelp reviews, I called for a quote and appointment to make some keys for two of our cars. The male on the phone was pretty short and said they were booked for the rest of the day (Fri 10/26). I said no problem as I had working keys and just needed some extras. As we were setting a time to meet the next day, I asked for an approximate amount for what I needed done. He said $500 - $600. Wow, I told him that seemed really high. He was unapologetic and said both our Lexus and Toyota had complicated security and were expensive to key. I said thanks and decided to do some more research. Without going too far into the tech details, I needed a combo key/ remote cut and programmed (had a brand new uncut key from Lexus) for a Lexus and two keys cut and programmed for our son's 4Runner. There's certainly no question keys for cars these days can be expensive. I called the local Lexus dealer and they quoted me $140 to cut and program my key/remote. Bill Wright Toyota wanted $80 to cut and program the two Toyota keys. Total was $220... So, it looks like if you're locked out or in some other distress, Bakersfield Team Locksmith may be who you need to call. Just be ready to pay big and put up with a little attitude. read more

I have an original 1920s front door lock that was sticking and giving me trouble. I called several companies and not one company or person would help. I called Bakersfield Locksmith, Debbie answered and was so helpful and understanding. She sent out Marty and Delta to look at the door/lock. We discussed pros and cons and decided to find a replacement lock. I found the lock, Delta reviewed it and we were good to go. Once the replacement arrived the guys returned immediately toinstall. During the install Marty discovered the new lock didn't fit (they looked identical but was slightly off and would be hard to tell in pictures) but the original lock could be saved by a minor fix that, which we all thought was not possible. Within 30min my 1920s lock was back up and turning like new. Saving the lock and not having to replace the door (door is also original from the 20s) was worth every penny spent. I was out of town in Bakersfield and my car key broke off in my ignition. AAA locksmith quoted $385 with a 3+ hour wait (there were 6 people ahead of me). If I waited overnight, they'd charge me $185. Hmmmm. No transportation and no hotel. Called home and hubby found Bakersfield Team. They were GREAT. It turned out to be a hard job too. First Ron had to get the piece of key out of the ignition. The 2 pieces wouldn't make a good replacement so he needed to take the ignition out of the steering column but the steering wheel was locked and wouldn't let him do it. So he had to take the lock out of the trunk. And all of this was In The Rain. Ron was super. Charged $235 and he was worth every penny. read more
