I would rate my experience a 3.5 out of 5. We decided to stop in while we were already in the plaza visiting another store. We noticed the bakery, and my youngest daughter wanted to try macarons, so we went in looking for them. They didn't have any available for purchase and we were told the ones in the display case were no good. The staff member did make my daughter one macaron, saying that was all she could do maybe because it was later in the day. My other daughter wanted cupcakes, so I agreed. She asked for white frosting, not realizing that six cupcakes would cost $18. I ended up paying $22 total for one macaron and six vanilla cupcakes with white frosting. The staff member said the cupcakes were $3 or 4 each and really good, she said they are worth it, I felt was high or maybe I am just use to what I am use to paying. The ambiance was okay but not really bakery like, we only interacted with one staff member. The cupcakes were just okay to me, slightly lemon tasting. Overall, I'll stick with Sam's Club cupcakes. read more

Since it was a beach wedding, we went with white chocolate, seashells and starfish and a coral type vibe. They did fantastic with the design & the flavors. Everybody loved it so much, friends and gam stated ordering from here too. We did my son's bday canes with them for hears, they have gotten quite pricey so we don't do it for kids birthdays anymore, but if you're looking for something very specific, they can do just about any design. I also did my sister's baby shower cake, and matching cupcakes and cactus and succulents and made it match the invitations perfectly..But the best part of the cake actually taste phenomenal!!! read more

Well I try to go into every business with an open mind and give everyone a fair chance at service. I feel this business was not as quite transparent with their approach. Nothing was priced and everything in the case was for display. The shop is basically a cake order facility but it does not read that way on the store window. The only thing in the store was display cakes and empty display cases. Sorry just not impressed and for the amount of items I got it was not worth the money. It could use a lot of improvements. I went with white almond and it was moist and the frosting was good. I will say the appearance inside the bakery could be improved and the cigarette smell is strong. We'll be ordering a wedding cake for my daughter's upcoming wedding and petit fours for her bridal shower. I will also add, it's very important to be as specific and detailed as possible to get the cake results you want. The more inspo photos you provide, the better. If you're looking for an inexpensive custom cake, Sam's or HEB is more budget friendly. I don't mind paying for a cake that my party guests rave about. I also read a few reviews about the bakery itself. It's been in the same location for a long time, and is next to a neighborhood bar that has been there just as long. Makes the prettiest custom cakes! Order birthday cakes here two times already (one time for myself and the other for my sister)! The owner lady is super friendly and nice! Make sure to text them beforehand with screenshots of pictures of what you want your cake to look like. For the two cakes I ordered, she matched the cake exactly to the pictures I sent her. Not only was the cake pretty but also delicious. Although it was a pretty big cake, the cake was still fluffy and moist. I highly recommend the German chocolate flavor! Misspelled my daughter's name on her birthday cake. Are you kidding me? We went over the spelling multiple times. I had used them for my older daughter's cake in May. They had misspelled her name as well but she caught it and they corrected it. I thought it was a "one off" and since the cake was beautiful and delicious I decided to give them another chance. I even reminded them of their mistake in May and asked them to be certain that it didn't happen again. They assured me that things like that never happened and that it would not be an issue. I had my older daughter pick up the cake for me and she didn't notice the spelling. I should have just gone to Kroger. It would have been edible and the name would have been right. I will never use them again as I have zero confidence now. What a shame. Update: I spoke to the bakery Tuesday morning, and they told me if I wanted a refund I needed to produce the cake. I'm sorry, what? Who does this??? The candles were lit, and we were singing happy birthday to my 10-year-old when I saw the mistake. You want me to stop and say, "Oops wait...sorry kids...no cake today. I need to keep it until Tuesday so I can get a refund." I mean what did they expect me to do? Go get the little Debbie snack cakes from the pantry, stick a few candles on them and party on? They also told me that when I noticed the name was spelled incorrectly that I should have called them so they could come over with some fondant and correct it. Again... Who does this??? You want me to have my guests wait for the "professional" baker who spelled my daughter's name incorrectly to come over and throw a little fondant on my cake? That's not awkward or anything. Summary: ordered a cake a week in advance, prepaid $95, they lost my order form, never made the cake, rushed to make it after they serve other customers in 30 minutes, and only offered a measly coupon that was already available to the general public on the front counter, and an insensitive remark about how I'd be happy once I tasted the cake. Went in a week in advance to pick a design and order a half sheet chocolate and vanilla/white cake. We discussed the designed a paper order form was written and the cake was paid for, nearly a hundred dollars. Sounds a bit pricey, but for the perfectly designed childhood birthday cake it's worth it right? RIGHT??.... This is how the the one star rating was produced: I arrived the day of the birthday to pick up the cake and she didn't remember the name on the cake, or the credit card I paid with, or the design. She began to continuously flip through order forms, and then asked me for my receipt. I didn't have the receipt but continued to tell her the day and the design and that we had picked it out from their own design book. She then started to take another customer as she wandered around the store and the front cake fridge "think" about the cake. After she helped the other customer with some cupcakes as I tried to call home for someone to find the receipt and I continued to just stand there staring at her she continued to just wander around the shop like she was confused. Okay now I'm just ranting... They lost the order form, the cake wasn't ready, one was never designed! So pro tip: They'll charge your card $95 dollars for sure but wont think to blink an eye at the thought of "oh well who's cake is it that I'm making that I'm receiving this payment!?" I didn't yell at her though I was furious, but I sure did ask her why she continued to look for an order form, continued to help others when she need to sort my cake order out first, and why she didn't just go looking for a cake with my design on it! Eventually there weren't anymore customers and she said that she'd make the cake in 30 minutes. She had two cakes in the back baked to my cake's specifications and that that she's do it now and deliver the cake... I don't know about you but a cake that I paid $95 dollars for I don't expect to be half a$$ed and made in a quick 30 minutes. Not only that but they were going to be closed during that time! Heaven forbid she be late delivering the cake, or not come at all, or who knows... So I waited there for her to put the cake together and design it. It was not the design we had discussed, nor worth the $95 at that point. In the long run, the birthday girl wouldn't know what trouble had occurred. So I got the cake and left. The only "sorry" the baker came up with was taping one of the many stacked discount coupons they had on the counter to the box. 10% off a $75 purchase. Insult to injury she laughed about how there were three of them rushing to make the cake in the back, and that once we tasted the cake we'd be happy... I'm never coming here again. Small note: the cake was moist at least, had it not been I'd probably want to smear it across their front steps. Thanks for baked my day into a steaming pile of stressed out turd lady. Advice for the owners, people talk about service, birthday ideas and "Where'd you get the cake", especially people with children. Had I been this lady I'd do everything in my nature to reprimand for the mistake... a half sheet designed cake for a child's birthday cake... Guess what 30 kids and their parent's are never coming to your bakery now. Horrible. read more

I ordered a birthday cake for my husband after reading the good reviews. However, I was really disappointed after receiving the cake. First of all, it is super expensive for a simple cake. They charge you for any single decoration they add on the cake. The smallest basic cake is $30 and then on top of that is the decorations cost. It did cost me $50 for a very small and simple cake. Second, the taste is awful. I could get a much tastier cake from the stores such as Kroger or HEB. The only thing that was good about the cake was its appearance. That's all. That was my first and last order from this bakery. Don't waste your money buying cake from this store unless the only thing that is important for you is the appearance of the cake. And bear in mind that you have to pay a lot for any decoration on the cake that you have in mind. read more
