Really nice experience! Hadn't been to this location in some time and glad to see things have improved! If you went there 1-2 years ago, you know what I mean. This time, staff was friendly and welcoming. Ultimo burrito (chicken) tasted fresh and good; Baja burrito (steak) was very good - plenty of tasty steak and guacamole was throughout the burrito. You know how sometimes things in the burrito are in a clump at one end so you get a bunch of something at one end and none of that at the other?? This wasn't like that - it was a well-made burrito. The chicken taquitos were fresh and tasted like it. Perfectly fried - not burnt. Great selection of Baja Fresh salsas were all on ice and almost all full - the counter was spotless and the rest of the restaurant was clean as well. Folks, right after I worked out I needed to run to the DMV. On the way there I started having the realization of how genuinely hungry I was. Was I ever excited to see the sign for this Baja Fresh location and know it was right by the DMV. Sure enough, finished my business quick and ran over for my favorite salad. Ok, so I am a mess when ordering because I want it how I want it but it is delicious. I get the tostada salad only with no shell, no guac and no sour cream. Then I ask for an order of the grilled chicken AND an order of shrimp. They will do 50/50 but I prefer a full order of each. Next I add black beans and also sliced avocado and a side of their cilantro ranch dressing which is what I use for salad dressing (and I always take how the remainder left for salads at home). The nice counter person took my order well making certain she got it right and they did get it perfectly right! My salad was great - I know it can be complex for them to take the order. Even during my order some extremely rude guy came up with a mouth full of food and picking through his salad saying (with mouth full of food and me in the middle of my order) that his salad had no chicken that he could find. She was very sweet and apologized to us both - quickly asked the kitchen for a side of chicken which they slammed out even before I was done ordering. Bravo... I was very happy to discover I even not just had a coupon that they had sent my for a few bucks off but I have a rewards card only good at three locations - this being one of them so yay for another punch on that! read more

I haven't been to, or even seen, a Baja Fresh in many many years. I always thought they were local to California, and are a precursor to build your own burrito chains like Qdoba and Chipotle. Since I'm still exploring all of my restaurant/bar options in Sherwood, I came across Baja Fresh when running errands one day and decided to give it a try since, at this point, it would be nearly 15 years since I went to one. I ordered a black bean burrito with pico de gallo and it was serviceable. The price was $6.79- slightly cheaper than Chipotle but keep in mind that if you want to add guacamole, it will be extra and likely more expensive than Chipotle. The biggest difference is that the burrito is grilled, and in my opinion has a better texture because of it. Portion size was generous, though the black beans were a bit watery and ruined the last few bites. My burrito also came with some chips on the side, though these were boring and only mildly salted. More than likely, I won't be back here often unless I need to mix up my typical burrito schedule. It might be nice to get something different, but the ordering system and pricing isn't nearly as flexible or reasonable as Chipotle. It was a fine experience- the service was friendly and fast, but the food isn't spectacular. read more

We've gone to this location every couple of months, for the past 5 years. This time, the salsa verde was not green, but brown... I thought maybe they just used different tomatoes, so I got a couple, put lids on them, and went home. When I took them out of their bag, the lids were already bubbled up, and when I removed the lids, the gasses escaping made a loud popping noise, as it pushed the lid off with force. I don't know how many days salsa takes to go bad, but this was gross, and unacceptable. read more

I grew up eating Baja Fresh in the late 90's/early 2000's and remember it being...fine, if not slightly better than fine, which is okay! I always could expect food that was at least satisfying. This time...not so much. I ordered online a Mexicano Burrito with chicken, and it had to be at least 75% rice, with a smattering of beans and chicken here and there. Every aspect of it was incredibly DRY, which is my main complaint. Even dousing it with salsa -- which was actually good -- barely did anything to make it more palatable. Speaking of the salsa, I ordered three containers, and only got two. The chips that came along with it were also super stale, and bland as well. I don't think there'll be a next time for Baja Fresh, especially with Chipotle just up the road. read more

No happy with this location! Quite literally the worst Baja I've ever been to. Not just the food but availability of items and the customer service. Start by saying that I tried to order chicken taquitos, they didn't have them. Okay that's fine. I'll order my chicken Baja burrito, enchilado style. Then I try to order a large beverage. They're out. Only have regular. Again. Okay that's fine, I can deal with it and also remembered I had a refillable cup in my car. I washed it and used it. But the lady working only talks the very minimum and has this annoyed type of attitude and look on her face. Then I get my food and ask for a knife to cut my burrito since it is smothered in enchilada sauce. Yep, you guessed it, they don't have any knives. Thursday lunch at 12:30 and it was pretty lively and busy with many people eating already and one person in line before me. I haven't been to this Baja Fresh in some time and have seen in three different occasions, the management changing. This new management seems to be great! The person taking my order was very polite and greeted me when I walked in. I ordered the new chicken torta and my dad got the steak ultimo burrito, with a $2 off coupon out order came to a little over $14. The salsa bar was stocked and clean as well as the drink area. I waited 10 minutes for my to go order and in the time being there was a lime starting to form. I believe the manager opened up another computer to take orders as soon as there were more than two people in line. My dad wished there was more steak vs vegetables in the burrito and the chicken torta had some great ingredients- grilled chicken, queso, sour cream, avocado, lettuce and tomatoes. The bread was quite fluffy which was enjoyable but at times I would just take a bite of the bread as it was a little too thick and with so many sauces (sour cream and queso) I couldn't taste them individually. It was mainly the sour cream and chicken I tasted. Filling but not sure if I would order it again. It does seem that Baja Fresh is continuously coming up with new menu items. I can see myself going back here if I have a sudden craving that isn't tacos or burritos as there is quite a big menu. The spacious restaurant with it being clean and the great staff is a plus! read more

When we checked to see what time they closed all information clearly said 8pm, we got there at 6:30pm. The person taking our order was obviously not happy that we decided to bother her with our presence or spend our money there. She was rude and could care less. AFTER all four of us order, she looks at us and says, "We're closing in 30 minutes, are you planning on eating here?", in a manner that really meant "Are you seriously going to bother me?" We told her that we would eat there. She didn't give us chips, the food arrived. There was no hot sauce or pico de Gallo out. I asked here if we could get some, she tells me that they're out there. I told her they were not, she rudely says "They're at the end of the counter". Now remember, normally these are packed in ice. We swung in here after my husband swore it was delicious. There goes the trust in our marriage. Not only is it overpriced ($3.19 or something like that for a single taco), we ordered two things and they messed up my daughter's order (asked for cilantro only, no onions, no salsa.. they gave her onions and salsa- no cilantro). I ordered carnitas tacos, and they were the most flavorless carnitas tacos I've ever had. My daughter felt the same way about hers. Neither of my kids were fans of their tortilla chips either. Was crazing fish tacos Saturday night, took a break from Casa Colima (always a 5/5) and I have to say the grilled Wahoo "fish" was the worst version of seafood -- if that's what it truly was -- that I've ever put in my mouth. Tasted more like the scraps and shrapnel of other pieces of fish, or possibly dried out chicken. The kind you'd find at the end of the day if you scraped from every corner of the grill. And maybe some pieces that'd been lodged in between the oven and the wall awhile. Oldest, hardest, driest pieces of mysterious "white meat" I've ever had the misfortune to try and eat. It's a Baja Fresh... so the food is the corporate Baja Fresh menu. There's nothing special here. But what is a bit special is the decor. The Sherwood Baja Fresh is a prototype of a new decor which is warmer, more contemporary, and more inviting. Some of the seating areas even have USB power outlets! How cool is that? They also have, weather permitting, pleasant sidewalk outdoor seating. The food lives up to the Fresh in the name. I'm told that Baja Fresh locations don't have freezers, so everything has to be fresh. The salsas taste bright and fresh. The shrimp in my shrimp Baja Burrito are nicely-cooked and taste grilled. The result is a nice burrito lunch. Unfortunately, they fall on a pet-peeve of mine -- and many other Oregonians: single-use, landfill-bound paper plates and plastic utensils. I just don't want every meal I eat to send more plastic to our landfills. Even the beverage cups are disposable plastic. It's bus-up-after-yourself at Baja Fresh and recycling bins are NOT provided. So, in conclusion, the new dining room is great and the food is above average for fast-food. If you've got to eat fast, this is a good option. read more

I am a baja fresh super fan! I have eaten at a bunch of the restaurants and really enjoy the menu. This restaurant just opened up and it was good. It wasn't great but it will just take the a little time to work out the bugs. I ordered the chicken ultimo burrito, enchilado style. It didn't have very much filling, the sauce was very sparse and the cheese wasn't melted all the way. The salsa bar was incredible as always. The staff was warm and friendly. The restaurant was clean and well organized. We went in around dinner time so there were a number of patrons. They handle us quickly and efficiently. Overall a good experience. This is by far the worst managed Baja Fresh i have ever been to. I was loving it spending upwards of $100 /mth here. But now, unlike other locations, they have a slew of retentive rules meant to inconvenience customers. 1, you cant request an 8oz white bowl for salsa. They are so worried about people freeloading their free salsa you have to use the tiny 1 oz containers only. We are only eating what we use that sitting so its not like we are even trying to leave with any. Why you can do anyway if you use the tiny black containers. 2. You cannot request a free water cup to put your salsa in, again because of this. 3. You cannot re use a baja fresh container for salsa because supposedly its a dept of health issue. Its the only baja that ever hassled us. The ones in beaverton, scholls ferry, and hwy 99 have never batted an eye. So i will no longer take my business to sherwood. I hope you loosen your sphincters a bit before you drive all your customers away. read more

I enjoy Baja Fresh, but I have had problems the past three times I've been to the Sherwood location. This time all staff members were eating lunch at a table together when I came in. Once I was in line, one came to take my order, then when that was done, one came to cook. There were no napkins out, so I had to ask for one. I ordered the grilled wahoo and it came well charred. At least it did flake like fish. The last 2 times I went to this location I ordered the fish, but I'm pretty sure they gave me chicken instead. The meat did not flake like fish, but tore down the length of the strip and was chewy. I'm vegetarian so it's been years since I've had chicken. They used the same seasonings so I could be wrong, but that was some strange fish. read more

The Sherwood location has delicious food. We went this evening for dinner though and the restaurant was just filthy. It was really surprising I have never seen a restaurant this dirty. Every table every chair covered in food crumbs and sticky from soda. The chairs were all kind of a screw and it was clear no employee had been attending to the eating area all day and it looked like not all week. It was hard to find one table to sit at that we didn't have to wipe all the food off. The employees were outside and in the kitchen taking selfies and on their phones. We were there 5/4/19 at 5pm. They were nice and friendly and are great food but it made me seriously question if the cooking area is clean if this is how the eating area looks. read more
