Chicken Burrito Is Good...
J P.

Older gentleman with glasses should not be in customer service! He was rude and did not listen to what I was asking him. He kept talking over me and my friend and didn't care what we were saying. Very rude and grumpy! Plus side...There is a younger guy and a manager named JR. who are both great and pay attention to detail and they are both good to their customers. As usual food is good and the vibe / ambiance is chill...

Chicken Tostada Salad
Stan C.

Bring in dinner for the granddaughters. They requested chicken quesadillas from Baja Fresh ($11.50). It has been years since I have eaten here but always had good experiences. I ordered the tostada salad with chicken and black beans ($11.50). Each meal comes with a small bag of chips. The quesadillas came with a very generous side of guacamole nad a side of sour cream. Portion size was way more than either of them could finish. Good taste and great value. My tostada salad was also quite tasty with a large portion of chicken (still warm), shredded cheese, guacamole, pico de gallo, sour cream, and black beans in a tasty crisp shell. Too large a portion for me to finish. Again, good taste and, at $11.50, great value especially for fast food.

Chicken Ultimo Burrito with broken glass/hard plastic

We stopped by on Sunday evening and ordered Chkn Bowl and a Chkn Ultimo Burrito. Halfway through eating my burrito, I found a piece of glass/hard plastic, with one sharp corner and approximately 1"x1.5" in size inside the burrito. The store manager had already left the store. The cashier called him at my request. The manager ( Junior) told me that they don't use glass/hard plastic in the kitchen line, did not apologize and offered to provide a refund or another burrito. Watch out if you ever eat at this place!

Let's start off with location wise it's very centrally located in the valley so you can get to it fairly quick. Parking was not it's best. It is on Ventura Blvd so street parking is very difficult. They do have onsite parking in the back but there's only about 5 spots only and it seems like most of them are take either by staff or delivery vehicles. Now walking into this place you are def transported into a very lively Mexican culture that is undeniably amazing. I loved the decor and how you just feel at home. They are playing music the whole time loud enough for you to feel the vibes but still be able to have conversations. Now the food let me just say 10/10. I had the mole the presentation is amazing and the taste of it is even better. My fiancé had the aguachiles con mango which he says are also a 10/10. Finally my mother ordered the queso birria tacos which were pretty good as well. The margarita flight was def my favorite, I am not a big margarita fan as they tend to be a bit sweet for my liking but these were actually pretty well balanced and delicious. Overall I had a great experience the service was good. Will def be coming back and will recommend.

Came in last night to celebrate a friend's birthday (they have happy hour all day Mon-Wed) and was pleasantly surprised. My friends started off ordering the HH guava margaritas, which they enjoyed. I ordered the coconut margarita (not on HH) a must !!!! Not overwhelmingly sweet and tasty! We ordered and rated the following dishes: Guacamole: 9/10 HH tinga Nachos: 7.5/10 (flavor was there but most chips were burnt) HH Taquitos papas: 9/10 great flavor and sauce HH steak tacos: 7.5/10 the corn and portion of meat to the taco was very good. The steak a little well done for my liking. Enchiladas verde: 9/10 great portion honestly enough for two to share. Rice and beans were okay. Beans a bit salty and rice was a bit bland. Would definitely come back for the apps and drinks! They also have brunch which looks like fun.

It is a gas station, so parking is limited. Inside is just a regular gas station with all the normal amenities and no indoor seating. You order and pay at the FRONT counter (they have menus if you ask) then you take your receipt to the cooks at the back. We ordered two breakfast burritos, I usually get half the egg amount but they did a great job incorporating everything together. These are on the larger side and are rolled so they're a little more "flat" then round. They are served on a bed of chips too. The hot sauce was good but not crazy hot. Steak, Egg and Cheese - 3.9 Stars - a solid burrito. The ingredient ratio was slightly off. Steak was tender but under seasoned. I liked the beans but missed the hashbrowns. The veg really helped round out the texture and flavor nicely. Bacon Egg and Cheese - 4.8 Stars - Great burrito. Perfect ratio of ingredients, well seasoned veggies, salty crispy bits of bacon along with the satisfying crunch and flavor of perfectly fried hashbrown.

It has been consistent throughout the years, and the only thing that has changed is now ordering is at the gas station counter and bringing the receipt to the pick up counter. It's a mix of SoCal and NorCal style. Still have the paper wrapper so the tortilla is crispy but it has rice and beans. This time I got a breakfast burrito which I wouldn't say is their strong point but the cheese is melty and they use real eggs and fresh vegetables. I would say their carne asada burrito is their strongest value, so go for that. They give chips with the order and usually only one cup of salsa, so if you want more make sure to ask.

Like bro I literally see you chewing gum with your mouth wide open while being rude and providing zero customer service. Keep in mind, that I only came here because the taco stand down the street is closed. Sometimes business wonder why we support tacos stands or small businesses is because of places like this that lose their essential care. No customer service, mediocre food, and employees that are unsatisfied with their jobs. They were pitched out in a private parking lot, tents, tables, and stools where one of the dining areas was at. There was another better lit dining area across the parking lot. I had three tacos and a drink - they didn't have enough Jamaica so it wasn't filled all the way :/ The tacos were good, loved the handmade fluffy tortilla they came in. I had the shrimp, carne asada, and carnitas tacos. I kind of thought some were lagging in flavor, but I could have just requested more salsa to add to them that probably would have helped with that. The three tacos were filled nicely and I didn't leave still hungry. It was still a unique experience coming here because the underdog of the night were her tortillas! They were quite unique for street style sized tortillas imo and I appreciated the surprise. While it was a pleasure meeting the woman behind it all and her helpers, I am not sure if I would go out of my way to come back unless I were already in the area or maybe if I needed to cater for a party. I would say if you're looking for a caterer - come to their pop-up first and see if you like her food. They have a catering menu available.

I use the El Torito app, which gives the users many promotional offers, and one is a free birthday entrée each year. The night we most recently stopped by, my significant other and I decided at the last minute to take advantage of the offer before it expired. For the first time in a long time, we dined in the regular dining area rather than the cantina. Our server was Victor, and I noticed another person with him. I asked her if she was training and she said she was. As it turned out, it was first day working at El Torito. Although it was Reina's first day at the restaurant, it was not her first day working in a restaurant! She was a true pro!! Between the two of them, we were taken care of throughout the night. We even had a visit from Sam after I mentioned his name to Victor, and it was so nice to say hi since he was not working the last couple of times I was there. He even made sure to ensure that I had a birthday dessert. The food was prepared well and was delicious. I tried the seafood taco trio and was happy to be able to get a combination of shrimp and mahi mahi tacos. My significant other got the sizzling enchiladas. We also had salads, and overall, it was a lot of food. The manager, Matthew, also stopped by to check on us throughout the evening. Everyone really made an effort to make the birthday dinner special.
