My handy local liquor store. I seldom buy anything but wine, and despite being such a small store the selection is pretty good. All the usual suspects are on the shelves, and I've found some gems on the racks as well, all at really good prices.
And they're very accommodating to their regular customers. They'll stock something on request (as long as you're going to buy it, of course!), and if there's something not normally kept chilled, they'll gladly keep some in the cooler for you. (I learned this when I happened to see merlot in the fridge alongside the whites. Cold red wine isn't my thing, but to each their own.)
Oh, and have you noticed their hours? Yes indeed, folks. They are open until 9 pm on Sundays! And I couldn't get very good shots because they were rearranging their floor plan and there was stuff all over the place, but what do you notice in the photos? That's right - they're grouping all the wines by type rather than brand. That's how liquor is shelved and higher end wines are racked, so why not the "everyday" wines? Don't know how the purveyors feel about it, but I personally think it's quite brilliant. read more
