When there are mysterious symptoms, I like that they are willing to help me explore ways I can investigate them to find a proper diagnosis. Over the years, I have seen the clinic evolve to be a true and organized primary care center. Dr. Connie Le also teaches medical students and fine tunes their ability to properly diagnose conditions. I have seen her do this, and she proves it again and again that she is a master of medical knowledge. Something that seems minor, such as a wasp bite, was properly diagnosed as cellulitis and treated with the correct prescriptions. In addition, they are great at monitoring severe conditions and reminding me about routine lab tests and follow-up diagnostic exams. I had needed lots of medical appointments involving surgery and more. It is a great relationship where I can trust them with recommending the correct follow-up procedure and intervals. It is fairly easy to get an appointment within a week. Appointments with Dr. Connie Le may take a bit longer to get since she is in high demand. However, they also try to fit in urgent appointments. I have had no billing issues. Yay! The staff is professional and helpful. I also work in healthcare and silently observed the way they operate. They are very organized, which is the top criteria I look for when choosing a primary care clinic.

My insurance does not call for deductible but when asked the office staff all said that both fees have to be paid and had the most rude attitude. Only after the insurance company confirmed that only copay was required they still didn't want to refund the deductible. Having to deal with incompetent, rude and mean staff in addition to the stress of it while you're on a visit to the doctor to get better is not the experience anyone should have. She's a brilliant individual and physician, and I thank the heavens for her! She's a truly exceptional physician in several ways. To begin with, her reassuring bedside manner is imbued with the kind of warmth, natural ease and calm confidence you would hope all physicians were made of, but rarely are. She makes it incredibly easy to discuss matters with her, and at no point in the appointment did I detect the doctor-patient power differential. It was a very healthy communicative dynamic where I felt completely at ease, heard, seen, understood, acknowledged and validated. She genuinely wanted to understand my experience and the struggles that ail me. She assumed nothing and listened with great care and attention, asking all the pertinent questions. She didn't miss a beat, not a single one. She's exceptionally bright, insightful and possesses a diagnostic prowess that is uncanny. She took the time to properly assess my current ongoing issues, and as equally and thoroughly went over my medical history, labs and other diagnostics, and delved into my childhood ails. Suffering from a series of complex health issues turned chronic, that none of the many top-notch doctors I had seen prior to her even came close to addressing; she, however, was able to give me the sense of clarity and empowerment I needed. I have been taking my little one to her since 4 months old. We went to her because we did not feel comfortable with vaccinating our baby at such young age. She explained to us her vaccine plan and told us that she would support us no matter what we choose for our baby (vaccinate or not). In addition to prescribing medicine, she also has knowledge about alternative remedies that when used correctly have worked for us. I am also personally seeing her for my Hashimoto's. I have been able to reduce my antibodies significantly since seeing her. I also like that she offers alternative lab testing which allows you to see a more holistic view of your body's status. The lab work that she recommends (but does not force on her patients because of the cost) looks at the levels of various minerals and vitamins that most conventional doctors do not check. However, those are vital to check at least once a year to gain some assurance that your body is in balance and there won't be any issues down the road. CONS: I have noticed that she is not very clear on how some of the remedies should be used. Often times I've had to look them up myself and do some personal research. It was a bit frustrating at the beginning but I was still happy because she gave me options and through my own research, asking her questions via e-mail (she is very responsive), I am able to make my own informed decision on how to treat my baby's illness at the time.

I have been going here since November 2012 to get allergy shots. After two years of allergy shots…read moreand taking a one and a half year break from allergy shots due to school, I decided it was time to get back to it. Dr. Helbing has offices in Annandale and Springfield and they are open on different days. His offices are now closed on Fridays. The Annandale office is open Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays and the Springfield office is open Mondays and Wednesdays. It takes awhile to get to the maintenance dose (where you just come in every 2-3 weeks), but the nurses and Dr. Helbing are all very friendly and knowledgeable. While this office isn't as computerized as my previous allergy doctor (sign in on paper instead of on a computer), they are pretty efficient at getting you in and out of the office. The only downside is that the later office hours (open til 6 pm) for the Annandale location are only on Tuesdays, but you can also come in on Saturdays between 9 am and 12 pm. Be prepared for lots of kids though. Dr. Helbing will do an initial appointment to discuss your allergy symptoms and there will be a follow-up appointment with the dreaded allergy test (lots of pinpricks to determine what you are most allergic to). From there, they can make a suitable serum for you to start allergy shots. It took me about 6 months to get to the maintenance dose, which requires that you go twice a week to get a shot to gradually build up your tolerance. After each shot, you are supposed to wait approximately 30 minutes to make sure you do not have an allergic reaction. At least there are usually plenty of magazines to read.

There was no communication whatsoever about her retiring. I made an appointment and had one appointment with Dr. Ryan for 2 specific reasons, to get blood work for HRT treatment and to discuss removing my uterine cysts. Please note that I stated my reasons when making an appointment by PHONE. As soon as I arrived for my appointment, I was told I'd have to schedule a SEPARATE appointment for a surgical consult. Dr.Ryan explained that I'd have to get bloodwork before prescribing HRT. I received notification that my labwork results were in 1 day later. A few days later, I received a notice in the patient portal that my lab results were in and that the results were normal and that I'd see them at my next visit. NO mention of the fact that I needed a prescription for my HRT. I then sent several messages to Dr. Ryan that same week via the patient portal. NO response and she never called in my prescription. And then the office closed the next week, the week of Labor Day. After constantly calling that week, I was finally able to get a prescription filled by a random person- no idea who filled it. Dr. Ryan NEVER responded to my messages in the portal. There is NO direct phone number to this practice. It is entirely managed by a very poorly managed call center. Hint, don't choose the selection to hold your place in line with a call back. It doesn't WORK. They don't call you back. I will never return to this practice and would not recommend this practice to anyone, especially if you need a direct line to your doctor or even a nurse. Oh, and I suspect all these negative reviews are why they decided to change their name. shameful.
