5 stars for the yummy snow cones but 1 STAR for speed! The owners need to "buck" up a bit and get some more employees in there. They are way understaffed on weekends (usually 1-2 people) and they lose customers as a result. I have passed it up several times when I see a line because I know I'll be waiting for roughly 30 minutes. You can't blame the employees for the owners' poor manegement UPDATE: The owners got back to me and thanked me for my feedback. One time me and my closest friends had nothing to do on a Friday night. So we decided to each buy a 2 liter of purple Shasta and try drinking the whole thing in one sitting. I got about a quarter of the way through with little effort. But the second quarter did me over pretty good. Am I a quitter though? Nope. I put the whole thing down the hatch. My friends did too. This is not a place I would normally go to. There was going to be a Yelp event here that I couldn't come to, so I tried it on my own. I do have fond memories of discovering shaved ice in Hawaii on my first visit 35 years ago. When the first places opened up here, it just didn't translate for me. Context is everything for me with something like this. A little suzuki sj410 4x4 with the top open on the North Shore and a shaved ice in hand on the way to banzai beach doesn't match driving the diagonal in an air conditioned sedan. At some point it's about the product. I picked the wrong set of flavors. My wife picked a good set. There is no question shaved ice is not an awful ice ball of a state fair "snow" cone. It is more sweetness then I like in a drink, but it's lite and flavorful. Plus, if I'm drinking that many calories, most of them better come from alcohol. That said, it was a solid, tasty, product. Bahama Bucks has answered the questions of what is mans purpose on earth. The first time I went, I thought I touched the hand of God. I have never tasted such amazing flavors in my life. The way they shave the ice is on a whole other level. It is finer and fluffier than snow. Much better than Hokulia or sumo or yoku or ono. I was a skeptic at first and now I'm a die hard. We have already filled up four punch cards. Here's the low down. Always get your ice Bahamas Rama mama style. Then eat each bite of ice with the ice cream. It'll change your life forever. Every time I've gone I have tried a new flavor. I still am in awe at how good each one is. So you can't really go wrong. Also the flavors are all really full and rich. It still amazes me every time I go. The skinny flavors aren't worth it. They do something to the shaved ice that makes it clump together. Stay away from that. I got a regular, half white coconut/half blue raspberry with cream and it was amazing!! The ONLY reason I'm giving this place 4/5 stars is because it is a little ridiculously pricey. My regular was 3.79, the smalls are 3.49, and the BABIES are 3.09. I love this place, but today we had the shittiest service in the world. We had to wait 25 minutes for one girl to halfass snow cones for one party of people. My girlfriend and I were hot, and ready for a snow cone, and when my snow cone was finally done after a half hour of arrival, I noticed she did not do at all my order. I asked for a split of flavors , and she gave me one flavor, which I brushed off. I also asked for cream, and had to go ask again for cream, and the young lady with circular glasses and brown hair literally made my snow cone look nastier. I look to the desk and a little kid keeps saying "no ones here" over and over as this joke of an employee hides. We went a couple weeks ago they had one employee and she was extremely overwhelmed to say the least which was so unfair to her. We waited an hour very patiently for our snow cones and when she finally got to the last 6 snow cones (us being at the front) she skipped over us. The two families that came in after us and ordered after us went up and threw a fit about the wait time and they wanted there snow cones. So the employee Makayla I believe was her name decided to give them all of there snow cones ahead of us because they needed to leave. We went up to her and asked what the heck why they received everything ahead of us and she told us it was because they wanted to leave. Explain to me how the heck that works If I would've known that if we threw a big fit and made her job that much harder we will get our stuff quicker might've consider that option. And when I confronted her about it she did not handle it very professional she said so sorry they threw a fit nothing I can do about it do you still want your snow cones. Needless to say I will not be giving my business to them anymore nor will our family and friends. Bahama Bucks is amazing! I've been going to the one in Gilbert ever since I was a kid, and it never disappoints! It's the best shaved ice I've ever tried l. By far. When I lived in California, I would go ALL THE TIME. Seriously, it became a bad addiction. While driving through Provo, I saw the sign and I couldn't stop myself. I'm a sugar addict, I have a problem. But I will deal with that problem another day. Bahama Buck's is the closest thing to heaven on Earth. My personal favorite is getting the Bahama Rama Mama, where you get a scoop of ice cream on the bottom. I mean you can't go wrong with ice cream, and shaved ice is already good. The people who work there are always nice, and the service is great. For the past couple of months though, my shaved ice has had a gross salt-water taste, sometimes more salty than others. I asked the workers about it and they said they use salt in the ice-making process, but it's supposed to be scraped it off. I've even asked them to make sure there was no salt in it, but hasn't helped. I haven't tasted this on other shaved ices before, and to tell you the truth, I don't think I can go there anymore, I just feel repulsed whenever I think of getting a shaved ice there. I hope they get this figured out, because otherwise, it's a fun place to go, especially in the hot summer months. read more

It's a great place for shaved ice. It tastes super good. But the service is lacking. However, I always go through the drive through, so it might be better inside. They have you order through their speaker thing but when you pull up to the window, they never remember what you ordered. I have always had to repeat the whole order at least once, sometimes twice. Which is weird, I'll order at their speaker, pull up to the window and tell them again, and then they'll come back 2 minutes later and ask what my order was again. I don't think they write it down. I have also yet to receive an order that was done 100% correctly. Almost every time they give us the wrong size. Sometimes they give a large when it was supposed to be medium so it works out well but other times they'll give us a size smaller than we ordered. Other times they forget the scoop of ice cream in the bottom. Anyways, it tastes good, but I have yet to receive my order correctly, and I've been 4 times. read more

Today, I came to Bahama Buck's with a couple other people. We felt that our experience could've been better. Our friend ordered a shaved ice with jolly rancher sprinkles and when she got the shaved ice she noticed there wasn't any on top. So she continued to tell the employee that she ordered it and didn't get any. The employee responded with "oh, I put them in the middle" and then continued to give her a sample cup of jolly rancher sprinkles. Furthermore, while she was eating the shaved ice she noticed that there was absolutely no jolly ranchers at all in the middle. Also, another of our friends got her shaved ice and the employee who handed her the shaved ice said "this is a little drippy but oh well" and continued to give it her. Also, that same shaved ice was a Bahama rama mamma and didn't have any Creme which automatically comes with creme. So in conclusion, I would appreciate it if the employees were taught to be more honest and considerate of the products that they are handing out. read more
