Came in after seeing the Dr Pepper sno advertised on facebook. I brought my kids so I ordered for them first and then when it was my time I ordered the Dr.pepper sno but then got terrible news that they don't have it and I asked if they'd be getting it back and they said no. Bahama Bucks had some of the best shaved ice I've ever had. I came late at night on a weekday so it wasn't too crowded. There were OVER 50 flavors to choose from ranging from strawberry to Orange Fanta. The service was friendly and I got a gummy bear flavor shaved ice and how they make the shaved ice is incredible. They literally had a 10 pound block of ice and had my dessert shaved to order. The gummy bears were Albanese and they complimented the gummy bear flavored syrup amazingly. Great shave ice with all kinds of options. The service and people working there are a bonus. Right now they have holiday flavors with fun decorations. The flavors are endless. Example not just root beer, but root beer float which adds a vanilla flavor. And how about Cream Soda to take that a step further. Some of the flavors are different than what you can get at most other places and they will let you sample before they put it on ice. The shave ice is perfectly concocted and so yummy just by itself. The servings are large. You aren't drinking a soda, so it goes a long way. I got a 22ish ounce one and could have easily been shared with someone else. You can also get multiple flavors side by side. So I happened to pass by this place on my way to Publix and wanted to check it out. Since the day was a bit warm and muggy, I did feel in the mood for something cold. The place turn out to be quite friendly and welcoming, although I had the poor guy waiting on me to decide what to order, since it was my first time there. He did offer some suggestions. The menu had so many delicious options it was a bit hard to decide. But in the end, I decided to go for the Wave Bender. The wavebender is a delicious smoothie with fresh bananas, pineapple juice, Rum flavors, and Coconut flavors all blended together. I had no idea this location just opened but boy was I happy they were. I was in the area and wanted a snow ball. Ironically there aren't any places like this in the Bradenton/Sarasota area. Being a New Orleans native, snow balls are a custom on a summer hot day. I couldn't wait to chow down on a Wedding Cake flavored snow ball. It was everything I expected. We love Bahama Bucks so much. The product is outstanding. All of the flavor combinations are amazing. I love that there are a thousand different sizes and combos to choose from. The service is great too... That said, the store is mostly staffed by teenagers with really poor hygiene practices. Every time I've visited, the workers don't wear gloves. Which wouldn't be THAT big deal (if they washed their hands), but all of the drinks require the workers to use freshly cut fruit and scoop ice cream. So they're digging their bare hands around in freshly cut, messy, slimy fruit. I've seen them serve 10 customers in a row, from cashiering to making the drinks, without washing their hands. They wipe them on their jeans, touch their face and hair, etc. Last Friday, one girl had a nasty, mesh bandaid on her thumb. It was clearly worn out. She proceeded to cut a fresh banana with her bare hands, rubbing the bandaid all over it. I actually changed my order to not include banana because I was so grossed out. Thank God another girl made my drink, but that one didn't wear gloves either. At least she didn't have a gross bandaid though. Its honestly even grosser because a lot of these young ladies have these long, decorated acrylic nails that are just germ traps. I don't really get it though. They have gloves everywhere, clean sinks labeled as hand washing sinks. It doesn't make sense and I'm pretty sure it's a major health violation. Otherwise, I would give them 5 stars. If I go back again, I'll probably ask the girls to put on gloves before making my drink. But I really wish management would just enforce it so the customer didn't have to be put in such an awkward position. Hoping management sees this, makes the change and I can come back here to leave a better review - the review that the product actually deserves if the hygiene wasn't so poor! read more

I'm a bit crazy about Bahama Buck's. We have been so many times and have only had great experiences and delicious ice flavors. When I was growing up there was a man that drove a Hawaiian shaved ice truck that lived down the street from me. On 4th of July, he'd open up shop and give everyone free shaved iced to celebrate. Bahama Bucks is the one place that truly took me back to that time as cheesy as it sounds. Their ice is so soft and smooth. Every flavor I've had tastes exactly like you'd think it should. (Banana, Cotton Candy, Cherry, Cherry Coke, Strawberry, Watermelon, Root Beer, Orange soda...) They're my favorite treat. I've only had the regular flavors and never tried the thin ice ones.
