First time coming to this place, I will tell you this the outside is better than the inside. The inside is very cozy. I will say this is the perfect place for a date or family reunions. Wasn't a fan of the jerk chicken pasta, the pasta was very flat did not have a great tastings. I will say this the bahamaritas tasted so good! But the bahama mama wasn't so tasty. Also had a bacon burger with fríes, the fries were fresh and the burger was well done. The music inside wasn't too good in my preference. I can listen to all types of music but the music that was playing the 2 hours that I was inside wasn't it. The waiter that we had was ok, very slow and took too long to come back and check on the table. The outside has great sitting area, and a band was playing. Not sure what days the band plays but next time I come here definitely sitting outside. Did go outside a couple of times and did enjoy it more than inside. Overall will revisit either sit at the bar this time or relax outside. But will definitely come back. read more

Dined in on a week night when I was in New Jersey. The food and service were very good. I have dined in several of this chain restaurant locations and have found them to be consistently good. I had a rum runner cocktail which was well made. For dinner I had one of their signature dishes, jerk chicken pasta. My wife had a half pineapple filled with shrimp, rice, pineapple and veggies in a pineapple glaze. Both entrees were very good. We sat outside as there was live entertainment. It is a large covered seating area. Some other favorite entrees are their ribs, coconut shrimp, paella, and jerk chicken. Plenty of parking available. read more

This place has lots of available indoor and outdoor seating. Reservations weren't needed during afternoon hours but would recommend for evening times. The lighting is dim to allow for some intimacy. The food and drinks orders were fast with a great taste. The Bahama mama was well made along with the coconut mojito. The crab dip was savory and hearty with the perfect kiss of seasoning salt/old bay. There is available Wi-Fi if needed. The portions sizes are large so keep that in mind when ordering. Just tried this place for the first time. We ended up here because Longhorn Steakhouse in Woodbridge had an hour wait. The main dining hall looked like your typical chain restaurant. A little dim, dark wood furniture, etc. The deck area (where we were seated) was much brighter and fit more with the "Island" motiff their name was suggesting. There was even some live music playing (basically it was a man with an electric guitar, good backing tracks, a sound board and a PA system). It was a much enjoyable area and I was glad we were seated there. The service was great and the food was very good. I had the sirloin steak and coconut shrimp. My son had the skirt steak with chimichurri. We both had beers. I had the Aruba Red and he had the Aruba Blonde. Not bad at all. I would definitely go back. It is one of the better chain restaurants out there. read more

This was our first visit to this location. Tommy our server was friendly and professional, however did not check on us often enough. The restaurant's decor is nice and on theme. Now the food and beverage, The cocktail I chose was the One Love it was delicious! The appetizer we had was whole jerk chicken wings, they were hot and flavorful. Went here for the first time in about 10 years so wasn't sure what to expect! There's definitely an island vibe and palm trees as decoration, I liked it! To drink, I got the margarita flight which I definitely recommend. It comes with a regular, coconut, and dragon fruit. I liked them all but coconut was my favorite! Not too sweet. For food, we got empanadas, firecracker shrimp, yuca fries, and the coconut shrimp tacos. The tacos were the best! They come with a sweet mango salsa which is delicious and the shrimp is fried perfectly. I think next time I go I'll go straight for the tacos! Bahama Breeze is a "Caribbean Cuisine" chain midwived at the corporate kitchens of Darden, the eating concept factory in Orlando, Florida -- so you have every reason to expect Olive Garden meets Miami Vice -- and on that scale it succeeds admirably. Although I left my deconstructed white blazer and Paco Rabanne cologne in the Ferrari, the Disneyfied sub-tropical atmosphere is exactly what you'd expect with plenty of bamboo and fake palms to blot out the early Spring chill of Central Jersey. Despite a deep dive into naming rights featuring "firecracker" this and "Bahamian" that, the menu is fairly conventional. I sprang for the Bahamian Chowder (clam chowder) and the seafood linguini which were both competent, tasty and highly salted which is the Darden way of saying they love you. The service was brisk, the meal enjoyed and the fake palms left to fend for themselves. It is exactly what I expected so four stars and one extra for Paco Rabanne. read more

I've been to Bahama Breeze quite a few times since it opened over a decade ago. The food is usually consistent, a nice Caribbean flair and with that said, if I am being honest the only thing that makes me choose BB over a small business with similar food is the drinks! In my opinion the food here is good but small business restaurants just do it better. With that said, it's still typically a good option if you're looking for this type of cuisine. The ambiance on the outside is a colorful sunny building with an island vibe, the inside is like an island hideaway, dim lighting, deep wood and some island decor all around with punchy, yet understated, fabrics. There is nothing to entertain younger visitors except those terrible tablets that cost over $2 to play games on. Honestly these should be available by request only because they are so clunky and of course my child wants to play with it but no I'm not spending $2 when we should just be given a menu he can color on. I think these tablets take away from the dining experience, I want to engage with my child, they have enough exposure to screens as it is, and this tablet just upsets them If you don't allow them to play with it. Luckily I had some coloring books and activities for my son so he was fine, but I can only imagine the meltdowns these must cause some families, resulting in the parents not being able to put in their credit card info fast enough! On my past visit I was a little disappointed with our experience. My husband and son did not receive their drinks until after our appetizer was finished and we were starting on our meals. I didn't receive my drink until HALFWAY through my meal in which I was eating very slowly. This was so disappointing because as I stated, I usually come here for the drinks more than anything else. I am big on beverages so if you are slow on the refill it's a big deal for me. So to not even receive my drink until so late in our visit, I was extremely disappointed. Not only that, we were clearly not being attended to enough because we were the ones who had to wave down our waitress to let her know we never received them. To her credit, she seemed to feel badly about the situation and comped my drink, but only mine, when all three were so late! The place was busy but I've seen busier. Bahama Breeze always has a party going on, I think because they can easily accommodate large groups of people, and it seemed like there were a few parties going on. As much as possible I try to be an understanding customer, so I gave her the benefit of the doubt and thought she must be new and/or completely overwhelmed. The food: When BB first opened I loved the Jerk Chicken Pasta and knew it as their signature dish. I am not sure what has happened over time to this dish but the past few times someone I am with or myself orders it, it seems to be very soggy and watery and honestly a little bland. It's not at all what I remember from the earlier days. I ordered the churrasco steak and it was cooked perfectly. The chimichurri sauce was already on the top of the steak (I do prefer on the side but I was ok with this presentation, too) and tasted deliciously herby and tangy. I appreciate a good chimichurri and hate when there is mint in it, this one did not have detectable mint. The rice and beans on the side was ok, nothing to rave about, and the maduros (sweet plantains) were deliciously caramelized and crisp. We ordered my son chicken fingers and fries and that is exactly what he got. There was nothing special at all about this dish, it was fine. Being in a Caribbean themed restaurant it would be cool to have a special sweet and tangy dipping sauce or something to differentiate this standard kids meal into something more memorable. Service was excellent, no complaints there at all. He was extremely attentive, as the was entire staff. I literally could ask or expect more from the staff. Jerked wings: I liked them, I could do without the sauce personally speaking. But ultimately they had great flavor, spice and were nice and crispy. Tostones: In general I'm not a fan of tostones but these were on another level with the chicken and other toppings that adorned them. Extremely flavorful, moist and just flat out delicious. Beef empanadas: AMAZE BALLS!! Very good and the sweet mango chutney (I think/ hope that's what it's called) that they gave on the side was SLIZZAPPIN on many levels. I had to ask for extra to go. Yes it was that good. Also the inside of the empanadas might be the most moist empanadas I've encountered, they didn't need the mango sauce, but it was still a nice touch. Now for the entrees: The steak was pretty good, cooked just right and the churrasco wasn't a fave of mine but the wife liked it. The rice was on point, and the plantains were perfectly ripe and sweet, I could've ate 30 of those alone. The beans weren't bad either. Now.. as for the jerked chicken pasta, this was indeed the weakest link. I only say this because I couldn't taste the jerk, spice or chicken in general for that matter. Yes there was indeed chicken in the dish, a good amount at that, but it just had no flavor. Fortunately I am a fan of Alfredo sauce and that probably would be a better title for this dish. The asparagus were good, for crunch in this sea of sauce, but that didn't have much flavor either. However the mushrooms did have some flavor and should probably be considered the star of this failed attempt at Rasta pasta. Nonetheless... this was a great experience, we went during lunch time so it was very quiet and everything came out super fast. Stopped here with a work colleague on our way back from a business trip. I had never tried a Bahama Breeze restaurant so this was a nice opportunity to try a new chain restaurant. We were seated quickly and our server was excellent. We shared a coconut shrimp appetizer and it was good. Overall a small portion when being shared, but nice to be able to taste a dish I saw on at least 50% of the tables. $12 for 6 smaller butterflied shrimp with a zesty dip and a thin slice of pineapple as an edible garnish. We both chose the same lunch special. The beef empanadas. We both also chose a cup of Bahamian seafood chowder. The seafood chowder was good, but almost tasted more of cheese than of seafood. There was very little seafood, bit it was a nice soup. The empanadas were amazing. Incredibly flavorful, flaky crust, savory filling, and two dips (one sour-cream-based and one pineapple). Both definitely added to the empanadas. But the empanadas were excellent even without the dips. I'd go back to this establishment even if just for the empanadas. So, nice environment, quick service, good food, and spotless bathrooms. What's not to like? read more

Haven't been here in years and that was only once. Seated quickly, took waitress a while to come over but took our drink order and appetizer. I had regular lemonade, BF had strawberry, both were overly sweet. Crab dip appetizer was good, although too many chips for the dip. I had Mahi tacos and yellow rice with black beans, too much cabbage in tacos, I took most out. BF had the chicken jerk pasta, which was good. Everything was fine and until I used the restroom and one of the employees walked out without washing her hands. I was so disgusted. I spoke to the manager who looked horrified and apologetic. Our bill was compensated, which I was surprised and appreciated but a grown person should know to wash their hands after using the restroom. She wasn't a server and possibly worked in the kitchen so my only hope is that she washed her hands when she went in there to work. read more

One time one of the ladies that worked the bar told me the bar was closed in a needlessly rude manner but I haven't seen her there since. First time dining here... not that we haven't tried before but they were always too busy, so on this particular Saturday night I made a reservation for 8:30 on Open Table. When we arrived there were plenty of open tables and no wait... I'm guessing it had something to do with the snow storm we were supposed to have but turned into rain instead... I had the most delicious Virgin Bahamarita which is a frozen margarita drink with kiwi, strawberry, and mango ices garnished with fruit... really tasty We skipped the appetizers tonight because we had plans later and didn't want to overdo it... so straight to the entrees... I had the coconut shrimp tacos with fries. The tacos were delicious, crispy coconut shrimp inside a soft flour tortilla topped with a tomato salsa, sriracha aioli, and cabbage-jicama slaw. They were really good and a pretty big portion so I ended up with 1 to go home. Fries were golden crispy and well seasoned too. The other entree was the skirt steak churrasco topped with chimichurri, served with yellow rice, black beans, and sweet plantains. That entree was very good as well and no leftovers on that one...lol No desserts tonight and I also had an online offer for $10 off a $40 dinner purchase for signing up for their e-club so our check was only $33 and change before tip... what a bargain! The Plantain Bowl is flavorful!!! A mixture of rice, beef, sweeeeeet plantains, beans and cheese. The bit was a bit salty, but everything all together was just right. Had a island style old fashion and that was great as well. They make it with a coconut water ice cube and a slice of pineapple that nicely complements the regular old fashion. All in all it's a decent lunch with a commercial Caribbean vibe. Kinda like a carnival cruise in a restaurant. read more

So we know authentic Caribbean style food, but for what it's worth, they do an excellent job at the Woodbridge location. A friend of mine and I wanted to meet up here for dinner so I made reservations via online which was suggested for outdoor seating. When we arrived I checked in and the hostess told us to wait for the table to be ready. We waited about 20 mins or so and were seated. We sat in an area that was pretty spaced apart which was good. Our server Alejandro came over and he was so great. He was attentive and so nice. I ordered a couple drinks I did not like and he was great about taking it back and giving me what I liked. I ended up going with the pinot nior and the braised oxtail and my friend had seafood paella and a margarita. When the food came my oxtail was salty but everything else wasn't bad. My friend said her food was just ok but she enjoyed her drink. The server, Alejandro, is the main reason I am give 4 stars. read more

I think this was my second time coming here but I had never really had the whole meal before. We had a gift card to use so we went all out with ordering apps. The chicken sliders with plantains were my favorite! They were cooked perfectly and very crispy. For my drink I had the classic mojito, which was on the sweet side for me, as I think most of their drinks would be from looking at all the pictures. We also had the coconut shrimp which was excellent and came with a delicious dipping sauce. For my entree I had the salmon special. I was impressed by how big the portions were and had to take home half of my meal since all the apps had really filled me up. The salmon wasn't spectacular and it came with rice, asparagus, and avocado. The sauce was very good but I wish there had been more of it. I would recommend making a reservation on the weekend. Not sure how busy it gets during the week but on the Saturday we went we arrived at 6pm and had to wait an hour for a table for 4! read more

So with this was by far the worst experience I've ever had at the establishment. Took my son for his birthday and mentioned it was my son's birthday. The server acknowledged and said happy birthday. I asked if they would please sing Happy Birthday he said he would ask the performer who was live singing. Sadly not an ounce of sympathy or effort went into providing the request. I contacted the manager and found out it's in their policy not to sing Happy Birthday to their customers, it's up to the individual server if they do want to sing they can. However if it is the customer birthday they will offer a free dessert. My 8 year old wasn't offered anything. So if you plan on doing a celebration here I'd strongly recommend another venue. As I was left waiting even for a paper copy of my check as I paid in cash. My only complaint is if you don't want to work as a server or having a bad day or even offf day least you can do is request a day working another role. read more

Ehhh it's not as bad as Kona Grill down the street but if I had to pick between Bahama Breeze or Olive Garden next door, I would pick Olive Garden. The service at Bahama Breeze has been excellent the two times I've been and the place looks decent inside. However, the food just isn't good. It's a chain restaurant and if you like chain restaurants then go here you will love it. If you don't like chain restaurants then stay far away. Obviously, I am the latter. read more
