This have definitely become my favorite DR restaurant in the Amboy area. Everytime I've been there the food hasn't disappointed me. I have post a lot of pics from them because I feel like everyone needs to see it and give them a try. I think their prices are affordable and the servings are good. The staff is very friendly, most are Spanish speaking but some are bilingual. My favorite non alcoholic drink is the morir sonando its a very interesting combo with milk and orange juice but its so good. All their foods are freshly made and taste amazing! I love their pernil aka pork shoulder, chicken, and all the meats they serve. Also they have their delicious DR breakfast its definitely what you need to start your day! just now New I went in here didn't like the way the food looked and no one even asked or approached me if I needed help. As I was walking out my car was getting towed. Went back in and asked what was going on and they said they are towing my car because I didn't get food. Paid $250 to get my car back. Pretty sure this restaurant is running a scam with the tow company and they are both in cahoots. Other people have had this happen to them. DO NOT go here!!!! Not worth the headache read more

My family placed a large order with El Meson for a family party, expecting the food to be delivered on time as planned. The party was about to start, and the food was nowhere to be found. When we called to check on the order, we were stunned to hear that they had completely forgotten to make it. No notice. No heads-up. Just a careless "sorry." Their response was beyond unprofessional--they acted like it wasn't a big deal and offered to "try" to make the food and get it to us two hours after the party had already started. At that point, the damage was done. The woman planning the party was left to find another restaurant who could cater food for 40 guests in that short time period, and the entire flow of the event was thrown off because of their negligence. Side note: a huge thank you to Mama Lena's and Torres Cafe for coming through with the food in less than 30 min! This wasn't a small oversight--it was a total failure in communication, planning, and customer service. If you're thinking of trusting El Meson with your event or special occasion, don't. They clearly don't take their commitments seriously and show zero accountability when they mess up. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere that values its customers. read more

The reason I came and then one star is because. The food doesn't taste that good and they're too expensive let me explain You buy racing chicken put in one container. You get fried bananas yuca it said put it in the same container they put in a different container. They charge for the fried bananas in yuca and they charge you for the containers that put it in. So it gets too damn expensive. The food doesn't taste that good too expensive and never wastes my time going there again. read more

This place is terrible, read this full review if you're considering eating here... The food is overpriced and served individually by weight, instead of mixed as a combo. The food is old and dry. The workers are rude and don't care. There's indoor seating and the dining room is not dirty, but just don't waste your time. !Most importantly - food safety! The food is left out overnight on the steam table. It should be disposed of every night and fresh food should be made the next day. Not only is the food going to be hard and dry the next day, but who knows what bugs are having their dinner after close and how many new ecosystems of bacteria is growing on the cold food for hours. Excellent food for a great price with friendly staff. The place is clean and cozy. Had to wait for the mangú but worth the wait knowing it's freshly prepared. Excellent place for brunch! Try their Dominican Breakfast. They also have fresh fruit juices and good coffee. read more

Great place to go if you are in a rush and want to pick up quick food. If you choose to stay, the servers will come to your table. The place is very small and only has a few tables. July 16, 2022 I thought this was a good restaurant. Sometimes I stopped by when I don't feel like cooking. I went there on Saturday and ordered 3 pieces of whiting fish, hard as a rock, and couldn't even tell if it was fish. It was overcooked. I also ordered a plater of pig feet with rice and beans there were 6 strings of black hair inside my plate. It cost me $35.00 What a disappointment, when it looked, good. I said, first so it was just one, and they kept coming. The restaurant must cover their hair. This is a restaurant! Keep the food safe! read more

Took a group of clients here for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. I went with the bacalao stew which came with a huge serving of rice, plenty of fish, potatoes and peppers in a very rich and delicious red sauce. The rice was very flavorful and had olives and other seasoning mixed in. They also sent over some fried plantains and a garlic sauce on the side. The plantains were crispy and very tasty and the garlic sauce was warm and loaded with garlic flavor. I also ordered a capucino-style coffee drink after lunch which was also very good. This is a great place for a quick lunch, or take out. It's not the most glamours but it is truly authentic Dominican food. The portion size is huge, two people can eat from one plate. Came here for lunch as I was trying to find a new place for lunch. Not bad, I must say. I ordered the oxtail and arroz con gondules. For $8 I got a Styrofoam container of mainly rice and 3 pieces of ox tail. The food was good. Nothing particularly memorable. Very middle of the road place. How this place has only 3 stars is BEYOND me. Best place to get a quick lunch to go in town or sit in and eat. I always leave here happy and full or happy and ready to eat my meal at work. Ladies at the counter are always attentive and kind. Food is usually always on point. This is one of my favorite Latin restaurants. The prices are very reasonable and the food is very authentic, to my taste. One thing to be aware of is that there isn't much English spoken here so if you don't speak enough Spanish to get by, you may find it difficult to enjoy your time. The Combo #3 is the favorite of my family, however, as a vegetarian, I enjoy the Mofongo con queso. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for quick, low-cost Latin food. read more

Now this is due to there lack of service and due to not getting my breakfast in 35 min. Now here is the funny part it's all precooked so what the hell! After 22min for coffee she explains that the fried egg part that takes long to fry ah ok that explains the dead fish in the freezer personality. Four women working like horses so it seems as nothing gets done. unless your friend works there then you order and the food comes out even if they got there after you. So at the end don't bother as you will be disappointed. By the way if you pass by you might still see our plate on the counter waiting for the specially fried egg! read more
