I wish I could say I like this place, I really do. I have had great experiences with the Doctors…read morebut the front staff need to be trained to stay professional at work. I've been coming here since my daughter was 1 who is now 4 and I have even came with my second. But my visits are coming to an end because I have seen the front staff eat snacks in the front office and talk about conversations that are not work related at all, a dental assistant talk about her night after work with another dental assistant while cleaning my daughter's teeth, and waiting in the office to schedule another 6 month cleaning while the front staff call back other patients to confirm their appointments. I am not one to write a bad review about offices but this one I am very disappointed in.

Never going back to this dentist office, again!…read more Lots of cons, little to no pros.. The waiting area is huge, lots of seats for patients and their families. There's a play area for the kiddos - and that's one of the only neat things about this place. The dental hygienist was decent. She did come off as a bit pushy IMO. The "can you do this, can you do that" .. no manners! Really!? The dentist was rushing and her hygienist did NOT clean any of the teeth! Too much poking around in the mouth and talk about random things that made NO sense. Going to the dentist makes people anxious and they like having their person with them. Denying them (the patient) that right when they're at the dentist for a cleaning is just wrong IMO. Anxiety is real and it can be crippling. The fear is hard to describe- other than I cried. It's not funny and I heard employees laughing! I'm very disappointed and frustrated. You need this done, you need that done.. Wait, what? I'm sorry I feel you're pushing unnecessary dental work to be done. It's hard for me to trust a dentist these days, especially since I've had family members get dental work done that was 100% unnecessary! Their teeth are messed up and they're embarrassed to smile. That's hurtful and makes me infuriated! No, I will not allow a dentist that I don't even know to do all this work on my teeth- especially since I know it's NOT needed. Apple Valley Dental & Braces - I gave you the benefit of the doubt, and you chose to take advantage of someone who you barely know. You will NEVER see me walk into ANY of your offices AGAIN. I cannot trust you whatsoever!

For whatever…read morereason the past few years it's been really hard for me to get an appointment with him specifically. Because I really needed an appointment, I agreed to see Dr. Rhoten. Dr. Rhoten is fine for regular dental business, but I would advise against using him for a occlusal guard. I had regular jaw pain before, but I was in life altering chronic pain for months while trying out the guard and getting adjustments. Even though I shelled out hundreds on the piece I had to start using my old retainer piece just to function. He's a fine person and regular Dr., but please use caution in regard to jaw issues. This experience was very upsetting and I will not be returning because of it.

I usually just fall asleep. The hygenist that I get rotates, so I don't have much to say there other than everyone I've seen has been good. I usually see Dr. Han, who I'm definitely a fan of. The dude plays practical jokes on the other staff members (which can make your appointment more entertaining than you were expecting it to be). I've been through a root canal with them, and I think they were pretty good about it, though I don't have any other experience to compare it with. It took 4 hours (Dr. Han's record), and it wasn't awful. They're also willing to work the system for you, so that's pretty sweet.

Going to the dentist can be a source of anxiety on its own to begin with, so having rude staff when we arrived was a no go for our family. And it wasn't just our family that was treated this way, we witnessed the poor treatment of just about every other family that was checking in or out, as if those employees hate their jobs. We now go across the street to Smile Surfers and have enjoyed every single one of our visits. ALL staff have been kind, caring and friendly, exactly as a children's dental office should be!

The first 2 visits I had for my daughter were both rush jobs where the dentist came in, brushed some fluoride on her teeth, told us everything looked good and sent us on our way. The 3rd and most recent visit, they did x-rays which my daughter turned up with 5 cavities. The dentist that came in that day said she was giving us a referral to get the work done under anesthesia because she thought it was best and least traumatizing for her. I was upset and cried at the visit because I felt bad that my daughter had cavities but also was horrified at the thought of putting my daughter under for dental work. There was no option given. I felt like that was the only choice I had and that they didn't want to do the work on her teeth whatsoever. I thought they gave rush jobs the first two appointments and felt the same way at the most recent visit. I never once left with a warm and fuzzy feeling about them. So, obviously I called a different dentist office, Clearwater Dental for a second opinion. I was about to pay out of pocket for them to do work rather than use my state (free) insurance here!!!! My daughter just got her first cavity filled and let me tell you, she wasn't traumatized at ALL. Their staff was ALL AROUND better with kids than Dentistry for Kids who literally specialize in KIDS! I wish I would have read the reviews for this place before I ever went here because it seems they already have a track record of being pretty bad. Considering they're a "kids" dentist office you would think that they'd spend some time making the kids feel comfortable rather than rushing through things, but quite honestly they suck! I will say that their front desk ladies are great aside from the fact that when I put in a form to request my daughter's teeth x-rays to be sent over to Dentistry for Kids, they were contacted multiple times by the dental office as well as myself and they never sent them over which I feel is really unprofessional and petty. That actually pissed me off. But I'm cutting my losses and will never return and will encourage any parent friends of mine to NOT come here.
