Cash-only, no-frills type of spot. It gets super packed in the mornings, so come with caution if you're hoping to snag a seat. The bagel I got was perfectly chewy and soft, and my gf's omelette was really good. The potatoes were a little bland and could've used a sprinkle of my favorite duo, salt and pepper.

Despite its busyness during the day, Bagels Etc. works like a well oiled machine with its efficiency to get customers their food quickly. I just ordered a generic sausage, egg and cheese sandwich with an orange juice, paid $8 flat (important to note that it is cash only), and got my food within just a couple minutes. It was a solid breakfast on the go and great value for the price.

#1. Scrambled Egg Bagel with Meat

Absolutely loved this place. If i could take it home to LA in my pocket I would. Two of us all got the Scrambled Egg Bagel Sandwich with Sausage and one got it with Bacon. Hands down the sausage is better, go with that. Two were on Everything Bagel and one was with Wheat Everything Bagel. Highly recommend the wheat everything bagel instead. It is somehow more flavorful and the chew of the bagel goes very well with the sandwich fillings. This combo also comes with a coffee or orange juice. You have a choice of like 5 different types of coffees, self serve and as far as I know you can also refill if you'd like. Cash only, mostly carry out establishment. Crowded on Sundays But service is very quick. You barely have to wait. Seating is limited but most people are there to pick up sandwiches and coffee to go anyway.

Honestly one of the best bagels I've had in DC thus far! Quick and chaotic service, loved it.

Bagels Etc. is a hidden gem in Dupont Circle. This no-frills spot might be the closest thing to a slightly grungy NYC bagel shop you'll find in DC (and that's how you know it's good). The bagels are excellent--fresh, with a crisp exterior and chewy interior. The line can get long, but don't let that deter you--it moves fast. Important to note: it's CASH ONLY, though there's an ATM inside. Go for a classic BEC, or try my favorite: the Cucumber Cooler with scallion cream cheese, cucumber, and sprouts.

In and out in a jiffy. Food was quick to be handed over the counter Dozen variety of bagels. Several coffees to choose from. Lunches served also. They open at 6 am. They know their regular customers.

The Awesome - Good prices, many menu choices, excellent coffee, great bagels! The Challenging - Long lines, limited seating, tiny space, order inaccuracies, some questionable hygiene practices. Tips - Checkout the menu before you go, tons of choices and they are inpatient.

By far the best bagel you will find in the district. Perfect fluffiness, airiness, and crispness to the outside. Also, incredibly priced! I've been here a few times now and the bagels have stayed consistent, which is hard to find. Though the line can get quite long, the service is VERY quick. Definitely the closest thing we have to a NYC bagel. Something I recently discovered is that they have additional seating in the back, but beware the place can feel quite tiny with the amount of people crammed into it to order. I highly suggest knowing what you want to order prior to stepping up to the counter -- will help the whole process go so much smoother. Lastly, remember it's cash only!!

Finding a cheap eat in DC is no easy thing. I love a good breakfast bagel but dislike some bagel shop prices. Bagels Etc though is an exception to the expensive DC food. Got two bagels, one with egg cheese and meat and the other with cream cheese, for a total under 10 dollars. Both were very good! Had a good amount of egg to bacon ratio and the bagels are really delicious. Bagels are a decent size too- if you're STARVING you may need to order more than one but for a midday meal this hit the spot. It can get busy but bagels still come out pretty fast and the lady working at the register was super nice. IMPORTANT: this is cash only.

I'm from New York and these bagels taste just right to me. The service is a bit brusque, but that's part of the charm.

Terrible bagel, not as good as a grocery store bagel. Undercooked, round bread. Very disappointing

So's Your Mom - Bagel with lox spread- so good!

Your in the great neighborhood of Adams Morgan. You're outside doing some repairs on a condo when you casually drop to your client that's you're heading to lunch, probably Andy's or something. Then the clouds part (metaphorically) and this woman, this angel on Earth suggests you actually try So's Your Mom. She raves about it. It all makes sense to you. Andy's has got enough money. Those stores are popping up like wildfire to hell with that. I'm going to So's Your Mom. It's my kind of place too. Nondescript, mom and pop type of place. Been there for decades. No flashy gimmicks just reliable sandwiches and apparently coffee based on their decor (But I'm here for lunch!). The guy at the counter is friendly, he's a talker, he's got recommendations. I don't need them but I ask for all of em Hit me pal! I ignore all of them and get a turkey avocado BLT situation. FANTASTIC. And somehow the bag of indie potato chips is criminally underpriced. He doesn't know they're charging like $3.50 a pop for these down at Adams, Morgan, Ace and other places around the city. Maybe they're going to know it when they read this review and if prices go up I'm sorry but also these greedy DC landlords are wrenching rent prices everywhere and So's your mom has to pay the bills! Anyway it's worth every penny and I can't wait to go back. Wish I lived in AdMo

So's Your Mom is a hole in the wall breakfast and bagel spot in Adams Morgan. My husband and I…read morestumbled upon it when we were walking back from Because Science toward our hotel. The signs outside advertising bagels got our attention. This establishment is cash only, so bring cash or hit the ATM before you come. The prices are incredibly reasonable, though, and probably less overhead/swipe fees. The whitefish and lox spread bagel was wonderful for only $5. It is not a huge bagel but the perfect size for breakfast. Personally, I'd rather not have any leftovers since I'm traveling and our room didn't have a mini-fridge or microwave anyway. You wait for your food for awhile, but we found some nice locals to chat with and they recommended a few other spots to us. There's no seating so you must take your food to go. It's too bad we found this spot on our last day in DC, but it will be our go-to if we stay at the Washington Hilton again.
