Our Airbnb was right across the street and he highly recommended this place to us. Such a welcoming feel when you walk in on a rainy day. We enjoyed some tasty coffee and plenty of options for bagels and pretty much providing options for all dietary needs! The gluten free bagel was the best I have ever had. There was enough seating for plenty of people, and the bathrooms were super clean! I could have sat here for hours! They were also very understanding that we didn't speak the language, and were very helpful!

Feeling a bit hungry and in need of a good lunch we quickly stumbled inside the Bagles and Beans store near my home. Now as a person who spent years living in London upon hearing the word BEANS I quickly tought of beans as having a savory-sweet flavor and a brownish or reddish tinted white mixed in tasty tomatoes. It was a sunny day and the outside terras was a bit busy so we went to look for a seat inside. The interior looks super cozy with comfortable couches against the wall. The atmosphere does attract a certain kind of crowd, many regulars and students. We took a corner seat on the wall couch and looked at the menu. You can choose between a wide variety of bagles and toppings depending on what your feeling you can even choose for non bagle options. It's here where my tomatoe beans dream was shattered. The beans in Bagels and Beans stand for coffee beans! We ordered the Tuna Melt with a Latte, Smoked Chicken and fresh strawberry juice. The service was quick and we got our order served in just a few minutes! The bagles were warm and crispy and they looked fantastic! The ingredients looked fresh and tasty. I was a bit disappointed with the amount of chedar cheese used for the tuna melt as there was hardly any cheese on there, a tuna melt with just a slice of cheese? The smoked chicken bagle was alright but nothing special, the chicken was not smoky at all. We asked for a some mayonais and we got a small serving with hardly enough mayo for 1 person. I really enjoyed the Latte it was abselutly delicious and the strawberry juice had a nice fresh taste to it. The place is right across a small canal so perfect view when chilling on the outside terrace. Trams stops a few feet away and if your with a car than beware of the outrages 4 euros per hour parking rate! The atmosphere in my opinion is better than the food. I would probably bring my book next time and just lounge there with a tasty cup of coffee.

Breakfast plate with cream cheeses and jams, salmon, cheese and a bagel! Comes with cup of coffee and fresh squeezed juice

This little place was great! Staff was incredibly friendly and effective and the atmosphere was very cozy. I ordered a smoked chicken salad with avacado and pine nuts that was to die for! And my parents split a breakfast plate. I'd love to come here again!

These guys are good in many things. One of them is with people. Every BB I get in, I'm always welcomed with a smile and attentive service. They make sure you get what you want and the options you also would like to have. With their staple menu they are also explorers with new things in it sometimes, like the weed burger. That initiative is gone now, but I'm sure more will follow. In this particular BB no matter empty or full they always wear a smile. Oh and yes this is another review for working spots. Great place with a lot of natural light (please refer to picture) and a great menu offer for any time of the day. I've been here during weekends and it gets super busy around lunch time so not good for working. I think they are also good for bringing your pet friend but I haven't got one so I can't say from experience.

Smoked chicken bagel sandwich and salmon bagel sandwich. Both were excellent!

As tourists trying to stay off the beaten path a bit, we found B&B super close to our apartment rental. The cafe is lovely - indoor and outdoor seating are both great, sunny and welcoming. We've been there for breakfast two days in a row now and we have zero complaints. The staff is hospitable, service is timely, and the food is excellent. B&B on De Clercq makes you forget it's part of a chain, and I will miss it when I return home to the States!

Cute place, not great for food , but good coffee

Good coffee, but poor food. The bagels were hard and not very tasty. Took over 25 min for our food to be made, very slow and not to tasty.

Omelet bagel with bacon & cheese on an everything bagel.

Great place for a quick breakfast! Right down the street from the apartment we were staying in during our visit. The people were very friendly and were able to speak english to us, which we appreciated. They took time to explain the menu. Service was very fast and we enjoyed the food and drinks!

Ok place, though service could be better. They are not very friendly when you go for takeout.

Ever been on a trip and you love a place so much that you JUST have to keep coming back to it over…read moreand over again? Well, that was us with Koffie Academie. We were here three times during our stay in Amsterdam, and I think I found my brand new favorite coffee shop in the city, and I was really sad that I had to leave it behind when our vacation was over. The most convenient part is that it was within walking distance of our hotel and right across from the train station. To keep a piece of Koffie Academie with me back at home in the States, I chose to buy a bag of their Rwanda-style coffee beans. On our first visit, I just had their cappuccino alone since it was later in the afternoon and I had already had lunch, but during the second and third visit, I tried their croissants. Amsterdam, hands down, has the BEST coffee ever. I think way better than the coffee in other European countries we've visited during our trip so far. I had to put sugar in my cappuccino during every visit to make it sweeter (sugar cubes and sugar packets are available). This was my parents' second time in Amsterdam and they stuck with their mochas, which they had before. Both the croissants I had were flaky on the outside and buttery on the inside. My mom had their coconut square treat which, I believe, had either strawberries or raspberries inside with a solid chocolate topping. While I didn't get the chance to try it, I thought that it looked delicious! I think I want to try this during my next trip to Amsterdam. Koffie Academie, you have not been forgotten in my memory. Can't wait to see you again upon my return to Amsterdam in the near future!

What a brilliant cortado!…read more I arrived in town before I could check in so I settled here to answer some emails while I wait. What a cozy cafe with brilliant coffee. My cortado was excellent and while I didn't purchase any the baked sweets looked very appetizing. I came back 2 more times during my stay in Amsterdam which is very unlike me because I like to try many cafes when I travel. Fyi - the espresso is quite strong for my taste so if that is something you're sensitive to then adjust your order.
