34th Bagels & More was one of our favorite bagel spots during our time in Midtown Manhattan. While in New York we made it a point to have bagels every day, and this place definitely delivered that classic NYC bagel experience. Located right in Midtown, it's a great quick stop whether you're heading out for the day or grabbing breakfast before exploring the city. The shop had a nice local neighborhood feel with a huge selection of fresh bagels, spreads, breakfast options, sandwiches, and coffee. I went with the onion bagel with jalapeño cream cheese, and it was perfect. The bagel was fresh, soft on the inside with a nice chewy texture, and the onion flavor really stood out. The jalapeño cream cheese added just the right amount of spice and creaminess without overpowering the bagel. One thing you immediately notice is how fresh everything tastes. The portions were generous, the staff was friendly, and the atmosphere had that busy New York breakfast vibe that makes the experience even better. Softest bagel I've ever had. We tried the plain bagel, can't wait to try the other flavors.

This was a very disappointing experience. I purposely walked the 3 mins outside of the station while waiting to catch a train because of the extremely poor reviews for H and H Bagels inside Moynihan Train Hall, but I can't imagine them being any worse. I do think there's potential for these bagels but my egg bagel was very much over-baked. It should not have been sold in this state. Look at the top of that bagel! There was also far too little cream cheese for the size of the bagel. My wife had an everything bagel. I had a taste and it was a bit better than mine but too little cream cheese and we both are of the mind that the cream cheese may be store bought. All around a huge disappointment. I don't know if it was an off day or something, but the reviews are not adding up with my experience at all and I guess next time I'll just suck it up and give H and H a try. read more

Today was a Five Star experience. Bagels and More 34th Street is the best of their Manhattan locations. I knew I loved their bagels at my location. I didn't like the customer service on the Upper East Side. This location is friendly, efficient and wears their masks. Today I purchased my favorite plump pumpernickel bagel to go. Their bagels are good. Don't expect a seat here unless you are early in the morning. It's popular with the hard hats and they were using all the seats. My son and I came in to grab a few bagels to go. It was super easy to order and the employees were all friendly. This bagel place is next to the hotel I was staying in. When we were here with labor day the line was super long so I had to check out the reviews on Yelp. After dinner debate I decided to preorder a ton of bagels to take back home and also get our lunch for our last day here. I ordered on line for next day pick up. It wasnt super clear how to pick up the food the next day so I was glad it wasn't so busy so it was easier to get in. Bagels & More has a good selection of bagels, rolls, and sandwiches. Breakfast sandwiches are made order to go and they get your order right 95% of the time which is great for this part of town. Their lox is no good, often too salty and too slimy. Bagels are made in house which is nice. If you're lucky, you get a fresh batch where they're fluffy and warm. The friendliness of the staff is hit or miss. I guess it depends on the weather. Most of the time they're attentive and helpful. But sometimes it feels like you have to wave flags to get their attention. As a paying customer, I find this unacceptable and is where I draw the line. Once or twice is ok (I guess) but it's happened enough where it's affecting my review. Bagels & More is also not covid-19 compliant which shocked me. Their sign clearly indicates "Mask required to enter" yet this rule is not enforced. There was a customer who was coughing...yes that's right, COUGHING and with no mask. He was allowed to hangout there which blew my mind! I got a sneak peek at the cooks in the back and again...maskless. Got my sandwich, threw it out in office. Appears to be mainly bagels, but also serves up sandwiches, salads, and more. As well as a nice refrigerated beverage collection. I got a toasted sesame bagel with cream cheese. Bagel was very airy and fluffy for a NY style bagel, but still pretty good. Nicely toasted, and delicious cream cheese. Staff was very friendly. I want to really like this bagel spot, but I cannot. It was a nice haven when they opened a few years back, adding a new option that was a slight tick above the corner bodega. And their bagels usually are slightly better than average and they have a nice variety of bagels, cream cheeses, and other options for your sandwich. The problem is that you have a less than 50% chance of getting the correct sandwich order. Having been in here over a dozen times, anytime your order is anything more than bagel & cream cheese, you have a good chance of it somehow being wrong. Or the behind the griddle staff forgetting to make your order until you you give the counter staff a friendly reminder. read more
