Well, I have a chip on my shoulder about small towns, apparently. I am this far north for a week and needed a place to work. I expected to find nothing, no Starbux even, maybe just a diner where they don't really have people cracking open laptops and staying all day. I certainly did not expect organic coffee. But, here I am, having hit gold on my first try: 1. Bottomless coffee for $3, plus it's organic and this mug is so comfortable 2. Lots of tables for working, room to spread out 3. Excellent veggie burger with fixings, house-made hummus 4. Beer! Beer with lunch! 5. House-made cream cheese that is DELISH and has, well, stuff you would expect in cream cheese and no crap. Thank you, universe. read more

A really great place in lovely downtown Beloit! We stopped here after an appointment in town for a little sweet treat and were not disappointed at all. My wife and I are newly onto a gluten-free diet, and Bagels & More had a good selection of things for us to try. They've got gluten-free breads and lunch items for people to order and they look really good. Because we already had lunch, we got dessert here. I got the Chocolate Chip Coconut Scone and my wife had the Brownie . . . they both were nothing short of amazing! The only thing keeping me from giving them 5 stars is that we haven't ordered anything from the lunch menu. Will certainly come back again the next time we're in town to check out their other items! read more

Ordered a bacon egg and cheese bagel and potatoes they didn't even toast the bagel. I thought that was a given but maybe not. Potatoes were not cooked properly almost like they just rushed to get the order out instead of making it properly. Food was ok a little over priced but not to bad for being downtown. Bakery items pretty good. Wouldn't make a special trip here but if I was invited to eat here I would. read more

Cool place, nice atmosphere and a simple but delicious menu of breakfast oriented items for a cheap price. I had the meat breakfast burrito. Loved it. The coffee was good too. And the people who worked there were friendly as well. They also had pastries, but I didn't have one. read more

Bagels and More - Big, bright windows and warm colors with lots of searing. Art for sale on the walls. - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Beloit, Wisconsin

Very pretentious for basic foods. Not authentic, bagels are from New York and none of the employees including the owner doesn't know what the hell they are doing. read more

Went there this morning intending to get a fresh bagel stick and some yummy cream cheese as a morning treat. First of all, I was there at 7 a.m. I stood alone at the counter for a few minutes waiting for someone to come out if the back and wait on me. Finally, I told her what I wanted. She bagged me up and out the door I went. The bagel sti k was dry and hard, like they had been sitting in the bin since yesterday morning not this morning, and the plain cream cheese was some type of whipped version that could barely taste the flavor. I have never been impressed with their overpriced menu items or dining atmosphere, but I thought they could handle a bagel stuck and cream cheese to go. I was wrong. Wont bother to go there again read more

Loved it! Fantastic bagels, great prices on everything (including take-home beers), all located in a nice, old building with some character. I had a huge burrito, a great value. My ONLY comment there was that it could use a little spice/seasoning boost. But then again, I am a transplant from the Southwest US, and am used to more of a mexican interpretation. Asiago bagel was terrific. read more

I'm from out of town and saw a lot of good reviews for this place so decided to try it out. The set up for ordering really threw me off since I wasn't from here, and so I asked for help from one of the waitresses who was happy and ready to help but another worker yelled at her to stop talking to people, which I was a bit taken aback by...I got a veggie breakfast burrito. It was okay, nothing special but could be that I just didn't choose one of the better things on the menu. I was originally going in to get coffee, too, but like I said the set up was really weird and by the time you get to the register to pay there's the coffee menu. Not a lot of time to look and order by that point. The whole atmosphere felt very stressful and chaotic despite there being very few customers in there, half of which had already been helped. Probably wouldn't go again to be honest. The artwork was nice and pretty but not redeeming enough. read more

This place is a poor excuse for a bagel shop! I'm not exactly sure where the "more" comes into play with their name, let alone Bagel! The bagels are cute! They are so small, you want to take them home and dress them in your little sisters doll clothes. What I find amazing is the "do it yourself" attitude of BM. You want cream cheese on your bagel? DO IT YOURSELF! You want that bagel toasted? DO IT YOURSELF!! You would be just as well off ordering your bagels online from a reputable bagel maker, and do the rest of the job in the comfort of your own home. But let's not just harp on the tiny, little, mini's this place wants to pass off as bagels. The coffee at BM is terrible. The odds of getting a loosely packed, watered down waste of grinds is high. The entire staff could use some training on the espresso machine. The interior is dull! Bare walls, with no clear intention of putting anything interesting up. The music is what I would expect visiting my grandmother in a nursing home. Actually, if you go into this place on a weekday at 9am, a nursing home cafeteria is exactly what this place looks like. Maybe that's BM's demographic? If so, they nailed it! If you want a good bagel, your best bet is 25 minutes south on the 51, or 20 minutes north on the 39. read more

I had one of the worst lattes here I've ever had. The server who made it (she was obviously NOT a barista) did not clean out the portafilter or group head before starting. This means espresso grind left from the last time it was used was still in there. Considering it was very slow, it was likely sitting there for quite a while. Grind that is left in a portafilter, locked into the group head for an extended period forms a hard hockey-puck like mass; it requires scrubbing and extra cleaning to remove all the old grind. Even the milk was awful. I'm hoping I just didn't notice, but it did not look like she was using a thermometer when steaming. Even if she was, she doesn't know the proper temps to steam to. The milk came out badly scalded and the foam was filled with bubbles. I was not surprised to find this latte tasting over extracted, burnt and bitter. I wanted to cool it off some and take the scalded/burnt taste down a few notches, by adding some more milk, but found the pitcher empty. I suspect this is a casual bagel-diner that thought they could increase profits by serving espresso drinks. So they bought the machine, but never bothered to learn how to use it. Maybe their sandwiches are good. I don't know. But considering the lack of attention, effort and skill that went into making a simple latte, I'm really not inclined to find out. read more

I've worked within walking distance of B&M for about 8 months, but this is the first time I've gone...and honestly it was only because I had a gift card. I walked over for lunch and wasn't really expecting much outside of a free meal. I hesitantly chose the Italian beef sandwich. I'm a big fan of Italian beef, so I was skeptical of what I would receive from a place called Bagels & More. I chose Italian bread and provolone, and I have to say that I was very pleasantly surprised. The beef was sliced a little thicker than I'd like, but it was tender and the flavor was excellent. The bread was sliced, which is different than what I'm used to, but it was soft and tasted great as well. Dipped in the au jus, it had a perfect texture. Slightly thinner beef and some hot giardiniera relish would put this sandwich over the top (not sure if they had giardiniera...didn't ask). Side note, I'm from Illinois, so the fact that they have 6-packs of Spotted Cow for carry-out is awesome. Add that to the great sandwich, and I will be adding this to my list of lunch options. read more

Great place to catch a fabulous lunch. Friendly staff, wonderful choices and Best.Pumpkin.Bar.Ever. Moist, rich and awesome cream cheese frosting. Will definitely come back read more

We enjoy Bagels and more, particularly for breakfast. The food, coffee and atmosphere are all very nice. They're right down town so they're very convenient. Given their tenure in the community and downtown they're the frequent gathering place for locals. It's of huge significance that they're nearing completion of a major renovation of the storefront reminiscent of the building's original facade. It's an amazing transformation. I would imagine its been good for business. I'm positive it's been a huge benefit for the downtown streetscape. read more

Finding a good bagel in the Midwest is tough. The bagels here are dense and chewy and crispy on the outside. We got 6 to bring home so no experience with service. The have salt bagels! Tasty. Coffee is only ok. read more

I'll start by saying I am a HUGE fan of Bagels and have been a connoisseur ever since I was a kid. So to start with the quality of the bagels.....they are decent. The are not quite NY bagels, but they are a hell of a lot better than what you find a Panera or any other chain places in the Midwest. I was impressed by the egg & cheese sandwich, stacked with plenty of egg and cheese it was hearty and satisfying. They also have a good collection of breakfast items including omelettes and french toast. It is the ideal place for Brunch on a weekend. They also have a variety of fresh breads and muffins available in the am and lunch time. The soups are also all homemade and very good. Other things to mention....they have local beer, lots of organic teas/chai's, and fresh coffee. The service is very good and the people behind the counter are all very friendly. My one HUGE gripe with this place is the same thing that Alan G., complained about......toasting and applying cream cheese/butter to your own bagel. I love the NY deli's where they toast and lather on the cream cheese/butter and you walk out satisfied. Here, you have to toast your own bagel and use the little butter square or round cream cheese containers. IT KILLS ME!!! I would give this place another star if they only prepared the bagel for you. read more

The bagels are average by east coast standards but good. I didn't actually have the bagels for lunch, I had soup and quiche which were outstanding. The interior is gorgeous and the owner was very friendly. I would definitely go back. read more

I'm not sure why it's 3 stars, but there aren't many reviews yet I suppose. This is my mom and I'd favorite lunch spot, and she stops by to pick up breakfast on the way to work sometimes too. The service is quick, the food is so fresh and delicious, and I love the soup! Also, there are plenty of amazingly looking treats. Each sandwich comes with a pickle and cookie as well (and the cookies are always delicious). I recommend the cream of chicken soup, depending if they have it that day, and the italian beef sandwich, which is every day. Get a Virgil's bottle root beer, some salt and pepper chips too. :) Enjoy and don't let the reviews lead you astray! read more

This place grows on me with every visit. We used to go next door for breakfast and here for coffee but now it's breakfast and coffee at Bagels. Each time we go I see something that looks amazing, but i always end up back to the biscuits and sausage gravy. My partner loves the everything omelet that changes seasonal with the veggies. The veggies are cooked perfect and have a nice grilled flavor to them. The bagels are always solid and the coffee packs a good punch. Whether for breakfast or just a coffee while doing some emails. This place will continue to get my business. Only reason I don't give it 5 star is the large groups that tend to linger that end up increasing the noise level dramatically. Also- I love the paint job and refresher they did since my last visit, creates a nice ambiance read more

I remember going to this bagel shop with my grandma when I was a kid and continuing to go with her every time she would come to town when I was a teenager. Such a wide variety of bagels to choose from and made in so many different ways its really hard to choose just one to eat usually end up getting a couple different kinds Great atmosphere. Really Nice Place with Great Customer Service read more

Bagels and More is a pretty darn good place for breakfast, no doubt! I have been here a handful of times and have never had a bad experience. The staff have always been nice, the food has been good, and the atmosphere is pretty cool, in an old building in DT Beloit. For me, it is not standout though, it is just a good place to go, and really only for breakfast or brunch every once and a while. Nothing has made me really want to frequent here. There are a bunch of people there who do appear to be regulars though. Regardless, it is a good place, and I do not think that you will be disappointed if you give it a shot! read more

I've only ever eaten here once, and it was for breakfast. I was in Beloit for work, staying at the Ironworks Hotel. I was a brand-new vegan and I ordered the vegan breakfast burrito. It was the first "tofu scramble"-type dish I ever had in a restaurant that ACTUALLY TASTED GOOD. In fact it was delicious. It was so good, I emailed the owner after I came back home to ask how to make it, and she responded with the recipe. So, what can I say, please go patronize these folks. On the off-chance that you're vegan, which I realize is kind of weird, try the tofu breakfast burrito, you'll be happy you did. read more

The people working there are very nice and the inside is OK, you can always find a place to sit. The food is alright, but I think most of the lunch specials are made ahead then frozen. Whenever you order something like their Pot Pies or Mac N Cheese variations it will always be cold to frozen in the middle. Their soup and sandwiches are very good though. read more

I found this place while staying at the Iron work hotel their info was in the room. Was able to order breakfast to the room and they had free delivery! The food is fresh made to order, quality ingredients, & was fast! My husband and I both ordered omelets that came with a little side of fruit. Also ordered potatoes. I only wish I ordered bacon in mine like he did it was awsome. I can't say enough quality ingredients! When in the area again will try lunch items. read more

In an online questionnaire conducted by the Beloit College Market Research Workshop in the spring 2010 there were 136 total responses for Bagels & More. On a 5-Star scale, the average rating was 3.79. Additionally, write in responses were made available for each restaurant, and the following reviews were left for Bagels & More. "Bagels and more needs an expanded breakfast menu to include pancakes, french toast, etc., they also need to get rid of customers toasting their own bread." "Bagels and More and Bushel and Pecks both offer excellent deli/ lunch options, but possibilities for healthy and creative hot meals are more limited." "Bagels & More has weird hours. If they changed them, I would go a lot more often." "Bagels and more is a great place to stop for a quick meal or snack during times that aren't feasible to eat on campus." "Bagels and More is FANTASTIC. It's hard to be more specific because everything there is so good." "Bagels and more is one of the best breakfast places I've ever been to. Their bagels and pastries are phenomenal!" For more information on Beloit's City Center restaurants, visit the official facebook page at: http://tiny.cc/bcfood read more

Great hometown bagel spot with very good food and nice staff - coffee is great, pastries and breads outstanding -- didn't know they cater too! facelift / building restoration looks beautiful, and beer n wine go with new evening hours -- right downtown so really convenient. My son and I went to Bagels and More after touring Beloit College. The lady who took our order was not friendly at all. She got my son's soup ready and gave it to him while I was standing there and I had to then ask to place my order too. Like she didn't even think I would want food. It wasn't very busy when we were there and I felt like we were inconveniencing them to be there even though it was standard lunch time. The food was okay - kind of like Panera. We also didn't know if we were supposed to clean up ourselves or if someone else did it for us. read more

Bagels and More is a very warm and welcoming cafe that is owned and has been operated by a local couple for 13 years. The Food is served deli style with a superb menu and ever changing and delicious lunch specials. The coffee is great and refills are free. A recent total remodel of the front of the building has greatly increased seating capacity and brightened up the place with it's floor to ceiling windows that overlook State st. Bagels and More is much more than a restaurant. It's become a local landmark and community social center. It's as common to see local retirees meeting for morning coffee as it is to see groups of Beloit College students accessing the free Wi-Fi and doing their homework. I highly recommend Dave and Joanie's Bagels and More. read more

So I've been here a few times and let me tell you it's great. However one of the two omelet see ordered were slightly under cooked but other than that it's amazing. For the most part they have good daily lunch specials. Sometimes they are a little too far fetched and overly creative. The food is good and fair priced. The only item that I do not recommend is the burgers. Multiple times they have been slightly over cooked and seemed portioned too small for the buns they use. On the flip side the fruit tortes are absolutely delicious and addictive. read more
