First review of 2026! We decided to stop by and try out bagel world. As we drive past but never tried. Service was good. Waitress was super friendly and kind. Ambient noise was ok. Just the sounds of other tables talking. The tv were on the news channels Smoke salmon Benedict with home fries. Smoke salmon had a weird texture. Not alot of hollandaise sauce and the english muffin was not toasted or wasnt toasted enough. Home fries was nice and had alot of good flavour! 5/10 4x2 breakfast. Easy fast classic meal. 2 eggs 2 sausage 2 bacon and 2 pancakes. Sausage was a little on the smaller side. But eggs cooked perfectly and the pancakes was nice and fluffy and not dense like some places. Bacon was crispy as well. 7/10 Overall a decent breakfast location. Although they're called bagel world, I haven't tried their bagels yet! I stick to what I know and enjoy which is their eggs benedict. Large serving, delicious breakfast and make sure to ask for the homemade hot sauce - it pairs perfectly with the breakfast potatoes! I believe it's a Moroccan recipe. My friends are regulars here so we joined them this past weekend for brunch. This is our second time here and the servers remembered us from months ago which is pretty amazing. I think the service and environment here is very homey and cute. It's your local breakfast type of joint. They have great bagels. You can choose fancy ones that twist or flat ones too if that's more up your alley. I had the great Canadian breakfast and had no regrets. I was actually hungry enough to finish my meal. The pancake here is also really good. It's nice and fluffy with good flavour. Definitely would be excited to go back in the future. This is my second time at the Newmarket Bagel Word location (it has been here for years now) and I don't know why I have not tried this place sooner! I got the Shakshuka and grilled veggie bagelini to share with a friend and both of them were to die for ! The Shakshuka is a poached egg in a delicious tomato sauce ( I hate tomato sauce so this says a lot) on a hot skillet and some home fries. I can probably eat this every time I come here. The grilled veggie bagelini was as equally amazing, and it even has goat cheese in it (my favorite!!!), I was so happy my friend and I were able to get both and share. Manager was extremely nice. We went at 11 am on a Sunday and it was packed. I ordered a Texas omelette special and my wife ordered the Greek salad. The wait was insane 30-35 mins but it was their busiest time. The omelette was meh. Could have had more flavour and the shakshuka sauce they put on top tasted like Ragu. The manager is Israeli so I was surprised she didn't have a more authentic sauce. My wife's salad was all iceberg lettuce with a bit of crumbled feta on top. Nothing special and it wasn't cheap. I may go back and try something new. I liked the atmosphere and the location was convenient. Want to try their bagels next time. I'll give them another try. read more

The place was very busy with a line up to get in. They had sufficient staff in to cover the volume. There were runners and bussers on and we were sat very quickly. We ordered our coffees and we were treated to one of the worst tasting coffees I have ever had. It was so bad I returned it. Second cup was better, but not much. The service was terrible, we had to constantly flag down our server. To order, to ask for condiments and to request the cheque. The food was top notch. I had the big breakfast with the flattened bagel, which was great, very unique. Food arrived very fast and was exactly to order. The bagels are good. However: I bought half a dozen of bagels and asked to toast one of them so I can eat it in the car. The cashier said the rules don't allow them to do that and if I want to toast my bagel, I have to buy another one separately. I was trying to understand the logic behind it, asking a few questions and being genuinely amused, and cashier was obviously frustrated that she had to reject such a natural request, not being able to explain the logic behind that rule. The manager who stood by, was annoyed by my questions and told in very arrogant tone that those are the rules and they cannot toast a bagel for me. BTW, toaster was running non stop anyways, so I cannot assume they were trying to save on Hydro charges. Even though the bagels are good, I will not come to any of those stores anymore, because this incident left really bad taste. This is a very weird rule that has no logical explanation and I think that owners should really reconsider it if they don't want to lose more customers. read more

I went here while on the go for a bagel with lox cream cheese. It was delicious. Whenever I pass by the place, I remind whomever I am with to check it out. It doesn't look so appealing on the outside, but the inside is quaint and displays a ton of baked goods along with killer cream cheese. Sometimes Philidelphia cream cheese just doesn't cut it. Busy new spot taking the place of the greek grill in an aging plaza on Yonge St. I've never visited the other locations so this was my first experience with the brand. Visiting on a very busy morning we were still afforded a seat by a very hands on owner/manager who was really expediting everything. The service was good and the food was definitely up to standard. Coffee was decent but the smoked eggs benedict was great and there were many enticing dishes coming out of the kitchen that I'll have to go back and try. There is also a patisserie that sells various baked good and fresh macaroons that are hard to come by up in Newmarket. I popped in here for lunch and, the service was so slow, I got back to work late. They advertise for breakfast and lunch, but it doesn't work for someone on a time schedule! The servers were ignoring me when I tried to ask for a takeaway container, so I had to wrap the rest of my food in napkins. I asked about allergen information, and the server didn't know and made me embarrassed to have asked when she replied, "I guess I can ask!" and then went back to the kitchen. They ended up calling the owners, who simply said they couldn't be held responsible since the food comes from somewhere else. Finally, I ended up getting oatmeal for $5 (after opting away from 2 eggs for $6.50!) I asked about allergens in that and got the same reaction. "I don't know... I guess I could check the packaging?" It wasn't even that busy! My lunch companions said their food was good, but we all agreed the service (from the owners down to the servers) left much to be desired. I will usually test a place by ordering the Eggs Benedict, providing it is real Hollandaise sauce-not powdered pre-mix. Bagel World didn't let me down. The eggs were poached correctly, and the Hollandaise was excellent. With a side of nicely seasoned home fries, it is a winner in my breakfast book. My husband and I have been to Bagel World a few times since its open and we absolutely love it. The food is always fresh and delicious, and servers are very courteous and kind. Both my husband and I are vegan, and they were EXTREMELY accommodating and understanding - I inquired about a few baked goods, and the head baker even offered for me to come in and learn how to bake vegan versions of their delicious baked goods! Two for lunch on Saturday. Busy spot! As they just recently opened there are visible rough spots to smooth. Lengthy wait to place an order but we were in good company and patient as the wait staff was obviously trying so hard. My daughter had sesame bagel, cream cheese and lox platter with vegetables rather than salad. She loved it! I had tuna platter with sesame bagel and vegetables. Not horrible, but certainly not good. Bagels are not fresh, breakfast was not outstanding (I had an omelet and bagel). For a place that has 'bagel' in the title (and especially 'world' to follow) it doesn't, at all, deliver outstanding bagels; in fact, nothing better than the grocery store. Even if their bagels are made in house (which I'd assume they are), you certainly couldn't tell. As for the rest of breakfast (my omelette), not good. read more
