We stopped here for breakfast before running errands. And I am happy we did! We both ended up getting bagel sandwiches and could only eat half each. They were so big. I got the BLT turkey and my husband got the locks sandwich. Both were very good. I did read some reviews complaining about the price which I can understand. I think it's $27 for a dozen but if they're good bagels, I'm willing to pay that. Obviously not in every day thing, but if you have people coming into town, it might be worth it. They also sell day old stuff which is significantly less expensive and I'm sure just as good. My partner and I grabbed bagelwiches during our first visit to Bagel Lovers Cafe today. He ordered a pastrami, egg & cheese on marble rye bagel; I got a bacon, egg & cheese on an egg bagel. The service was friendly enough and relatively quick, too. The place is tucked away in the corner of a strip mall, yet the interior is bright with pretty wall murals. They have some countertop seats and tables for dining in, but we grabbed our food to go. When we got home to eat, we discovered different bagels than what we ordered. I was given an everything egg bagel (instead of egg), and he received a rye (instead of marble rye, their flavor for July). These were in the ballpark of what we ordered, but still wrong. I'm not a big fan of everything seasoning, so I guess it's good they really under season them? Both bagels were quite under-toasted, too. My partner said that, despite the wrong, under-toasted bagel, the pastrami on his sandwich was tasty. My sandwich was fine, and I'm glad they got my cheese order correct. I'm sure we'll be back at some point; we'll just double-check that we actually get the food we ordered. read more

Do not order catering!!! Background: on Friday I ordered a bagel platter 1 for pickup on Tuesday at 8 am. This was well in advance of the requested 24 hours notice. I paid $112 for 18 bagels, cream cheese, jelly, and coffee. On Tuesday at 8:15, I showed up and the look of panic on the cashiers face told me that they were unaware they had a catering order. So I patiently waited, knowing I had a 9 am meeting that folks were expecting bagels and coffee for. About 8:30, the young woman with shorter dark brown hair brought the platter out and apologized for the wait. I asked "is there coffee coming too?" And she said very condescendingly that the coffee was complementary to the platter and she didn't have any coffee boxes. She offered me apple juice instead. I declined the apple juice, because adults want caffeine at 9 am, not apple juice. I further stated that if they didn't have all the ingredients for my order, they should have called me because they had my phone number. She said "well the coffee was complementary anyway. Take the platter or not, but I don't have coffee boxes." She was so condescending and dismissive, pushing me aside and asking the woman behind me how she could help her. So I took the platter to my car and checked the receipt I had for the order. It very clearly stated 2 boxes of coffee. So I paid $112 for 18 bagels and some cream cheese... or $6.22 per bagel on a piece of flimsy cardboard covered in seran wrap. Had I just bought 18 bagels sliced with 2 containers of cream cheese, it would have cost me less than $40!!! So I went back inside and asked for them to refund me the price of 2 boxes of coffee. The woman refused to do it at that time and said she would do it by the end of the day. It's now 2 days later and I have no received a refund for 2 boxes of coffee that were clearly stated on the catering site as being included. On a side note, the woman that I was dealing with was so absolutely dismissive and condescending to me during this situation. I spent years working in food service. At no point did she apologize for not having coffee boxes, not calling me to notify me OR suggest giving me a refund. She tried to say that the coffee was complementary. So I am expecting a refund or I will be paying another visit very soon to get my refund. So either the coffee is included in the price of the catering OR that was some expensive ass cardboard and seran wrap. read more

And we got an everything bagel. Maybe 6 sesame seeds on the entire thing and the rest was naked. Got a bacon egg and cheese, bacon was soggy, and the whole sandwich just didn't have any taste. It's also pricey here, bacon egg and cheese wound up being $7. They charge you extra for everything, and a ridiculous amount for it, not just a couple of cents. I found this hidden gem, thanks to a friend who frequents. She drives from Grantville just for the blueberry muffins alone. I was also happy to learn that it is located in a little strip mall only about 7 minutes from my home! On this particular Saturday morning she had called for them to "hold" a blueberry muffin for her and by the time we arrived, around 11:30 am., that was the only one they had left! We both ordered bagels--she ordered something coconut with pineapple cream cheese (or vice versa?), which she liked. I like more hearty bagels so I ordered the everything bagel with herb cream cheese. Wow. One of the best bagels I ever had. Coffee was decent as well. Came in on a Friday for lunch because I've been looking for good bagels in the area. Unfortunately, I still have to keep looking. It's a homey spot with a good amount of seating. When I came in at noon it wasn't crowded at all but some bagels were out for the day. Bagels are NY style, boiled, with plenty of spreads available I got mostly recommendations by staff. Sausage egg cheese on Jalapeño ; french toast bagel ; omelet bagel (special of the week) total came out to ~$8 I had the bagel sandwich at the store to try out/take pics. Sandwich wasn't tasty at all- the jalapeño bagel was missing a lot of flavor, it tasted like a plain old piece of bread with jalapeños sprinkled in - pretty unfortunate to miss what makes bagels really bagels. The insides (sausage, egg, cheese) were all fine, but tasted like they were cooked from frozen. I don't feel dissatisfied with the price or what I got for the price, but I'm thoroughly disappointed in quality and taste. I'll update the review if the two other bagels really exceed 2* expectations. Otherwise, I really hope this place improves or another bagel place opens in the harrisburg area. read more

If you want a good tasting bagel this is a good place to go. The cafe drinks are also really good. Just make sure you ask for light ice or the whole cup Is filled with ice. I got the everything bagel with bacon, egg and cheese for 6.75 which is a pretty good deal and the bagel was very yummy. My mom got the sun dried tomato bagel with regular cream cheese, she said the bagel was very good. However, a single bagel there is only 1.25 BUT if you get it with cream cheese they charge 6.15 I couldn't believe it they charge 4.50 just for the cream cheese so I wouldn't recommend getting this better off paying. 25 cents extra for a sandwich. The Cafe drinks were delicious. We added caramel to each of ours. read more
