This was the worst bagel i've ever had from a bagel shop. Actually, frozen grocery store bagels have been better. The plain bagel had no snap or bite to it. More like a cheap loaf of bread formed in a circle shape. And the 1/2 oz of cream cheese was embarrassing. Also ordered a cinnamon roll but there was no cream cheese icing and it had raisin in it! Went to Bagel King in Norwalk because we like the one in Bridgeport and were in the area. It is not the same. They only had 2 kinds of Bagels, sesame and plain and they were definitely yesterday's bagels. Stale and poorly made. The girl waiting on us had a hard time with a regular coffee ( bad) and a hot tea and two bagels not toasted with cream cheese. It took 10 minutes and we had to correct her a couple of times. Will NEVER go there again. The store is dirty too. read more

I came here years ago and wasn't a fan they barely had any bagels and the service was terrible, but! Ever since they turned over to new owners and remolded the place it's to die for! I get breakfast here at least a couple time a week and they never disappoint, it's my go to spot now they're iced coffee is amazing ! I got here 10 minutes after it opened, jetlagged and hoping for an authentic East Coast bagel. You know the kind I mean -- boiled in water with malt syrup and baked until they are soft and steamy on the inside, crispy nearly to the point of crackling on the outside. Well, the bagels were cold. There was no steamy. There was no crackling. There was only me with my schmear and a look of disappointment in my bleary eyes. To make matters worse, the window washers were on the job and decided that rather than wait for me to finish my bagel, they needed to work around me. So I felt rushed to get out of there or else have dirty water dropped on my head. Big disappointment. read more

I was disappointed. After I had left, I realized my toasted bagels were more on the burnt side. I wasn't expecting that. I still tried to eat them anyway, but the burnt taste ruined it. I also noticed one bagel did not have nearly enough butter, making it very dry and unappealing. The other had way too much cream cheese. I came here because I remembered years ago I had a really good bagel here. It's just a convenience store with a selection of maybe 6-7 different types of bagels. I had asked for 3 scrambled eggs without dairy (cheese or butter) and they argued with me that eggs are dairy and so I asked for the eggs without the cheese or butter. They then gave me an omelette with cheese when I returned it they argued with me again and then gave me another omelette. Just an overall annoying experience. read more

So surprised to see no one has reviewed Norwalk's Bagel King. This place is the real deal... the bagels were delicious, the cream cheese tasted great and the staff was very friendly. They also had a selection of cupcakes that looked amazing, it was tempting. It's a shame I live in Westport and can't get out here more often, as it trumps any other bagel I've had in the area easily. read more

Just plain skeevy! Had to walk out and go back in to make sure I was actually in a bagel shop. Doubles as a convenience store/smoke shop/deli, etc. Place is dark and dirty. This bagel shop has maybe 4 different varieties of bagels and very low stock. The chill counter with the cream cheese looks sketchy and not well attended. You can't pay with a credit or debit card without a minimum purchase amount and the ATM to get cash has a $3 fee. I waked out and went to Village Bagels down the street. Great place!! read more

Gave them a call for a basket for a family loss and they were super accommodating up to and including delivery for the same day! I am so happy. They were very nice on the phone. My husband says they have the best bagels in town too! read more

I wouldn't recommend this place at all! I ordered a toasted onion bagel with cream cheese and it was horrid. The bagel was was burnt and not even warm if that makes sense. It looked very dirty and the guy wore the same gloves for making the bagel that he used for handling money. I will never go back here. The bagel was so bad I wouldn't even give it to a bird. read more

Horrible. I was excited to see Bagel King in Norwalk, but rest assured this is NOT the same Bagel King that Fairfield County is used to. I see someone else already commented about walking out and back in to make sure they were in the right place, because it looks like a convenience store. It's not a bagel place at all, they had maybe 4 varieties of bagels. I asked for very lightly toasted with cream cheese. No shock that when i got back to work to eat, it was burnt and looks like it may have been stale to begin with. Pass on this place and eat at Taco Bell across the street if you're hungry. Finding a really good bagel outside of the city is difficult. Anyone who expects it will be disappointed, as bagels baked in the boroughs are believed to be a unique product having much to do with NYC public water. All the same, Bagel King does a nice job. They have never once disappointed me, and that's saying a lot. I am a merciless punisher of bad and mediocre bagels alike. read more

Good bagels. I'm from Brooklyn, and grew up on NY bagels, and these do quite well. They tend to be on the doughy side as opposed to light and sweet, but if you like this style, you won't be disappointed. Always-friendly staff and a locals hangout makes it very homey. read more

Use to be the best bagels in Norwalk, now has a rubber and old stale taste. The variety store that was next door bought them out and now they are terrible. Go to Village Bagel down the road you will not be disappointed, crusty light taste. read more

I went there recently and was very sad to see that half of their space is now taken over by a convenience store that sells lotto tickets and magazines. :-( It looks like they have a limited selection of foods now. I ordered a bagel and cream cheese apparently after they were "closed" so the guy was unable to heat it for me, but that's ok - it still tasted good. I'm just sad to see this happening :( read more
