Poor service and high prices.... I won't be going back. It is not often that I give just two stars to an establishment but my experience here had me feeling sad and somewhat angry, and even sorry for the owners. My husband and I walked in on a Sunday morning to an empty restaurant. We wanted to get something for lunch to take to the park. We did not order bagels, so I can't comment on their quality. What struck me was that there really wasn't anyone in there and the only person at the counter, a young woman, was talking to a young male customer and totally ignored us. I understand, I really do, (I used to work in a Middle School), but after awhile my husband had to interrupt her. At this point, I'm already feeling we walked into the wrong place. The specials board had 4 or 5 panini sandwiches listed. All sounded very good. We ordered the Roast Beef Panini and were told that they don't serve that. Well, it's on the special board. The young girl said that they "ran out." Okay, so now I'm really in the wrong place. I'm thinking that if the restaurant is empty, and they ran out of roast beef why don't they erase it? It's a chalk board! Okay, I do understand, the owner's not here and she's young. We ordered two other sandwiches, for $8.99 each. My husband got the turkey(deli type) similar to a club sandwich with bacon. I ordered the chicken breast with cheese and pesto sauce. Both sandwiches were not bad tasting and seemed fresh, made on a pita type bread. Check out my photos.. The sandwiches, with pickel and 1/2 ounce of chips, were definitely small and thin. They contained very little meat which I thought was overpriced for $8.99. My chicken was also chewy, not tender at all. So, our lunch came to about $20 and we were not very happy with our experience. I had heard they have gluten free bagels and stopped in hoping they were also low carb (made with almond flour). They did not have what I wanted so I ordered an omelet. Keep in mind that I omit the bagel that comes with it. The omelet was really good. I ate the berries out of the fruit salad. It seems like such a waste of food since I won't eat it all. Very tasty. We visited Bagel Bistro this morning . It is a nice place, and the two lox bagels abdbghd panini we ordered were delicious. However, at least two servers and the cashier had their masks on their chins, and the indoor tables were very close together. This is simply not safe right now. The servers need to be trained, there should be a plexiglass barrier between the servers and the cashier and the clients. I will probably return but will order online and pick up and spend as little time inside the restaurant as possible. read more

45 minute wait for an untoasted bagel with cream cheese. This place is so incredibly unorganized, 1 person working the bagels... so so slow. The actual bagel was great but not worth the wait. Food is always good. However, employees are the unhappiest group of people I've ever seen. Never been greeted. Never seen a smile. This morning, after watching the woman in front of me leave with her order without receiving a "Thank you" or "Goodbye" I was greeted by a mute, staring cashier. I asked for a bagel. She took my money, handed it to me and then stated past me to the next person. The only words I heard from her the entire time were, "99 cents." Always the same. They should put Prozac in the employee coffee. Update: I still eat here every week because the food is consistently good. This week, much to my surprise, I was greeted and even saw a smile. While a nice place and nice people running it, which what saved their rating from being one star. Their product leaves a lot to be desired. Their bagels are lack luster and I feel like I could have gotten the same from opening a bag from the grocery store and they look very unimpressive. The final nail in the coffin, the price. $3.50 for a flavored bagel and flavored cream cheese. No, no, no. A plane bagel and regular cream cheese is at most $1.50. A flavored bagel and flavored cream cheese should be $2.50, maybe $2.75 if their amazing. But $3.50! No! I'm a New Yorker and I know bagels. This is not the place to go, do not eat here if you want a bagel. Find some place else. read more

If you are cheap or don't know the value of a great bagel, do not come here... It's not cheap, but is worth every penny. You get what you pay for, in most instances. What happened to this place? I have not been here in about a year and I will not be back after my last visit. This place is DIRTY, I was so grossed out I ate half my bagel and threw the rest out. Crumbs and debris all over the floor in main dining area. Glass cooler where they keep all refrigerated items for sale was gross, dirty and rusty on the inside. It should have been thrown away years ago. Made the mistake of going to the bathroom which is right next to the kitchen door and hallway leading to bathroom and outside of bathroom there were crumbs and dust balls everywhere. I even saw half the body of a dead roach!! These were not crumbs and dust balls from that day as dust balls that size take months to accumulate. Store was empty so there is no excuse as to why this place is so dirty. If the areas that customers can see look like this I can only imagine the kitchen and prep areas. Sadly, probably my last meal at Bagel Bistro. Consistency seems to be an issue, in the kitchen that is. Last order I placed for scrambled eggs....resulted in something on the rubbery/oily side that caused a great deal of gastric distrrss. a the quality of both the bagel and cream cheese wasn't up to par either. I had to give this place only 3 stars. Not because of the food. The food was delish. The problem I had was it was a bit on the expensive side but even that wouldn't deter me from going again. What I cannot look past was how snotty one of the girls was. She ignored, shrugged off not one us but another older gentlemen and when she did acknowledge you she had an attitude. She just has poor customer service skillsplain and simple. I was a bit irritated how she left us standing at the counter trying not to look at us but I was most irritatsd at how she completely ignored the old man who asked a question. I disliked seeing her shrug her shoulders when the other girl tried to call her once and then a few minutes later when she told her he was talking to her. Perfect breakfast spot. Nice fresh large bagels. I ordered the onion bagel with vegetable cream cheese. It was so large I couldn't finish it.
