(888) 347-2010, which is the one I'm reviewing) and it saddens me that this is my first Yelp posting ever, but my experience with Chemtech was so negative for squirrel trapping/removal that I had to post. First off, they require full payment up front, which is already an issue, but hey, I had a rodent emergency that seemed... somewhat straightforward, so I figured it'd get resolved quickly and went with it. Second, they can't adhere to any kind of schedule. While setting an appointment, I was dealing with "Steve" who said I wouldn't need to be present when they made their first inspection of the our house and the problem. As a result, I didn't set an official appointment and when the next day rolled around, I got a phone call at 7pm on my way home from work asking, "Where are you? We've been waiting for an hour." Their "inspection" then occurred at 8pm in the dark with a flashlight, when no one could really see anything. Two nights later they put up a couple of traps over some holes that were in spots completely unrelated to where the sounds in the house were coming from and... that was it! No additional searching (particularly in the area of the house that I indicated the noises were coming from), no checkups beyond what was done in the dark at night. And no visits. I finally needed to get some repairs done and asked them two days before the repairs began (around 3 weeks after the traps went up with no success because... they weren't in the right place) to remove the traps so work could begin. No response. So I had the repairmen remove them. Steve went ballistic saying that "his property" had been removed and I "let someone touch his traps." and ended it with "This case is closed." So. Customer service = 0. Value = 0 (They got a LOT of money up front for a total of around 1.5 hrs of work). Success = 0. Avoid at all costs.

After two weeks, my squirrels situation had been resolved and Steve/Andrew came back to close the entry points. Steve was super responsive and professional during the two weeks of waiting and trapping. I was impressed that Steve responded to my call and gave me an appointment on the same day especially it was the day before Thanksgiving. Leon Brown has to be the worst most unprofessional exterminator there is! I had been dealing with…read moreroaches for over a year when my landlord finally hired him to get rid of them. After getting his number, it took almost a week to reach him, he never once returned our calls! At first he seemed professional and knowledgeable. Went in put some wood stuff and bait around the apartment. Told us in a few days , we will see less roaches--that never happened. After 2 weeks, we called Brown again and of course, we couldn't reach him! Finally, after calling from a random number (because I felt he was screening and rejecting our calls) we finally got in contact with him. It took a few minutes but we finally reached a day when he could come (a week and a half later). When he came back, he did the same thing he did before, sprinkled wood stuff, put some pellets and left. I am not an exterminator, I don't know what it needed or used, so I couldn't correct him on his methods. After another 2 weeks, we were still seeing hundred of roaches daily (and I wish I were exaggerating, but it was a really bad infestation). I called Brown again and couldn't reach him. So I gave up, I called another company who came in 2 days later, told us Brown not only was using the wrong bait but that he didn't even put it where it needed to be. The bait used by Brown was like candy to the roaches apparently--and we had that stuff put in twice. So there was a chance that Brown's bait was causing more to come out and eat! I will NEVER recommend or use Brown's company again!

Mr. Brown arrived a few minutes early and got right to work on our small co-op in Manhattan to address complaints of bugs and mice. He was available to work on a Saturday, his rates were quite reasonable, he impressed everyone with his courtesy and respectful consideration for his client's apartments and his careful inspection of potential trouble spots. The quality and safety of the products used are appropriate to the setting: non-toxic products are used in residential quarters. The business is registered with the NY State DEC Bureau of Pesticide Management, to commercially apply pesticides in the state. Leon Brown is a good exterminator for your building or business.
