A motorcycle gathering had closed the street outside, so we felt very lucky to get a seat when we did. The tap list here is impressive. I was thrilled that they had so many ciders to choose from, including several from one of my favorite cideries, 2 Towns. My husband was happy to have one of his favorite imports, Kilkenny, which is hard to find in the US, and followed it up with a local beer from Fernson, Ears Up. We started off with a South Dakota specialty, Chislic. I asked our server if it was more authentic grilled or fried, and she said grilled. They were really good! My husband had the Bourbon Bacon Burger with garlic fries. He really enjoyed it. I snagged a fry and it was tasty, with bold garlic. I had the pork tacos. These were not small street tacos, but very filling full-size tacos. A bit messy, but our server left us plenty of napkins. When she came by to ask if we needed anything more, we asked for the check. She said it'd be right out, and asked if we'd like free mini cupcakes as a thank you. She commented they'd been short staffed. I must say, everyone in there was working hard (the boss came by to check with us several times) and we have no complaints, only compliments. We then shared two mini cupcakes, one vanilla and one red velvet. It was a sweet ending to a really great meal.

The server placed our drinks on the table by grabbing them all from the tops. We had to ask for straws, not wanting to drink out of the glasses that her hands were all over. The omelets looked to be half the size that they normally are and had very little ingredients in them. The sides of hash browns were also about half the normal portion. The pancakes were also smaller than usual, thin, hard and cold. We had to ask for butter which wouldn't melt on the cold pancakes anyway, and the syrup dispenser was sticky. I ordered the Southwest Cajun chicken salad. What a disaster! There was maybe an ounce of chicken and it was not blackened Cajun. It also was missing the tortilla strips and avocado. When I told the server, she brought out a glop of avocado with some tortilla strip crumbs. (See photo!) When we mentioned that we were disappointed, the server replied with "Yeah, I don't know what happened." Poor customer service and the server was clearly not trained on how to check food before serving or how to handle customer complants. It was the absolute worst meal that we have ever had at a Perkins.

As we were leaving town I noticed on my smoothie it said "you're cute" which was obviously meant for my boyfriend seeing as how only girls were working at the time we went there. Now we know why they were standing there like they had nothing better to do with their lives. Service was slow, unprofessional, inappropriate, uncalled for. Do not go there unless you want to pay for overpriced smoothies, Rude teenage girls, slow service, and overall unprofessionalism. If you're old enough to have a job you're old enough to have some common sense and respect. Disappointed I can't get a refund. Will continue to share my terrible experience.
