(I've heard aquariums are a bit addictive, and I can say that's true!) I was sooooo happy to see that they keep each of their Bettas in a large, long individual tank. No terrible tiny plastic cups here! The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful - and very patient with all of my questions. They even test your tank water (for free) to make sure it's suitable for the fish you purchase. Overall, no complaints! Prices are reasonable and are better than Amazon (sometimes by a lot). I have also bought cat and dog supplies here as well.

I ended up getting a warm layer from a brand made in Canada. Yay! A lovely lady also helped me try lots of jackets on my dog which really helped (as my dog wriggled a lot lol). No one in other stores helped me as much as this one lady did. Not only did I receive great customer service but the store was very clean and had lots of products. I only had a quick look but I didn't really see many locally made treats (Vancouver) and vegan dog treats/food. So I hope Korna will be getting more of those things soon! Price wise - some things are on par with the other stores, some are more expensive. Overall I had a great experience and will be back.

However, the staff had become very pushy and hard sale recently, simply annoying and made my shopping experience unpleasant. Not only that, the most unforgivable thing was they triple charged my mom's credit due to the error of the credit card processing company they used. After overcharging my mom for $280, my mom immediately talked to them, the staff took her information and said she will liaise to management. After several weeks, no one from Korna or the credit card processing company contacted my mom to rectify this issue. I went in on behalf of my mom, the staff even said this was a known problem, as there were multiple clients at different locations of Korna who were affected. He took down the information again, and said it will be dealt with in a few days. Several weeks passed by again, absolutely nothing! I put in a horrible FB review, so that they know this is still an outstanding issue. Again, haven't heard a peep from Korna or the credit card processing company. Two frigging months passed by, I went in again. Another staff was trying to take down our information again and asked for a copy of the credit card bill for the third bloody time. That's when my husband got upset and raised his voice, saying how unacceptable and unprofessional this is. As he started raising his voice, the owner came over and talked to us. Of course he apologized profusely and indicated that he had been fighting with the credit card processing company for weeks. He pushed over to Fidelity Payment to deal with it, and thought it was resolved. My husband of course chewed his ear off, demanded them to resolve this problem the next business day. Thankfully with the owner on site, he finally contacted the designated staff from Fidelity Payment to deal with this issue, and after two frigging months, $280 was credited back to my mom's card. Even though their store is spacious and comfortable to shop at, and the variety of dehydrated treats and raw are very appealing, I just don't think my mom and I will ever step foot in Korna again after this super unpleasant experience.  Aside from an apology, the owner didn't even think of or bother to do something to win his clients back. It's a loss to them, not us! My mom and I have been loyal customers to them, and every previous purchase was over $100 just on treats! Well, I guess we'll have to buy from other pet stores!

We went to another pet store who advised that our little tank is too small to sustain fish life. If we had known this we most certainly would have purchased a larger tank. When I called the store I was told there was nothing they could do and would not provide a full credit towards a larger tank. They said they would speak to manager though and call me back. They never called me back. I called today again and they said there is nothing they can do. I asked why they did not mention the fact that our tank is not suitable for fish particularly for beginners. The lady said they are trained to sell all fish tank sizes. Seriously shady to sell us a tank with 3 fish when you know that the fish won't survive. I guess you are counting on us to return every couple of weeks to buy more fish. The manager at Port Coquitlam office calls me and says Petland corporate will not allow full credit on tank and offered me $5 off next tank. No thanks. I will be buying a new tank from another pet store.

They seem to have the basics, but a lack of shelf-space/floor space probably means that they can't carry a wider selection of merchandise.
